How do I cancel my Verizon contract online

Hi,
I have found that even though you can subscribe online, I can't cancel online? What? So I have to wait and listen to Verizon support while they try to convince me to stay? So this is what being customer friendly means in Verizon, right? 
I wanted to contact via email. Of course there is no email. But this is expected from a company that asked me to "fax" my documents in 2012 (and funnily this is for "security reasons". yeah right). I expected to find a fax number in the support page.
Look at other support options. If you want to get support for "My Account, Plan or Bill" or "My Device" Verizon doesn't care about you (you are a problem to them) so all the agents are always busy. But if you want to get help about "Shopping Verizon Wireless" they are always available. And the funny thing is there is no queue system even though this is an online chat system; so you have to come back and check repeatedly. It doesn't even give a time estimation. I smell something fishy here. (To convince people to give up. Don't contact support.)
Ah and there is the social support. They are exactly like forums but with more advertisement (aka spam). I am sorry, I meant only advertisement. But instead of being honest we call them "Social support". Can you honestly say this page is about support https://plus.google.com/+verizon/posts or https://www.facebook.com/verizon . Or are they mainly about spamming and support is only used to increase the follower numbers?
So how do I cancel online? Please tell me there is no way to cancel online so I would learn not to have any business with Verizon (wireless or otherwise) in the future.

I am overseas - and your phone does not work here, and there are no Verizon stores here - so how the happy (removed) do I cancel service for a phone I cant use, that doesn't work, from a carrier that is non present ?  ie - I need to cancel the phone online - or y'all might want upgrade your global services......

    You don't have a contract with AT&T for an iPad. If you signed up for an AT&T data plan (only possible from the iPad itself, to the best of my knowledge) AT&T's iPad plan is a month-to-month and can be cancelled at any time through the same settings you used to sign up.

  • How to get out of Verizon Contract

    I've been a faithful Verizon customer for a long long time. I use to recommend Verizon to all of my friends. However, I have become really disenchanted with this company. It used to be very customer oriented but things have changed. My husband and I have 6 phones on our two accounts. Between the two accounts - it's been one problem after another. The last issues was that we lost one phone and the cost of replacing it is more than an entirely new contract at Sprint! Looking around it seems to make more financial sense to switch to another carrier. The coverage may not be quite as good, but the service is likely to be a lot better. I have a few questions for all of you....
    (1) What carriers have the best service?
    (2) I am worried about getting the unlock code from Verizon - I understand that carriers try to prevent customers from getting this. Is this legal? How do I go about doing this?
    (3) Is there a way to get the ETF reduced if I start another line with Verizon? I mean I am just trying to replace a darn phone!!
    (4) Has anyone filed a complaint with the FCC? I understand that they are quite concerned about Early Termination Fees and are beginning to consider various options as this is believed to be coercive. I'd like to find out how to file such a complaint.
    It's too bad - I wish Verizon would go back to the way they use to be!!

    Best coverage is really subjective based on your location. For example, Verizon is the best in my area, but 20 miles up the road, a local carrier is better.
    There was a law recently passed that requires Verizon to unlock a phone when it's out of contract. I'm not sure whether that includes a contract that was terminated.
    The ETF is signed on a per line/per phone basis. If you open another line, you're simply going to add to your headache. They typically don't budge on the ETF.
    In a sense, you are blaming Verizon for the high cost of cellular devices. They offered insurance when you signed up, and apparently chose not to accept it. That makes you responsible for replacing your device, if you choose to.
    Lastly, the FCC has already addressed the ETF issue. It used to be a base ETF no matter how far you were into your contract. Now, you can reduce your $350 ETF by $10 for each completed month. The FCC isn't going to consider another ETF complaint.
    I agree, Verizon has really taken a step down when it comes to customer service. That said, I don't feel this is a customer service issue. You chose not to insure your device without doing the research on the actual cost of a device, first.

  • How can I cancel my phoneline ordered ONLINE?

    I have just order a new landline to connected at my address so that I can setup BTs broadband. However I now want to cancel the order and then reorder the landline and my broadband at the sametime (so that I can my braodband asap).
    I have called the helpline but they have said that they cannot access (or cancel) any orders placed online.
    I have trawled the website but cannot find where I can do this. I'm sure it can be done as the BT helpline recommended this route in the first place.

    How long is it taking for your landline order to complete? If it's soon I'd leave it and then order the broadband to be honest, as a simultaneous order can take longer than a landline-only order (though this obviously depends on various factors).

    Good luck with that dave.  I called the Verizon's number twice trying to cancel.  First call talked into indefinete suspend but was told I wouldn't have to anything it would stay that way unless I needed to make a call for an emergency and then would only be charged for the call.  Then I get an email indicating my account suspension was due to expire soon and I was going to be billed with prorated and current billing charges.  Mind you I was trying to cancel this account period.  I called back the support number and they still tried to convince me not to cancel and refused politely asked for the account cancellation and was told no problem but the account would stay open for 50 day's same thing you have been told.  But Feb 3 I recieved a letter stating that I asked for an account suspention and service will be reconnected on Feb 10?  I'm now realizing that without a lot of hassle, a flat out refusing to pay a bill I on an account that I can't seem to get verizon to cancel and taking this up the legal ladder if things get sticky I may not get out of this without a few scrathces.  I just don't need the service, I'm retired don't use the phone and can actually live without a cell.  Since retirement they are disallowing my discount so I would essentially be paying an extra 20 dollars on top of what I was paying for a phone I used if at all for 50 minutes a month.  If verizon had a cheap plan for low usage it would be different but they don't and the lowest is too expensive for my tastes.

    To cancel, you need to call Customer service at 800-922-0204.  Each line has it's own contract end date - and how much it would cost for the ETF's depends on what phones are tied to the lines (based on what was purchased and when) and how much of the contract is left on each line.
    For smartphones, the fee is $350 less $10 for each month of completed contract.  For basic phones, it's $175 less $5 for each completed month. 
    Note: If you are planning to port to another carrier, and you want to keep the same numbers, DON'T cancel - just go to the new carrier and have them PORT the numbers to their service.  This will automatically cancel your Verizon service, and a final bill with the ETF's will be generated.

    Is it possible that you are using the same password for the old O2 Study and newer O2 Apple Base Station networks?
    If so, Keychain Access is storing the old information about the old network and may be associating it with your AirPort Extreme settings based on the BSSID that William has mentioned.
    If that's the case, open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > KeyChain Access and look for a listing with the old network name. Delete this entry. You may need to power down both the computer and the AirPort Extreme and restart them.

    You may also be able to access https://store.apple.com/ in Safari, log into your account, and review recent purchases (and cancel any that haven't shipped yet).

    Hi,  I was just looking into similar circumstances but I want to keep my daughter's line and only suspend mine.  My question is that if I suspend my phone can I still upgrade my daughter's line?  I was laid off and if I don't find another job then I want to cancel my phone but keep her phone active.  Her last phone the screen shattered so I want to renew her contract to get a new phone.  I am thinking of going thru the edge plan since it seems the price with the discount works out to be the same if I go that way instead of paying the full discounted price outright.  Can I upgrade her phone without renewing the contract on my phone?
