Press the "Cancel" button on the printer.  It is the button on the upper left, just below the power button.  See page 2 of the manual here.

  • How do I cancel a print job from my computer to my HP Photosmart 7510. Touchscreen is unavailable.

    HP Photosmart 7510 All-in-One CQ877a Model C3112; Operating system Windows Vista 64-bit.
Can't find how to easily cancel a print job. The touch screen is unavailable during the printing process (just shows the HP icon spinning around during the print process). There isn't a "cancel" button or touch area to cancel. We're wasting ink and paper by not being able to cancel jobs easily. Read the 24-page manual and it doesn't mention it. Looked on line for an answer, can't seem to locate one. Can always go to Start, Printers, and select the printer and then cancel from within there, but by then, the job is finished.

There should be a cancel button (X) on the printer. Check out the pic below taken from page 7 of the User manual for your printer:

Alternately, instead of going the Start button route, did you check out the Final tip at the bottom of the article?
    "Final Tip (Shortcut)
Before using the method above to open the print queue, look for the printer icon in the notification area. If you see it, double-click it to bring up the print queue. "

  • How do I stop FileVault from encrypting half way through the process?

I downloaded the new iOS to my MacBook Pro and I selected yes to encrypt my disk with the fire vault option. It has been encrypting for two days now, and it is slowing down my computer. I want to stop the encrypting but it says I have to wait until the entire disk has been encrypted. What do I do?

The answer of LukeJQuinn is right: you can't stop it half way. Happened to me several times . Last resort: make a re/or clean install of your OS. The installer will stop and undo the encrypting process and after that you have control again. FileVault is very user UNfriendly and you only have the option to encrypt your whole disk/partition. With Truecrypt you can encrypt single files, directories, user-accounts or -if you whish- your whole disk (this will take some time but certainly not 2 days for a 3 TB disk). The site of Truecrypt is not supported anymore but the encryption is still robust enough to witstand professional attacks. If you are that concerned about your data think of FileVault being an Apple product: that means that there are "legal backdoors" build in for the "men-in-black" to pry in your data. Also think why it is that your MB Pro can't finish this task.

  • My printer stops half way through a job

I have been trying to print a double sided job to my HPF4C24E.  It does the first side but won't start the second side after i have clicked continue.  The print queue says that the job is 8/2 which doesn't seem right given that it is only 2 pages.  It is an excell document using windows 7 and office 2010.
    Grateful for any help.

I would try moving the existing backup to a safe place since there may be some corruption that is causing the problem.  The backup file is located hre:
The folder where your backup data is stored changes depending on the computer's operating system. Since iTunes only keeps one backup per device, you should ensure the backup folder is included in your periodic data backup routine.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP,  Windows Vista and Windows 7).

  • I cancelled my home sharing half way through and now it won't give me the option to transfer the rest of my songs over... help!

I am trying to transfer all my songs (1400 of them) from my old laptop to my new MacBook Pro. I thought I could just pop in my appleID and it would all appear! I have iTunes Match and thought that may help. None of this seemed to work, so I started the Home Transfer. Then it looked like my iTunes Match was allowing me to access my songs so I cancelled the Home Transfer. Now I'm stuck with only 349 of my songs but when I tried again, my old laptop only has that same 349 songs on the Home Sharing option too. So it seems I can't get the rest on!
I am not very techy and very confused!
    Help!!

Why will it not let you add them?  What specifically are you trying to do, please provide steps.
Frankly, the only thing that should need to be done it restore the iTunes folder from the backup onto the computer.  There is no reason to add or import anything.

  • HT1040 I cannot upload my iphoto book to the apple store for printing, it cuts out half way through the download.  What can I do?

I have made a photo book which is ready now to send to the apple store for printing but half way through the download process it cuts out unexpectadly and will not send.  I have printed many books from my computer through Iphoto and have never had this problem before.  What could be the problem?  I have checked for updates and installed all of them.  Turned my computer off and then on again.  But still keeps doing this.  Help ?

