How do I cancel a subscription that has automatic renewal?

I signed up for a free trial for a magazine. Every month I am automatically charged for renewal. However I've decided that I prefer buying the mag in hard copy. How do I cancel the subscription?

    I want to cancel an auto-renewing app subscription that seems impossible to cancel.  The iTunes subscription management page has no interactive controls except for a “Done” button.  The app developer can’t help me, Apple has not responded to my request for support, and e-mail from the iTunes store says the subscription will be renewed on 10/21/14.     About two years ago, I downloaded the Magmic New York Times Crossword app from iTunes to my iPod.  I started an annual subscription to that app, which automatically renews.
    I lost my iPod, and I have no other Apple devices, so I want to cancel that subscription.  Magmic support has been unable to explain how I can cancel my subscription.  They advised me that I can cancel the subscription via the app on my Apple device.  Because I no longer have any Apple devices or any way of running any Apple apps, this is impossible.
    Magmic also advised me to use the App Store subscription management page for my account.  Using iTunes on my Windows PC, I found the subscription management page for the crossword app.  It shows that my “Daily and Archive Puzzle Subscription (The New York Times Crossword)” expires on Oct 21, 2014.  The same page also includes this remark:  “This subscription is no longer available.”
    I don’t understand whether I need to do anything to prevent auto-renewal on Oct 21, 2014.  The only interactive control on the subscription management page is a button labeled “Done”.  I don’t see any way to cancel the subscription or stop auto-renewal on that page.
    I think I read somewhere that Apple has stopped support for the Magmic crossword app, so I was assuming my subscription would *not* auto-renew anymore.  However, just a few days ago, on Oct. 5, 2014, I received e-mail from the iTunes store informing me that my “subscription to The New York Times Crossword will automatically renew on 10/21/14 and you will be charged at that time.”  Does Apple really plan to renew my subscription, and charge me, even though the iTunes app store says “this subscription is no longer available” and even though I have no devices on which I can use any Apple app?  Is there any way I can cancel this subscription and stop auto-renewal?
    I opened an Apple support case asking these questions on 10/7/14.  I received an automatically generated reply that said an iTunes Store rep would respond within 24 hours.  It’s been about 48 hours, and I have not received a reply. Can anyone clarify these issues for me?

    You can log in to MyVerizon with your phone number (register it if you haven't already) and look at what is there under the "My Media" tab. You should be able to transfer any apps to your new phone.
    If in doubt, call customer service (800-922-0204 or *611 from your device) and explain - they can either cancel it for you or help you get it running on your new phone.

    I bought a new 3tb internal drive for my windows machine so I can backup an external drive which I didn't know was mac formatted. When I was trying to extend the capacity of my internal drives in wndows so it would add another 3tb I accidentally chose my exteranal drive and it changed the master boot record although I cancelled the process the drive won't mount in my mac anymore. And I get those errors in the disck utility.
    The data in it are very important I was trying to backup it to my sohotank harddrive enclosure which already had a 2tb and now a 3tb installed. Any help would be appreaciated.
    I'm now trying to create an image of the mac drive and had reformatted my 3tb drive to Mac just so I can place the image there. I don't know if it would work or it will jus take too long because the progress bar is not moving at all.

    I wish that were true ckuan.  I would not have to have this frustration.  The email came in at 3:08pm and this is the quote:
    "We recently announced new, more affordable iCloud storage plans. As a thank you for being a current iCloud storage plan subscriber, we’ve upgraded your storage plan and you will be receiving a refund based on the reduced plan price."
    So, NO I DID NOT ASK FOR THIS!! THEY UPGRADED ME WITHOUT ASKING!!! AND NOW THEY MAKE IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CANCEL!!

    What part of your money do you hope to get back?  It is surely unlikely that you'll get a return on any part used months, and as far as I know, you can only pay a month at a time.  Did you agree to a full year subscription to get the reduced rate?
