Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.(No data loss)
We can't book any appointments here as we are not Apple, just users like yourself.

Accidental damage is not covered under Apple warranty. And it seems there is much accidental damage. Only a Genius Bar tech looking at it can tell how much it will cost to repair.
Cost to repair will be high, I suspect (though Genius Bar will confirm/deny.
There is no gentle way to say this sir/ma'am ... someone will need to pay for your friend's MBA repairs.

I double check my table of content and I do not have a place holder... so I don't understand the error.

How to book an appointment

I have tried on the website/phone to book an appointment to my closest apple store. For the closest three stores it says unable to register an appointment, I tried turning up to the closest store (Brent Cross) which is still 5 miles away, and wasn't able to drop my Laptop off for repair as they were busy with appointments. They said to turn up the next day at opening to be seen, I did and wasn't.
I really would love to get my laptop fixed.
Any suggestions?

London Genius Bars are busy - I was able to push down the list radiating from Brent Cross as the radius and finally find a Store that had appointments available (no point in posting it, as they may be filled by the time you make yours)

I am faced with this weird problem. My user is able to connect to her mailbox using outlook anywhere. Sending/receving mails are ok. But when she tries to book an appointment in the her own calendar, It said the Outlook must online even though I am connected
to Exchange server.
I am using Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2007.
Can anyone advice?

Does the issue happen to all users or only one specific user? Please book an appointment in Outlook Web Access to check whether it can be created successfully. If the issue doesn't happen in OWA, it indicates that the issue should be related to Outlook client
or the connection between Outlook and server.
Please create a new Outlook profile to check whether the issue is caused by corrupted profile:

Thank you, Winnie for the suggestion. Booking through OWA is ok. We tried to recreate the Outlook profile and it gets worse. When we clicked 'Check Name', it prompt ' the action is incomplete. Microsoft Exchange has to be online ...." We do not have
this problem before. We reinstalled the self-signed certificate again and still the problem still exists. This self-signed certificate was used before and it was ok. Checking the Outlook Anywhere settings and compare with another working notebook showed no
sign of differences.
I read somewhere to restart Exchange System attendant. I am fearful of this as we are running Exchange 2007 CCR and we are unsure how to go about doing it and the impact it has to the rest of the organisation.

Your advice did not help me. I also installed 10.7.4 combo but the situation is the same.
my internet connection is ok, mail is ok, but app store after 3 resets does not recognize my ID and it says "connection is not possible". Why? When I go for Profile Match-up, I found that One employee is lack-off some skills. I have a training program to fill those skills. How can I book that employee for training program from Pofile match-up screen?

Thanks for your response, I check the option Generate training Praposals before running the profile match-up. I have created one training Event type (D) and i assigned qualification through A-028 relation.
Here one employee is lack of MS Office excellent skills for Assistant Manager position, I created Training Event (D) called MS Office training and assigned the qualification for this training program.
when I run profile match-up I got an Icon Training praposal (Tree symbol).
and also I have a column called Training , but it is blank.
I want to book that employee for that training progam (MS offcie training program), from Profile match-up screen.
I have selected the employee and I click on the Icon called Further Training. But the message is like Choose a valid line.
How can I send employee for MS Office training from profile match-up screen?
Please guide me...

Subtle bug in Deitel & Deitel "Java How to Program" book

I have this applet (which is at the same time runnable and listener) its printed in Deitel & Deitel "Java How to Program" book 3rd ed.
The program works but as you turn on and off the "suspend" checkboxes some of the threads are not notified, so they go to infinite wait state, deadlock. I couldn't figure out what is wrong or how to fix the problem.. please read the code below, or copy and paste this code to your eclipse, its just one file, then play with the check boxes, some of the threads don't wake up after wait... technically they don't shift from WAITING to TIMED_WAITING state.
