How do I browse through pictures (in open state) using arrow keys

Hi all. I know this is a lame question. But I am new to Mac. How do we navigate through photos in open mode. I mean usually in Windows, we open one picture and use arrow keys to navigate between photos.What are the keys I can use to navigate between photos. As of now, I have to close the photo and then double tap on another to view it. Thanks.

What application are you using? In iPhoto you can just use the right and left arrow keys to browse photos...

Hello, I have been experiencing similar problems and followed the suggestion and yes, the raw icon comes up as illustrated but there is nothing there to indicate any further action can be taken. So I am presuming that means it is installed and no further action required?
Here's my problem: I have had no problems getting my pics into my organiser in Elements 12 from either my Nikon D7100 or my Fujifilm X100S - until last week. Suddenly when they are imported all I see is the timer icons but they don't open to let me view them. If I click on one it will open and I can then edit it but it will not save an image onto the grid for me to view so it's really frustrating not being able to view all my photos in order to decide what to edit and compare them.
Here's what action I've taken so far - restarted the computer (endlessly), checked the updates and installed them, checked I have the latest raw plug in (I do) and gone into edit/update thumbnail (doesn't do a thing) - and torn out a fair amount of my hair. So anyone out there experienced this and can give me some advice? Please?

Is there any way to know how much time swing client is on open state?

Is there any way to know how much time swing client is on open state? My requirement is to show a message some time after the swing client open i.e., 4-5 hours.

You could also consider using javax.swing.Timer and java.awt.event.ActionListener (or javax.swing.Action) which takes care of running the actionPerformed code on the EDT.

How can I browse through oracle ebs db

Hi All,
I have a EBS 12.1.1 windows installation (with vision demo database) and I would like to have a graphical tool (instead of sqlplus) to browse through the ebs database. What tool do you suggest?
I tried oracle sqldeveloper (version 2.1.1.64.39) but I do know what parameters I have to use to get a valid connection.
I can enter the following data:
User (I tried system)
Password (I tried manager)
Role (Basic, SYSDBA) (I tried both)
Connectiontype (Basic, TNS, LDAP, Advanced) (I tried Basic and TNS)
Hostname (I tried EBS1 -> our hostname)
Port (I tried 1521)
SID or ServiceName (I tried VIS)
But the result is:
Oracle-01034: ORACLE not availableORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Since I can login via the web, the db should be up and running...
What else can be the problem?

In the meantime I got a connection with sql developer to SID "VIS" but I'm surprised that I only can find about 100 tables. I assumed more like a few 1000. I executed the sql statement "select role_name from applsys.wf_user_role_assignments where user_name='ASADMIN'" and got a valid result but I cannot find the table "wf_user_role_assignments" in the table browser. Am I connected to the wrong database?
first check your IP is still same and compare it wiht your /etc/hosts enteryIP is still the same in in sync with the hosts file

How can i flip through pictures using gestures in iPhone 2011

In the previous version of iPhoto, I could flip through my pictures within Events using the same gesture I'd use in Safari to go back and forth. Not sure if its the Mac OS Lion update or the iPhoto update to 2011, but I can't do that anymore. Can anyone help? Thanks

What application are you using? In iPhoto you can just use the right and left arrow keys to browse photos...

Could anybody please let me know how do i assign a report, to browse through pages , i get data more than 10,000 rows, so i need to narrow down the results to 100 for a page ....and have a small link below which says to go to next page ....

I think i am not able to explain properly what i need :
Mine is an interactive report :
In report attributes, pagination tab i have ,
Pagination Type ---------------Row ranges X TO Y OF Z
pagination display position--BOTTOM RIGHT
show null value as- -
max row count- 10,000
when reached max row data display message:This query returns more then 10,000 rows, please filter your data to ensure complete results.
when no data found display message:No Data Found
Above are the current settings , So the user want to browse through pages may be say 1000 at a time, so they must be 10 pages which shows the data , a link at the bottom which says next page so that he can see all the 10,000 rows...
The problem of viewing 10,000 is becoming very difficult now, so they want to see 1000 at the time ...
Is this something which can be possible?

Problems with scrolling through premiere timeline using arrow keys and shift arrow

This is a really weird problem in cs6.
When I load a clip into the source monitor i can scroll throughit fine using the arrow keys, and shift arrows and my shuttle pro controller.
When I place the same clip on to the timeline it really struggles to scroll using the arrows or the shuttle pro, its really kerky and sdlwo to scroll the timeline, which is really frstrating, becuase it can play the footage fine in the source monitor.
The clips will playback fine, but scrolling through them just doesn't work as it should any ideas?

