How do I build a website on mobile me?

Is it possible to build a simple one page site and host on mobile me?

Wendy ~ Welcome to the Support Communities. A simple, one page site can be easily built and then published with just one click on Weebly for free. And since Weebly is web-based, you'll be able to update your site from any modern Mac or PC. Weebly's net promoter score — an industry calculation of how likely users are to recommend a service to others — is an unusually high 80%. (Source)

  • How do you publish a website without mobile me working anymore?

    How do you publish a website using iweb 09 with a moved mobile me account , when using icloud.  I can't use mobile me.

    Here's what you need to do:
    1 - purchase a domain name (you'll need one in order to publish your website to a commercial hosting service.
    2 - obtain a hosting service to publish your site to.
    3 - obtain the ftp address, username and password from Customer Support of your new hosting service.
    4 - set iWeb to publish to an ftp server and enter the necessary information you received from Customer Support.
    An alternative to #4 would be to publish your website to a folder on your hard drive and use a 3rd party ftp client like Cyberduck (free) or Transmit to upload the website file to the server.

  • How can I view original websites not mobile versio...

    Is there anyway to view original websites not mobile versions websites on N97?

    Some mobile phone networks implement something called a transparent proxy. No inherently a bad idea, but in this particular instance it is a bit annoying.. Basically it intercepts your web traffic and "optimises" it for mobile clients. This is actually fairly nice for crummier phones that perhaps can't cope with complex HTML or large images (or flash)
    As radical said, some sites however are optimised themselves.. The website will serve different content when it detects that the client (in this case, your phone) is a mobile device or if the client is coming from a mobile network company (rare, but happens) .. Also helpful.. I think Orange in the UK may intercept graphics files and reduce re-compress them into smaller versions..but I've never tested/looked into it closely enough to know for sure
    The first you may be able to do something about. Some phone networks have an "opt-out" facility. This may be a slightly different APN. Not all networks offer it, so your milage may vary.
    The second is out of your control, unless you get some freaky browser for the N97 that can pretend to be a desktop (a bit like Opera can pretend to be IE)
    I'm lead to believe that the chances of doing anything about it are fairly slim if you happen to suffer from the problem

    If you've built your site using Muse, you can choose to publish to Adobe Business Catalyst, or use the 'Upload to FTP Host' feature to upload to another hosting provider. You can also export to a local folder and use a 3rd party FTP client to upload it to the hosting provider of your choice.

  • Mac Safari open website in mobile version sometimes, such as GoogleTranslate. How to solve it

    Sometimes Mac Safari open website in mobile version, such as GoogleTranslate. How to solve it?
    I use iPhone and iPad as well, but I never open google translate page using safari both on iPhone and iPad. Just use the GoogleTranslate App sometimes.
    Why does my Mac Safari open google translate page in mobile version for no reason?

    If you use iCloud to synchronize Safari with a mobile device, you may be opening a bookmark to the mobile version of the site. Another possibility is that you're getting a Handoff activity from the device.
    Remove everything from the URL except the domain name and try again. For instance, if the URL is something like this:
    http://www.example.com/mobile
    or
    http://mobile.example.com
    change it to this:
    http://www.example.com

    How do I publish the website i am creating with iweb now that mobile me is closed?

    You will need to find a 3rd party web host. I personally use IX Webhosting and have been happy with them for several years now.
    Depending on the version of iWeb you are using you have a couple of publishing options:
    iWeb '09 (3.0.4) you can publish to an FTP Server or a local folder. ( With the built in FTP in iWeb you will end up with an address like "www.YourDomain.com/sitename/Home.html )
    iWeb '08 you can publish your website to a local folder

  • How do I make my website fit in all size browser windows?

    Hi there,
    I should start off by saying that I am very new to web design, and have very limited knowledge of CSS and HTML.  I understand what they are and the nature of what they do, I'm just not code savvy.
    Now that that's out of the way, I've been designing/attempting to build a website using Dreamweaver.  I have all of the components and layout that I want designed and ready to go, but I desperately need help with translating that into Dreamweaver.  I've been researching information all over the web, but with one person suggesting one thing and another suggesting something completely different I'm afraid my brain is about to melt.
    Here's what I've done so far:
    Because I want everything fully customized and to use a less common font style, I saved everything from the graphics, photos, and links as .png files.  I then inserted each of those images into an AP Div Tag in Dreamweaver and arranged them appropriately.  That's absolutely all I've done.  It works great, except I have no idea how to configure everything so the site layout shows up centered in any size browser window, instead of sitting awkwardly in the corner.
    Here's a link to what currently exists: http://ikikatawares.com
    I've read dozens of articles and forum responses about building tables, but I'd like to avoid that since to me they seem clunky and kind of a hassle to deal with.  Can anyone please help me?  Thanks.
    Beth

