No version of Adobe Reader can re-order pages. You can do this with Acrobat, however (for Mac and Windows).

After installing the most recent version of adobe reader, a prompt popped up, asking me to reboot my computer to complete installation. Why is it asking me to do this? Is it safe? And (if so,) how should I go about doing this??

I don't know why - I never had to restart my computer after installing any Adobe updates.

I work with an Inventory module software and is responsible for software detection across several computers. Once an updated version comes up, I update our database with latest software details to get it detected if installed on any machines.
The problem tracking updates with Desktop Creative Cloud Software are;
1)We have to have it installed with the CC applications in-order to get the notification of the latest updates and have to check everyday.
2)Only relates to the latest updates, so in-between we may miss a prior update unknowingly.Hence, the remote machines having those updates may not get detected with the software version update which would create problem in reporting.
3)For all CC products, there is no base or previous updates available for installation if we miss one.
I went through the Adobe Products Update pages [Product updates] which holds good when it comes to Acrobat and Reader software which I follow to track down any newer updates but this is inconsistent when it comes to CC products like in After Effects CC, Dreamweaver CC etc...
So overall to be very specific, is there any one channel I can follow to get the notifications only for the updates on CC products and then may be I can rely on Desktop Creative Cloud for installation if not available anywhere like in product update pages of Adobe ?

Once you are at 10.6.8 Lion is still available from Apple. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775. to purchase it. Then within 3 days you will get an email with a code which you can use to download Lion from the App Store. The price is $19.99.
Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.

Also Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Lion.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors in 2006 they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.

Can't open a pdf within browser with newest version of Adobe Reader

After installing Adobe Reader 9.3 I can't view links to a PDF file. I get this message.
'The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to veiw PDF files in a Web Browser. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again.'
How can get to the PDF file on the internet if you are not in a browser?

I'm actually having the same problem on several computers running both Windows XP sp3 and Windows 7. I've deployed a customized installation created in Adobe Customization Wizard (basicly just turned off the Adobe Online/Registration options in the menu). WinXP use IE6 and Win7 naturally IE8.
I'm going to try and find a solution to this and I will get back to you if I do find one.
In the mean time you can start Adobe Reader, go to the "Edit" menu and select "preferences", find the option "Internet" on the left menu and remove the option for "View PDF's in web browser".

Unfortunately that doesn't help me much, since I need to figure out why the installer won't do it properly. So if anyone else have an idea about this it would be appreciated if you could share your knowledge.

Why can't I open any pdf files with any version of Adobe Reader after I upgraded?

Upgraded Adobe Reader not too long ago and after then it stopped opening pdf files. I had an old version of Adobe Acrobat and that opened the file no problem. I tried to downgrade Adobe Reader, but that didn't fix the problem.
Just tried to open Adobe Reader by itself without any files and it still crashed.
FYI – I’m using Windows 7 (Microsoft 2013)

It's not a good idea to have both Acrobat and Reader unless they're both of the same version number (like X or XI). Such a situation can cause all kinds of conflicts and crashes, as you've seen. Also, if you have an old version of Acrobat it's might not be compatible with your OS any more.

I go to adobe's website to download the reader to my Mac OSX 10.3.9. I pick 10.3.x from the drop down menu. But nothing happens when I when I click <continue>. Does another site exist that archives the right older version?

I can not get any steaming videos to play, i have tried several different sites as well as updating to the latest firefox version and adobe flash player. Internet explorer will play streams fine. Streaming worked fine yesterday.

Steaming videos will not work on firefox, but will work on internet explorer.

How can I copy or print all text highlights in Adobe Reader for Android?

I read many tech books as pdfs. And highlight the parts I want to note.
Since I am now reading them on an Android Tablet using Adobe Reader for Android, I need to find a way to move my highlights to a separate doc when I am done reading. I don't see instructions for this anywhere.
How can I copy all text highlights at once from a document?
And / or
How can I print all text highlights from a document?

Kindle Reader will let me do that with Kindle books and docs that I buy from
Amazon, but not with personal docs (such as pdfs) that I import, unfortunately.

How do I install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS

Hi, I have a iPhone 4S, 64GB memory, 20GB free running iOS 6.1.3 (yes, yes, install the latest version of the iOS ... I am otherwise happy with the way the iPhone has worked since purchasing it 3 years ago).
Last week, an app I regularly use, notified to be updated (11C Pro HP scientific calculator by RLM Software). I duly performed the update, but when I went to use the calculator, it appears that it is not compatible with the iOS ...
According to the developer, the Apple app store is supposed to check the iOS version before it allows the download and update install (this does not appear to have been done in this instance).
The developer directed me to an Apple page, Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X that shows a way to roll back to a prior version compatible with the iOS installed, however, I cannot find precisely where the "Purchased screen on your iOS device" is.
If they mean the Purchases screen on the App store app, that shows a big blank nothing despite a considerable number if iOS app purchases since 2011.
Does anyone have a clue as to what Apple mean in the above link or know of some way to prevent the App store from changing (without checking the installed iOS) working apps before upgrading?

I am trying to download an iWork manual from the Apple website. All I get is a plain black page, even tho' I am following download instructions carefully. I have the latest version of Adobe Reader.

I am trying to download an iWork 09 manual from the Apple website but all I get is a big plain black window. I am following the download instructions very carefully. I know I have the most recent version of Adobe Reader. Using Safari, when I try to "Save As", I get a message saying "cannot export". What am I doing wrong??

Turns out this is an overall problem....any PDF I try to download on line turns up the same plain black page. Doesn't matter whether it is what I tried to download mentioned above, or if it's the latest power bill from our utility company. An UGLY black screen!! I have it set up that downloaded PDF documents should open in Preview.
On the other hand, any PDF documents in my computer files open with no problem.
Prior to installing Lion, most of my activity lately has been converting AppleWorks documents to Pages and, if that doesn't work, I convert to PDF. Other than that, I haven't been fooling around with any settings.
Once again, I appreciate your input....any other suggestions?