Apple's servers are very busy today, right after the big WWDC conference and the announcement of new products.
download process it cuts out unexpectadly and will not send
The reason for this may be that the book contains photos that cannot be rendered. Have you checked the preview of your book? Does the pdf look correct?
    See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040
If that is not the problem, check your network and your security settings. If you are using a Firewall or Antivirus filter, disable it temporarily.

  • How to cancel a print job in progress

I have a HP C5580.  When i was using Windows ME on my former PC, I could easily go to Printers, select the 5580,  hit documents in queue, and hit cancel , and the printer stopped.
Got a new Compaq  PC with Windows 7, and I can't figure out how to cancel a print job  mid stream.  I go to Printers and Devices, giet the page that allows me to view the print jobs in queue, I hit "print job in process", but the "Cancel" is not in bold print and I can'tfind any other way to cancel the job.
    Help !

The easiest way to cancel a print job would be by pressing the cancle button on the front panel.  This is the "X" button near the right side of the control panel, see pages 10 and 11 of the user manual here.

  • Is there a "normal" user manual for the 8600 pro? Something as simple as "how do i cancel a print j

I have a HP OfficeJet 8600 all-in-one printer and would like to find a "normal" user manual (If such a thing exists).  I tried in what somebody considers a manual to find out how to "Cancel a print job".  I  could not find it in what professes to be a user manual!  I finally figured it out on my own, but it would be nice to have a "conventional" manual with an index at the back!

  • How can I cancel a printing task?

I began printing a tex in a HP Photosmart Premium from my iPhone, but I realized that the text is too long (97 pages). How can I cancel this printing?

Double press the home button on the iPhone and it will reveal Print Center.  You can cancel the print job there.  The printer may have a red 'x' that is shown while printing.  This red X will also cancel the job.
    I was an HP employee.

I appreciate if you could give some information on above 2 questions.

  • I just upgraded and now can't cancel a print job.

The icon to delete is not there anymore. It was so easy to cancel. I'm trying to print a photo and it wanted to print on paper. That mistake will waste a lot of ink, so I want to cancel the job, but can't. Of course, I could unplug my printer, but obviously I don't want to have to do that every time I want to cancel a job. Help!

No it's not, that's the reason you should click the x if you want to cancel a print job. If is has already started, pausing it will pause a partially finished job. Subsequently canceling it may cause corrupted print output or a communications error the printer ought to handle.
If there is nothing in the print queue then the job has already been sent to the printer and your Mac is finished with it. In that case, use the printer's front panel control to cancel the job.

  • Unable to cancel a print job

I need to cancel a print job so other things behind it will print.  It still appears in the 'pending jobs' list and will not go away.  It says that it is 'deleting' but it's still there.  What can I do to get rid of it.?  Thank you.

    Hi,
From the Desktop, hold down the Windows key and press R.  Into the Run window, type services.msc and hit enter.
Browse down to the print spooler service, right click it and select Properties then click on the Stop button.
Now browse to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS and delete the job inside this folder - You may need to click a prompt to gain the appropriate authority to open the PRINTERS folder.
Restart the computer and you should find the job has been removed.

  • Pinter won't print; can't cancel failed print job; cannot print anything

If I try to cancel a print job,  the printer dialog box claims the print job is being deleted, but it never is.  The only nway I can get rid of the message and clean up the print queue is to reinstall the printer.  This is absurd.  HP's help is anything but.  What is the problem.  I have a Deklsjet 1660.

    Debra,
Look at my solution just above your post. Go here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us
Scroll to the bottom of the page for the download link, and download it to your desktop. The link looks like this:
Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package now.
Double click the icon that is on your desktop to install it. Startt eh program through "start", then "Programs".
Find Adobe reader in the list, highlight it and click the "Remove" button.
Got to www.adobe.com and download Adobe Reader to your desktop, and install it. You should be good to go.