    You need to put only the bold part into your code.
    Immediately after your starting <body> tag add in
    <div id="wrapper">
    and immediately before your ending </body> tag add in
    </div>
    Then at the end of your css, you currently have...
    #apDiv10 .navBarLinks .navBarLinks {
    font-weight: bold;
    Change that to...
    #apDiv10 .navBarLinks .navBarLinks {
    font-weight: bold;
    #wrapper {
         position:relative;
         width:1005px;
         margin:0 auto;

  • How can i delete a website made in iWeb from MobileMe but not from iWeb

    The problem is that I have made changes to several pages (almost all of them) on my site and since the changes my site no longer displays correctly in Internet Explorer.
    I have looked in the IE CSS file and the CSS file for IE is completely messed up and would take a long time to correct by correcting the code for every page, so I decided just to delete the whole site from MobileMe and then republish it as a new site, rather then as an altered site.
    The problem is I don't want to delete the site from iWeb, because it has took me months to build it and I don't want to have to start again. I just want to delete the site from MobileMe, so I can republish it as a new site (and hopefully correct the screwed up code).
    So how can I delete a website created in iWeb and published on MobileMe from MobileMe without deleting it from iWeb.
    Huge thanks
    Jay

    Hey thanks for your reply, unfortunately I have already tried to delete my site from iDisk >> Web >> Sites. But it said that i didn't have permission and it wouldn't delete the files.
    I am loged in as an Admin and I still cant delete them
    Thanks again

  • Can You Build a Website with iWeb and then publish it to another server?

    I am very new at this but like how easy iWeb makes it to build a website. A few questions for the newbie:
    1. I want to build a site but have another server I use who would host it. After watching the iWeb tutorials it looks as if you have to publish it on mobileme.com. But I already have hosting with another company. How do you do that?
    2. I also have a domain name I want to show up in the hyperlink bar not mobileme.com/____, is that possible to do with this program?
    3. Are their other templates for iWeb? I see about 12 or so they offer, can you search and download for new ones or is what's there all you have to choose from?
    I appreciate any help on these matters.
    Thanks!

    How can I save a website created on iweb, but that I no longer have it saved in my computer, so I can open it in my new computer  with iweb
    and republish it on another server, since mobile me would be gone on jun 2012.

    You need the Domain.sites2 file that's located in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder in order to be able to manage and publish the site from another computer?
    Do you have that file? If you do copy it to the same folder on the other computer and you're ready to go.
    If not then you'll have to recreate the site from scratch.  Chapter 2.3 on the iWeb FAQ.org site has tips on using some of the existing files, image, audio, video, etc., from the published site in the recreation of the site. 1

  • More websites on Mobile Me?

    I have a website hosted by a commercial party. Now my website content grows too big. I have a Mobile Me account where I can store all my content and more.
    I already have another website redirected to Mobile Me.
    Question:
    1. Is it possible to redirect another website to Mobile Me (Two different websites?)
    2. How do I make a website where the content is stored not in the same directory?
    (I am thinking of some pages with photo's and movies to be stored on Mobile Me)
    I am sorry if this is all very clear to you, but it new to me and not clear at all.

    Greetings Hans,
    1. Is it possible to redirect another website to Mobile Me (Two different websites?)
    You can only have 1 personal domain per MobileMe account. You can certainly have multiple sites on MobileMe but they will use the standard MobileMe web address format web.me.com/UserName/SiteName. You could upgrade your account to a Family pack which will give you 5 total accounts. Each individual login can have a single personal domain name routed to it. For details on this see the MobileMe support page www.apple.com/support/mobileme.
    2. How do I make a website where the content is stored not in the same directory?
    If I understand the issue correctly, you currently are hosting your website with a FTP server of some kind and are running out of space so you are thinking of moving some of your content to the MobileMe servers? You could in theory put some content on MobileMe and then re-create the links on your website so they reference those files on MobileMe rather than the FTP server. You would do so using the HTML Widget feature of iWeb and use image reference tags. However this is a great deal of work just because you are out of space. You would have to re-create all the parts of your site that you want on the other server (thus re-writing the code so that iWeb knows it is supposed to go the other server to find the pieces it needs to draw your website).
    The MobileMe servers offer you 20 GB of space per primary user account. Perhaps just host your largest site on MobileMe. Or contact your FTP company and purchase more space. How much do you need? Perhaps there are ways you could reduce the overall size of the site (Remove unneeded files, use lower resolution images, etc.)
    Hope that helps.

