How do I center captions when printing to a desktop printer?

How do I get the captions to go all the way across the bottom of a print that I am making on a desktop printer? The captions are lined up at the left edge of the photo and then only go to the center of the image. I work at a daily newspaper and I need the captions to extend all the way across the bottom of the page. Here is an image to show what I am talking about.
I would like to change the settings so that the caption extends across the bottom of the page. Please help.
Thanks!

The image area is what is printing. The text that is outside of the box comes from the description field in the IPTC information that is entered in the File Info dialog box.This text is added to the print when Description is checked under the Printing Marks area of the Photoshop Print Settings dialog box. Working at a daily newspaper, we leave the files as is with no text in the image area, enter the caption in the description field, then get the caption to print in the white area below the image so that we can use the printouts as proofs for our copy desk to reference when they are laying out the pages. In every other version of Photoshop this area was centered on the bottom of the image more effectively using the space. I want to set Photoshop Creative Cloud to print the description field like the previous versions of Photoshop did. Please help. This is really essential to the way we use the program. We are going to have to revert to an older version of the software until we can solve the problem.
Thank you.

  • How can I hide fields when printing?

    On a form I have created for our field staff, we have many conditions of what options will show based on different selections on the form. When printing their responses, the entire form prints, even with items that have nothing to do with the selection as they were hidden from the person filling out the form. How do I hide/ suppress these blank fields?

    Hi,
    Thanks for asking.  FormsCentral currently only support hide fields in html form, not pdf form.  So printing from a pdf form would show all fields.

  • How to disable some color when printing separations in Ai CS6-CC (JS)

    Hello Everyone!
    Configuration: Win 7 Pro x64, Illustrator CS6x64-CCx64, default printer PDF.
    When printing separations from Illustrator CS4 following script prints all colors except Cyan (as was intended).
    But when printing from CS6-SS disable the color is not possible - all colors are printed without exception.
    var adoc = activeDocument;
    var o = new PrintOptions();
    o.colorSeparationOptions = new PrintColorSeparationOptions();
    o.colorSeparationOptions.colorSeparationMode = PrintColorSeparationMode.HOSTBASEDSEPARATION;
    o.colorSeparationOptions.inkList = adoc.inkList;
    for (var i = 0; i < o.colorSeparationOptions.inkList.length; i++) {
    if (o.colorSeparationOptions.inkList[i].name == 'Process Cyan') {
      o.colorSeparationOptions.inkList[i].inkInfo.printingStatus = InkPrintStatus.DISABLEINK;
    adoc.print(o);
    If you check, you have inkInfo.printingStatus Cyan changed to "InkPrintStatus.DISABLEINK".
    Why it is printed and how to disable?
    Thanks!

  • Center Image When Printing PDF?

    When we updated to X Pro, now when ever we print a PDF onto a paper larger than the file, it always puts the image in the upper left corner of the paper. There used to be a centering option, but now there is none. How do I get it to center the images when I print? Thank you.

    Does it show full page on the screen, or a small image there also?

  • How to open PDF automatically when printing with distiller?

    Does anybody know how to get the PDF to automatically open when I print a  document using distiller please?  It is driving me crazy
    Thanks
    Mark

    I am printing to a single PS file from my wordprocessor. Distiller watches the PS file folder and automatically converts the PS file to PDF. Then nothing happens, despite toggling of the 3 options. Is this universal, does it never work?
    When I use a Windows wordprocessor (like MS Word or WordPerfect for Windows) and the Adobe PDF printer driver, then the PDF is automatically opened in Acrobat, but I understand that Distiller is bypassed. Acrobat ignores the product of Distiller -- unless, of course, you doubleclick on Distiller's PDF output icon, or right-click on it and choose View.
    Acrobat 7 (I believe it was) opened automatically for us from Distiller. How disappointing if 9 has irretrievably lost this ability.

  • Address Book - how do I remove image when printing labels?

    Hi
    Just getting ready to print the Xmas card labels - thought i'd add an image in the Address Book 'Print' Dialogue - then changed my mind!!!
    Big mistake - there appears to be no (easy / obvious) way to remove the image!!!
    Any ideas please.
    Thanks

    I never could figure out how to do this via the GUI and had to resort to a bit of "trickery". i.e.:
    - quit the Address Book application.
    - in Finder, go to ~/Library/Preferences and double click
    on com.apple.AddressBook.plist ( or just type
    "open ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist
    in a Terminal window
    - in the property list editor, delete the value for
    "ABImagePath" , which is under "0" in "ABCustomEnvelopeDefinitions"
    - save the file
    - quit the Property List Editor
    - start Address Book

  • How to realize page numbers when printing from an ALV-Grid

    Dear ABAPers,
    with resprect to SAP note 402627 ALV-Grids in 4.6-Systems
    do not produce a header with Actual date, report title
    and page number as it does from release 610 on.
    I've spent almost the entire day on searching the SDN
    for an answer on how I could produce a page numbering.
    I've also tried quite a lot, for example by using the
    END_OF_PAGE event, but nothing worked.
    I'm using the FM REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY, but even an SAP
    sample report BCALV_GRID_01, which is supposed to
    demonstrate the object-oriented use of the several
    PRINT-events does not process PRINT_END_OF_PAGE in our
    4.6C-System.
    Is my search in vain or does anybody have experience
    with those kinds of problems under 4.6x ?
    Thanks in advance
    Andreas Flügel

    I think you should be able to use PRINT_END_OF_PAGE event for the same. That should work. Use SY-PAGNO variable to print the page no in this event.
    You will have to register this event and set the handler for the same.
    Did you try this?

  • How do I maintain resolution when printing to PDF?

    I'm printing an edited file, 36" X 24", to a PDF document.  When I do, the resolution of the original document is severly degraded.
    I've tried changing page sizes, fooling with teh driver, etc, all to no avail.  Using Acrobat X Standard.
    Am I missing something obvious?

    It seems you consider the 36" x 24" as the resolution, but it's the dimensions.
    The resolution only applies to anything that is bitmap, making it look better or worse, depending on the resolution setting.
    But if you set the paper size to 36" x 24", you'll get a PDF with that dimensions and a variable resolution. It depends on where the PDF is used. For screen, 150dpi is usually sufficient. For images, there is an additional quality setting. For printing, 300dpi or higher is rec'd. Resolution can be set in the PDF printer properties.

  • How to Hide Acrobat Reader When Printing PDFs From Web App

    We have a web application that prints pdfs.  Here's the line of code that prints the pdfs:
    win32api.ShellExecute(0, "print", filename, None, ".", 0)
    When the pdf prints from our web application, Adobe Acrobat opens and we don't need it to open.  Is there a way to get the pdf to print without Acrobat interupting the user?

    Use standard VB/Windows features to minimize the app.

  • How to disable color cartridges when printing black?

    Is there a setting to disable color ink cartridges so that my printer prints black and white documents using only black?  Selecting just "grayscale" or "black and white" doesn't stop the printer from using the color cartridge to "make" black.  I know there's a setting somewhere in OSX to bypass using the color cartridge (I've done it before), but I just can't seem to find it now.  Any thoughts?

    I have not ever seen that option in System Preferences/Printing.
    Are you quite sure that selecting Greyscale after selecting Quality & Media still requires the colour cartridges?
    I ask this because I also have a Pixma (different model) which uses two different black cartridges, one standard size, the other twice as big, and I have always assumed that that is specifically to allow black-only printing.
    But if it, for reasons known only to Canon and God, also needs the colour cartridges, it can't be much!
