How do I cancell Read / Dismiss every time I open mail window

Every time I open Mail I get a pop-up asking me to decide Read or Dismiss for every new email. this pop-up locks me out of being to do anything at all on the ipad until I have decided for every email

Try Settings>Notification Center>Mail>Your Email Account>Alert Style>None.

  • How do you stop popups.  Every time I open a window in Safari another window opens up

    I have iOS 10.10.2, 2.3 Ghz Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 memory.
Just recently, every time I open a window in Safari, another window opens up with advertisements.

Click here and follow the instructions, or if there’s a type of adware not covered by them on the computer, these ones. If you're willing to use a tool to remove it(you don't need to, but may find it easier), you can instead run Adware Medic; this link is a direct download.

One possible solution would be to organise your inbox into folders.
Its never relly good on any system to have one folder that has everything in it.
Try going to you web gui for that mail account and organise your folders and move mails from your inbox into corresponding folders for better organisation.
Several folders containing the same amount of one folder will usually load a little quicker as the folder may not be accessed to download its content unless veiwed.
So having 10 folders with organised content, and you inbox as an area thats to hold only new emails would work much much quicker with imap.
Most imap servers will only update the contents of a folder when its veiwed.

  • IPhone repeatedly accepts meeting every time I open Mail

My iPhone is annoyingly sending a meeting acceptance e-mail for a particular meeting every time I open Mail on the iPhone. I've checked the Outbox, Drafts, etc from my iPhone and nothing shows up. I've also checked all the folders from Outlook Web Access, including the Sync Conflict folders, and I don't see this particular meeting invitation response anywhere.
I have also tried rebooting my iPhone, but the problem persists. Has anyone seen this issue before, and does anyone have an idea how to resolve it?

Many posts regard this issue. Happens with both Exchange and Kerio servers currently. Points to an issue with the iPhone which leaves us waiting for Apple to fix it.

  • Certificate alert every time I open Mail.app

Every time I open Mail, I get a certificate alert saying that the following certificate is not valid:
    smtp.emailsrvr.com
My belief is that if it is not a valid certificate, then I don’t want to use it.
    Is this a TLS certificate?
Is there a way to determine which e-mail account that uses it?
Is this cert used for iCoud?
Is there a way to tell my computer to never use it and to never alert me again?
It is mostly an annoyance. And a concern that my computer will keep trying to use an invalid certificate.

    1. It's a certificate of authicity given by the server through which you are trying to send e-mail.
    2. In Mail Preferences > Accounts > Any account there is a SMTP dropdown menu. Select Change SMTP-Server list. From there you can see a list of SMTP servers configured. You can also see which e-mailaddress they are assigned to, if any.
    3. For certain I can say that this isn't used for iCloud.
    4. You can delete this SMTP server.
If this SMTP server is being used legitemately by one of your e-mailadresses, you need to contact your e-mail provider to aquire an valid certificate.

  • I am getting the "spinning colorwheel of death" every time I open mail

I open mail and get the color wheel. Mail will not respond. Ever. This has been going on for two weeks. Is there a way to rebuild mail? I am away from home and do not have my disks nearby. In the meantime, I can check my .mac mail on the web. any suggestions?

You haven’t mentioned whether you’ve tried to force quit Mail and open it again. One way to do this is Apple Menu > Force Quit, select Mail there (it should say “not responding”), then click Force Quit.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list. Leave checked (enabled) only the port configuration needed to connect to Internet and Built-in Ethernet (in that order if not the same), uncheck (disable) the rest of network port configurations, and see whether that helps — if it doesn’t, turn ON again the ones you want enabled.
Finally, try launching Mail under the following conditions (you may need to force quit it first if it’s running) and post back with your observations:
    1. Holding the Shift key down until the main window appears. This tells Mail to not select any mailboxes or load any messages upon start up.
    2. With no Internet connection.

  • Windows 8.1 explorer.exe crashes EVERY time I open a window

I upgraded from win8 home yesterday and notices I was getting errors when using windows to copy files from my laptop to computer over my wifi.
Today, I was working fine and started gettingMicrosoft Visual C++ Runtime Library "Runtime Error" and explorer restarted, I rebooted and then on all accounts I logged into, I got no error messages - just explorer restarting. I was unable

    Please help

    Hello,
    Please download this
ZIP file and extract it. Once extracted, double-click the REG file to import it into the registry. Once done, this will enable creation of crash dumps when Explorer crashes. So, the next time this happens. you should fine a DMP file on your desktop. Compress
and attach the file here. Having the file will help us identifying the cause of the issue.

  • How come I have to put in a keychain password every time safari or mail is opened? Is there a way I can disable it or save the password so it doesn't pop up every time?

How come I have to put in a keychain password every time safari or mail is opened? Is there a way I can disable it or save the password so it doesn't pop up every time? Also, I have my mail account set up from my Yahoo! account and every time I open mail, it asks for the password for my Yahoo! account. I have checked save this password to keychain and it persists on popping up repeatedly.

You don't want to disable keychain (if there's even a good way to do so), since it stores stuff like certificates and the such.  It's quite useful.
Anyways, Keychains>Preferences>First Aid.  Check Set Login Keychain as default.  When you login, it unlocks the keychain.
    That should help you.

  • Mail crashes every time I open after 10.5.1 update

Every time I open mail it just crashes right away. I've tried repairing permissions, tried shift click, and also tried from a different/new user account.
Any ideas? I have been having the same problem with iCal since I installed leopard but I don't use iCal so I never really cared.

    Try this:
    1) Quit Mail
    2) Go to ~/Library/Mail
    3) You'll find a file called 'Envelope Index'. You may also find 'Envelope Index-1' and/or 'Envelope Index.journal'
    4) Move these to your desktop
    5) Restart Mail
    6) When asked if you want to re-index your mail, say yes ('continue')
    7) Let Mail re-index
    8) You should be fine
I'm not sure, but if you shut down and restart, or do a log-out, you might go through this again. Mail has a clear bug. Perhaps someone who knows more about these particular files can shed some light.

  • Mail suddenly closes every time mailbox opens!

For the past three days, every time I open Mail, as the mailbox is opened, it suddenly quits. I've run Virex which came with my .mac account and a few files are inaccessible but nothing obvious comes up. Does my mac have a virus? Please help!

I received this suggestion from another forum and I tried it and so far it worked.
"Sounds like your prefs are corrupted. Go to /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches and delete the folder that says Mail. Go back to your Library folder, and open Preferences. Delete com.apple.mail.plist. Go back to your Library folder. Delete the foler that says Mail. Open mail and see what happens."
One last thing, if you're using other mail accounts with Mail you will need to re-establish them. Good luck everyone.
