How do I change a tracks position in a playlist?

Is it possible to move tracks up and down the play order once I have put them in a playlist?

Yes.
Make sure the little triangle is above the column of numbers. (If it over another column, the list will stay sorted by that column, and you will not be able to move things.)
Also make sure that Shuffle is turned off. (I.e. the wavy blue crossed arrows at the lower left are not blue.)
Then you will be able to move songs up or down by dragging within the list.

The track number refers to the number it is on the original album that you got it from. You can change it in the playlist you have, but it's going to keep that change you made even for the original cd. You could always burn it (will be on multiple cds), name the cd, and then re-import it. If you want to change the track number, that's probably the easiest way. Or you can go track by track in your playlist and change it, and deal with it being changed with the original cd. There's no other way besides clicking on the first track, right click to "get info" and go through the "info" tab and change them manually, as far as I know. You don't have to constantly click get info, either. After you do the first track, hit next and it will go to the next song.

With the playlist open, click on the View menu, View Options, and then set the "Sort By" field to "Manual Order." Then you can drag songs up or down.
If you don't see the View menu, you may have your Menu bar hidden. In that case, unhide it first, by using CTRL-B.

That's because you scanned them as B/W photos and iPhoto 08 doesn't support the grayscale color profile. You can either rescan them as color photos or export them as originals out of iPhoto to a folder on the desktop and applhy this Automator application, Convert to JPG and Embed sRGB Profile, on them and then remimport into iPhoto. You can download it from Toad's Cellar . Be sure to read the warning on the website about not applying it on your only copies.

You are getting confused with Illustrator, there has never been an 'increment' setting like this in Photoshop
If you are using the arrows to nudge layers then it depends on how close you are zoomed, how big the increment is. Holding down the The Shift key as you nudge, will multiply that increment by a factor of 10

You can't change your background to a file on the internet, only a local file (what would happen, for example, if you weren't connected to the internet?)
The simple soluton is to download the image to your system (which you can do any number of ways via AppleScript) and then use your existing AppleScript to set the desktop to the newly-downloaded file.

in order to change the name of a bookmark, i added a new bookmark, and deleted the old one. now my new bookmark is at the bottom of the list (menu) and I want it back at the top.