I changed my shuttle settings to make the shuttling more responsive:
1 - 5 times second
2 - 10
3 - 15
4 - 30
5 - 45
6 - 60
7 - fast as possible
At least I changed this a long time ago - don't know if these are the defaults or not.
It'll only shuttle as fast as your system is responsive of course - so if you get instantaneous scrubbing by dragging the CTI in the timeline with the mouse, you should be able to get good performance with the shuttle. Of course that performance depends on the type of footage and how demanding it is on CPU to decode and whether youi have effects applied etc etc etc.
I edit pretty much exclusively with Sony XDCAM EX 1080P 25 footage we've shot on EX3 and PMW-350 etc and I get very very fast performance on the timeline - no issues at all i7 6 core 4GHz with 24Gb ram and fairly fast RAID array for footage.

when trying to preview different fonts in AI i am unable to scroll through them using the arrow keys, it just doesnt move... can anyone tell me whats wrong? im sure its pretty simple but i have no idea how to fix it...if it can be fixed... oh im using cs3 and a mac on os x leopard

you cant scroll through fonts in photoshop too. the scrolling stops on an item of the list (maybe photoshop has problem with it), and 1. in photoshop, you can't jump over it, you have to manually place the selection on the item after the one that blocked the scrolling, 2. illustrator will jump backward and you will keep scrolling about max 5-6 fonts over and over.
the font groups divided with lines are meaningless. it doesn't have any relation with regional keysets or any good reason.
a lot of unusable font f....d into the middle of the page.
i have to scroll over a dozens of unusable system fonts, what I cannot uninstall from Windows.
no font management at all.
and yes waiting for another 300$ upgrade too.
(plus another upgrade for a flash, because flash drawing tools didn't see upgrades in their whole lifetimes.
these tools are covered with bugs from top to toe. because nobody takes care of them. 300$ / 1bug.)

How to set a default value in my DropDown using the key ?

Hello All,
Can someone advose how I can achieve the above ? I will like to know how to select a default value for the dropdown by key using the key value instead of description.
The reason why I need to do so instead o fusing description is because my application will populate the dropdown using web services based on the language selection. Hence, if I were to set the default value using description, den other languages will not work anymore.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you !!

2. You have a DropDownByKey UI control, its property selectedKey bound to NodeX.TargetAttr attribute
Then:

Scroll through fonts (using arrow keys) in CS3?

I've searched a couple dozen blogs and this forum, but I cannot seem to find a way to scroll through fonts using the arrow keys in CS3. The tips I've been able to find are for older versions of PS and don't seem to work with CS3. Am I missing something? Am I crazy?

Okie Dokie.
So, on the left, I have the type tool selected.
In the middle is the drop down font family panel.
On the right, you'll see that I have the text layer selected.
Oh, and you can see in the top that my text is not in editing mode (hence the lack of the green check/red "no" symbol).
Am I doing this correctly?
Oh and if I trash my preferences will I lose keyboard short cuts I've set up?

How to stop browser and mail applications opening automatically at start up

Since upgrading to Lion, Firefox, Mail and Hogwasher (a newsreader application) all open automatically when the computer starts up. I don't want or need this to happen but cannot find any way of preventing it. I have checked my user login items, but none of these apps is among those listed. Any suggestions why this is happening and how I can change it?

How do I enable the daily photograhs to auotomaticly be visable when I open the seach engin BING? The BING main page is currently gray in color and I am unaware how to activate the screen-shot photo. The photos were visable only a few days ago.

How to fix browser won't stay open,..closes without messages

I can't get FF to stay open. No error messages. Just opens, says loading and reload then immediately closes.
I checked under task manager processes but FF is not running.
I think the add-on that opens the page in IE caused this as this has happened before but I can't remember how to fix it.

Allan, here's an update: I just now picked up my phone, having never turned it off before putting it down, and the screen remains black! It's totally flatlined! It now will not turn on at all. Oy. This baby is going back first thing tomorrow. The weird thing is, after leaving the Apple store, I noticed some faint artifacts on my screen. As in, strange colors in areas that shouldn't be there. Do you know what I mean? It was similar to the time my graphics card died on my old pc.
Allan, yes- I restored both ways- wiping everything out and starting from scratch, and from a backup. I also got into the habit of powering off (and on) my phone religiously. It looks like this is a hardware, not just a software problem, now. I do hope the third time will be a charm, though . And I AM hopeful, especially after hearing that you've only crashed one time! Many thanks for troubleshooting with me, it's much appreciated!

what i want to achieve:
   open a TCP session in a VI, save the session ID to Teststand, then after certain process, write/read/close the same TCP session in another VI.
my question:
   1. how to pass TCP session ID between labview and Teststand
   2. how to use the same TCP session across different VIs.

You could typecast the reference to a U32 and sent that u32 to Teststand.
Be aware that the VI that opens the reference should be kept active (=running) or LabVIEW might close the reference silently.
