How do i buy an app on the mac app store with my apple account balance?
when i try to buy an ap it tries to get my credit card info. i dont want to use a credit card because ive already got alot on my acount balance and just recently when i bought my mac yesterday they gave me a free student 65£ voucher.

Sometimes, you need to enter Credit Card info, even if you are using account balence. Make sure you sign-in to your account on the mac app store, or enter your Apple ID in System Preferences under Users and Groups.
Also make sure you have redeemed that code.

I have tried to log in App Store with my Apple ID 3 times but never possible.
I have tried to change password 2 times.
It was successful.But soon after change of my password, I could not log in App store.
It says always incorrect user name or password. But I input correct ! Because just I successfully changed my password through secret question.
Third time when I tried to change password, the page did not open!

To post this question, I tried thierd time to change password, and before I tried to log in to App store, I logged in this community, and I could !
Then I could finally log in App store also.
But still I feel something is wrong with my connection.
Why the trace route does not show to the apple site ?This is a user to user forum. Apple is not here. Apple does not answer questions here.

Hi, I want to do a clean re-installation of my end 2011 Macbook Pro which comes with pre-installed Lion OS. I go through the installation steps and after App Store verified my Apple ID, it prompted me that I did not purchase the Lion OS. I am very surprise to see this message which my pre-installed Lion Macbook Pro should have it. Please help and advise how can I get the OS? All other bundle softwares were in the purchase record except the Lion OS.
That was my mistake - sorry - it IS Command-R to boot to the Recovery disk, not Command-D: I either just hit the wrong key or am just now coming awake from my nap.
Let me see if I can just explain it in a few steps - I don't know of any link (but it would make a good User Tip):
Create an up-to-the minute back-up of your internal hard drive using an external hard drive and Time Machine.
Boot to your recovery partion - holding down Command-R on boot.
Use Disk Utility to erase Macintosh HD - use one GUID partition and format as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". Unless you're selling the machine, there's no need to do a secure erase (which can take hours).
After you erase the disk, re-install Lion from the same Recovery partition.
After installation is complete, reboot, again holding down the Command-R keys to boot into the Recovery Partition.
Restore your Time Machine back-up. This could take several hours.
Reboot after restore and you're back in business.
That should take care of everything - all you need is an Internet connection.
Call back if I didn't explain things too well - at least I got the Command-R right this time!

Thanks.No, you cannot transfer apps from one account to another iTunes account. Apps are DRM protected and forever tied to the account used to originally obtain them.

Updating Apps bought with two apple accounts
Half the apps on my iphone are bought from an old hotmail account, and the other half are from a newer mobile me account... When I want to update all the apps, I have to sign in to both accounts (in iTunes) or it doesn't think I bought the apps!

Apps (even free ones) are DRM-protected and linked to the account used to download them. You'd need to repurchase the apps to get them all on one account.
Actually, you should have kept your old AppleID. Note that the AppleID isn't used for email contact - it's just an account name, so it could be Fred or MyVeryOwnAccount. Apple does recommend using your email address for the AppleID - I think that's a bad idea because it results in exactly the problem you're having - confusion between AppleID and email address. You can change the email address associated with your account/AppleID at http://myinfo.apple.com, so there you could have kept your hotmail account as your ID, but associated the new MobileMe email with the account so your receipts went to the right place. At this point, you're pretty much stuck without re-buying half your apps. Sorry! -
Help! Cannot sign into app store with updated apple id.
Hello there, I hope someone could help me resolve the following problem.
So I've been using my Apple ID with a hotmail address for a long time. Today I changed the primary email address of my Apple ID to a gmail address. I DIDN'T create a new Apple ID, I just updated my old one using the "Manage my Apple ID" link.
After the change, I was able to change the info on my macbook air, and Messages. But I couldn't log into iCloud, App Store, or iTunes Store. They kept telling me that the email and password I entered were wrong. So I tried rebooting my laptop, didn't work. I tried resetting the password on the webpage via the "Manage my Apple ID" again, didn't work.
Now I'm freaking out.
Can someone help me please??? Is there a significant step I'm missing while trying to use my new Apple ID email address to log in?OK, alright, I think it's just Apple acting slowly...
One hour afte I changed my email, app store finally can recognize the new address and password.
