How do I change a component in an existing design?

I have an existing design created in V11.0 Multisim/Ultiboard. I want to change a single component to replace a transistor in a D2PAK to a part in a DPAK.
I edited the component in my users library to use the DPAK footprint.
I transferred (Transfer to Ultiboard 11.0) the revised design to Ultiboard. All components and traces were ripped off the board and the board outline was deleted. All that is left is a board outline rectangle with lots of components scattered around it.
This happens if I transfer from Multisim to Ultiboard, or if I open the ewnet file from Ultiboard.
The documentation/help says nothing about modifying existing designs.
How do I make changes to existing boards without having to start over from scratch?

Don't transfer to Ultiboard - this basically creates a new design - what you want to do is forward annotate only (which will only update the design).
Optionally you can transfer the UB Netlist only and reimport from Ultiboard.

Thank you Gilad D, Steve and Bill for your answers. Unfortunately, they don't solve my problem.
Acrobat does not have a virtual printer option for a Mac operation 10.6. The only way you can "print" to a .pdf is by opening up any application and using File -> Print -> PDF -> Save as PDF.
Any application, that is, except Acrobat.
The Acrobat print dialog box gives the user a robust number of options to manipulate the printing of a document. Sadly, there is no "print to PDF" option. When you choose "Printer" (lower left corner), you get the printer's default dialog box that gives making a PDF an option. However if you choose this, another dialog box pops up stating "Saving a PDF file when printing is not supported. Instead, choose File > Save." When you go to File > Save, it is greyed out (since you are using an existing saved PDF file). If you try Save As, you are not given the option to resize the page.
Alternatively, when you open the existing PDF file in Macintosh's Preview or Skim applications, you are given the option in the print dialog boxes to scale the image. However when you print to a PDF, the file size does not change (which is one of the driving motivations for changing the page size).
I can't believe that Adobe doesn't have an option in Acrobat to address this issue. While I appreciate the suggestions regarding InDesign (or even PhotoShop for that matter), I'd rather not drop $400 +/- for a program to solve a problem that a reasonable person would expect Acrobat to do itself.
Please... are there any other options?

How do you change the connection of an existing report?

I have a series of reports that I have to change the database connection. We had a database go down and I recovered onto our development database and am pointing the production servers to that database. I need to change our custom reports which are built on commands to point to the new database. Everytime I try to do that it deletes all of the fields off the report. Does anyone know of a method where I do not have to re-create all these reports tonight?

I figured it out. Instead of DB Expert you take the enxt option to Set Data Source Location.

Make sure you select only the exact text that is currently linked.
You can also change the link by putting your cursor anywhere in the linked text - there will be a bluish box that appears around the linked text. Then you can change the link in Inspector without having to worry about what letters or words are selected. It will change the exact text you had selected previously to a new link.

Satellite S3000: how to change a component on the motherboard?

How do you open the case of this laptop/notebook?
I need to change a component on the motherboard.
I get to the stage where all the screws on the base are off, and it seems like all that remains for access into the casing for the 'system board' motherboard is that MAYBE the strip on the front, just below the screen, should be removed.
Is this so? What do I need to do at this stage?
It's urgent that I get to do this in the next few hours.

I dont know what components you want to change on the motherboard but I dont think that its a good idea. :O
However, I dont think that you will find any officials manual how to do anything on this unit. I think only the service partner can receive such documents.

Dear Experts,
Can anybody suggest , how to control change request creation for particular IBase Component?
We have implemented ChaRM which is integrated with SAP ECC & SAP BI.
ChaRM is not integrated with SAP Solution Manager.
End Users are creating support notifications from -Help Menu- Create Support Notification.
The IBase Component is not editable once notification is created. This Ibase is copied to change request when the action-create change document is saved.
Requirement is that, during creation of change document, system should check the IBase component of support notification. If the IBase is related to solution manager system, system should restirct the change request creation.
Kindly suggest how to achieve this.

Hello Vivek,
The way to do what you want is to create a schedule condition for action Create Change Document. The action has to be displayed only when the IBase/Component value differs from SolMan. To add the IBase/Component value to the container so that it can be evaluated during runtime, you will have to create a subtype of BUS2000116 on which condition can be buit.

Hi,
To get only the changed data in the ALV grid of a WD, you need to capture the "ON_DATA_CHECK" of the ALV grid.
To this please do the following in the ALV initialization of the ALV table settings :
    lr_table_settings->set_data_check(
            IF_SALV_WD_C_TABLE_SETTINGS=>DATA_CHECK_ON_CELL_EVENT ).
You may also do this:
    lr_table_settings->set_data_check(            IF_SALV_WD_C_TABLE_SETTINGS=>DATA_CHECK_ON_CHECK_EVENT)
The above two ways would depend on when do you need to check for the changed data. If you want to check the data as soon as it is entered, then use the first method. Else, use the second method.
You need to register an EVENT HANDLER for this event.(You may do this in your VIEW or Component Controller).
In this Event handler, you would find an importing parameter R_PARAM which is a ref type of      IF_SALV_WD_TABLE_DATA_CHECK.
The attribute T_MODIFIED_CELLS of this interface IF_SALV_WD_TABLE_DATA_CHECK will contain the modified cells of the ALV with the old & new values.

By the looks of it, thats the Page Flip 2.0 component (I
havent been following this, might be a later version) But im sure
the designers would have given this a means of resizing it.
You mentioned that you tried to resize the component inside
Flash, to no avail. This leads me to believe that the size is
controlled with actionscript, either inside the component as
parameters, or somewhere in your timeline, (usually the first
frame.
I suggest checking the component parameters first.
Select the component, go down to your Properties tab at the
bottom.

The component gets activated without any errors but while run time i get an error stating
"The following error text was processed in the system CDV : Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible."
i have checked in debugging and the error occured at the statement :
lr_column = lr_column_settings->get_column( 'CURRENT_YEAR' ).Please can you provide me an alternative for my requirement or correct me if i have done it wrong.

I found it myself how to do it. The error says that it is not able to find the reference object i.e it is asking us to refer to the table. The following piece of code will solve this problem. Have to implement this in WDDOMODIFYVIEW method of the view. This thing works comrades enjoy...