  • [Flex 4.5.1] What is the best way of adopting a flex built website for mobile "as is"?

    What is the best way of adopting a flex 4.5.1 built website for mobile "as is"?
    I have a website built with flex 4.5.1 which I want to be working on mobile as it should - meaning that touch style of interactions should be working not mouse.
    The question is: Do I HAVE TO recode all of my website from Application into Mobile Application in order to be a more lightweight version of the original one, which includes: remove some functionality, pages, animation, build a separate backend and cms to control it etc.?
    OR
    Can I just define mobile skins, for my existing components to use when in mobile mode, in which I could have done some tweaking by removing some unnecessary parts and changing component interactionMode to Touch ?
    Are both options which I see possible and if yes - which one would you recommend?
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the answer. Yeah I bet you figured out what I want the answer to be, but is it ? That's why I am asking here. I can see my website on my HTC Desire HD and it's working pretty well. If I reskin the parts that need a bigger hit area or the scrollers to work with touch so I don't have to scroll the actual scrollbars with my finger, remove some complex animations - everything will work just fine... The problem is that I am not sure if that is the right way to do it or if it is possible at all.
    I do get your point about not designed for mobile stuff, but while with html 5 you get the job done for web and mobile with little differences at the same time, in flash you need double time cause you'll have to build 2 projects. And since the framework is one for both web and mobile.. why not...
    I want to see the pros and cons of the both approaches I suggested. In a complex modular architecture I could easily swap one web module with a mobile module for example or change skins or components if I need more lightweight ones, but do I have to copy all that logic in to a MobileApplication, can't I do it with Application and use the MobileComponents (which are simplier and less functional) if the project actually needs them...
    I do hope you get why I am asking these questions, and I can't believe I haven't found a guide or something like that "why this and not that" when it comes to mixing web with mobile development and flex... If you have, please share the link, I would be happy to read. Or someone with the experience in what I am talking about shares some knowledge, that would be great!
    Thanks.

  • How to use / on my website's url?

    I want to know how to use / on my website's url?

    the only way i can think off to do that is to build a folder structure which matches the URL you want, because the slash indicates a folder structure, each word between the slashes is a folder so in the root of your web space you'd have a folder called 'more' and within that a folder called 'dentistry' and so on, but i don't think you can control the file structure created when you export from Muse, you could manually create a folder structure and move the pages, but that would break all the links to images, scripts and css

  • Open website in mobile version

    How can I prevent Safari opening the website from mobile version?  Thanks!

    You can't, it's not one of the settings that you can change. Other browsers do have settings that allow them to identify themselves as something else (Internet Exploter, desktop Safari, Firefox etc e.g. Atomic Web (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/atomic-web-browser-browse/id347929410?mt=8), and iCab might as well (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/icab-mobile-web-browser/id308111628?mt=8# - not entirely sure as I havn't got iCab)

  • Can I use form 9i to build a website?

    Hi, everyone,
    I want to build a website based on oracle database. it's about a teaching evaluation system. that mean, teachers and mentors can exchange their idea through this system. I want to know if oracle forms can complete this funcation. if it can build a website? how can it complete the funcation of super link and navigation, etc. or does there some better ideas to build such a website? thank you very much for your great help.
    besides, in the form, can I complete video funcation? for example, uploading video from client and playing it on the client? does anyone use Oracle interMedia? it's about managing multimedia content. how can I integrate this funcation in my system?
    any help will be great appreciated!!

    Dear Grant Ronald
    thank you very much for your help.
    according to your experience, which one is better for a biginner: Jdeveloper, Portlet or Forms.
    just as you said, my application is not a heavy data application. for me, I just want to build it quickly and easily. frankly to say, I think Jdeveloper is too complex. there are so many new technologies to grasp in it. it will be hard to grasp in a short time.
    comparing Portlet with Forms, I never use Portlet, so I don't know which one is more easy and quickly to learn. as for the Form, I know there is no reference books about the newest version 9i. so I can only learn forms 6i plus new features in oracle website. another very important thing is if there are many examples and articles about Portlet on internet. so I can follow up and build my own application quickly.
    another very important factor is that I want to include video content in my application later. for example, uploading the vedio and playing back at the client side. so which tool is better to develop this application? do you use oracle intermedia before? what's the relationship between intermedia and Portlet and Form?
    besides, do you know if Portlet belongs to DS? I mean if I have bought DS, need I buy Portlet?
    thank you very much for your help!
    cheers...
