How do I block unknown callers on Iphone 4

I want to block unknown callers. How do I do this?

On the iPhone with the new ios7 update you can block individual numbers from calling via the phone. However I don't believe it will block unknown callers. You would need to use Verizon's blocking services for $5 a month. It does block unknown numbers.
Good Luck

If there is no way to block unknown callers, will Apple address this this in the release of IOS 7?

If they aren't available in the App store, then they cannot be put onto an iOS device.*

The feature that blocks withheld numbers was blocking "Unknown" callers on GDR2. However, it does not block them in GDR3.
I believe these are international calls.

    Yes, it's turned on.
When you say it's ok on yours, how do you know? Are you getting the same type of calls as I show in my screenshot?

Hello everybody, is there a possibility to block "anonym callers" with iPhone 5?

No. You can try this through your carrier. At this time iphones cannot block callers... I think ios7, when it gets released, will have this feature.

Contact your wireless carrier for IMEI blocking. If you did not have a passcode on your

  • How to block unknown callers?

I get calls 24 hours a day from an unknown caller or callers. Is there anyway to block them without leaving my phone on complete silence for the rest of my life?

You would have to ask your wireless carrier if they provide such a service.
This is not done on the iphone.

  • How do I "block" contacts on my iphone 5C

After upgrading my iPhone 4S to iOS 7 I discovered that within Contacts I now have the option to 'block' a contact which is awesome!   My wife has an iPhone 5 and also now has this capability.  My service is through AT&T Wireless and her's is Verizon.
But the new iPhone 5C I purchased for my college aged daughter (also on Verizon) does NOT have this capability.   Is this feature not available on the 5C?  Or is this a Verizon 5C thing?  Since the 5C is described as the 5, only in a cost reduced hardware platform it SHOULD have this capability as my wife's does.  I feel misled.
If it is an attempt by Apple to differentiate the 5C and 5S, why didn't Apple make this OBVIOUS in their literature???   Knowing of this difference, and any others that are yet to be found, I may have purchased the 5S instead.
Having this capability on the 5C should not require an app to be installed, free or not.
Thanks in advance for any clarity / insight on this.
Interested in knowing if anyone else with a 5C can tell me if they have this feature available who might be on a carrier other than Verizon.

I beleive the Contact Blocking is an iOS 7 feature, hence why your iPhone 4S & 5 now has it where it didn't before.
I know of the following areas where you can block a contact.
Any Contact with IN the Phone app
Any "Unknown Number" in the Recent tab in the Phone app
Any Contact with in iMessages... Click the name at the top, then the i with a circle around it. Scroll to the bottom.
    Settings---> Phone---> Blocked---> Add New
However, from what it looks like you can not block any contacts from with in the Contact app.
You may want to look into Verizon's own blocking system, this is done on they're end. So the phone won't even see it, and it's for any type of phone. Just sign into your VW account.
Left column you should see "Block Services."
Center/top Manage Family Safegaurds and Controls.
Then the very first one should be Call & Message Blocking
Right side of screen is the View Details & Edit. Select that, then you can select which phone you want to apply the blocking to. Once on that screen you can enter the number(s) to be blocked. You can make it so it's for just that phone you want to apply to it. Or all the phones on the plane.
Just make sure that you know that it blocks the number for 90 days, but you can reblock it once the 90 days are up. And that you only have 5 sets of numbers per phoneline.
I've used it in the past and the people who've been calling me hasn't call me since. Even after the 90 day blocking period. Probably because they got the hint. lol

  • HT1688 How can I block calls with my IPHONE

Researching the internet shows that you have to jail break the IPHONE to be able to block phone numbers. Did the designers forget to design the application with the IPHONE? There has to be a way to block phone numbers without jail breaking the phone. Just about every cell phone out there has that ability, why not the IPHONE?

    FYI:
No cell phone has the ability to block calls/sms's...none. True blocking must be done by the carrier, as there is no other way to block calls/sms's.

  • How do I block calls on my iPhone?

I keep getting multiple calls from the same number and since it is an automated message, I can't call back and ask them to stop calling me.
I know apple doesn't have a function that allows iPhones to block calls so I was wondering, what is the best way to solve this?

Create a silent ringtone and assign it to that number, or pay AT$T $5 a month for the privilege.

  • Cant block unknown call

How do we block unknown callers on new iphone 5s. ?

I believe there is a solution wherein only calls from your known contacts will ring on your phone and all other calls, including unknown callers, will be redirected to your voicemail.
Use your Do Not Disturb feature to only allow calls from known contacts.  Other calls will be immediately directed to your voicemail.
    Settings
    Do Not Disturb
    Select Manual
Select "Allow Calls From All Contacts"
Remeber to check your voicemail and add new contacts as appropriate.
