How do i change Audio sample rate to suit?
Hi,
I Just captured a small clip from my DV camera on final express 4. At the end of the capture i got a message saying that the sample rate on my source may be different to the rate on my capture and it may cause the video and audio to go out of sync. This did happen so i checked the camcorder and it is set to 12bit. How do i set the captute settings to suit??
Thanks,
Dave.
Can I ask a stupid question?
What do you mean "if you overrun" I just encountered all the above issues. First tape imported perfectly once I changed it to 32. The next one appeared to but then like jerryws1431 said, FCE quit. I wasn't here at the point it quit, but if was either after or during the "Validating Audio". Last time I looked it was validating.
So, if I have a 60 minute tape and I tape 51 minutes, is that too much to have on one tape, or am I completely missing something......
Tom, thank you so much for all this information! I would have been stuck with out of sync audio had it not been for you!

Changing audio sample rate in FCP
Hi all
A quick question, can someone explain how to change the sample rate of audio in FCP, if at all possible. Or do I need to do it in Soundtrack?
Many Thanks
AdrianYou can't change the sample rate in FCP; you can only change it by exporting it. You can do that from FCP, STP, Compressor, QuickTime, iTunes, and a bunch of other applications. Making a Compressor droplet to do this is perhaps the easiest way.

Conforming media changed Audio sample rate to 20khz by mistake!!!
Has anyone had experience conforming media from 59.93 to 23.98 and Cinema Tools changes the audio sample rate? Where is the settings tabs for audio???
There are no options for audio - you can't change anything - when conforming (or reverse telecining) clips in Cinema Tools.
Is there any reason you're conforming from 60 to 24 in Cinema Tools? Did someone advise you to do that or is this a workflow that has been successful in the past? -
How can I change the sample rate (delta X)?
Hi, I create vi which can measure resistance, it will record the data and write to a file.
however, I want to change the sample rate which is delta x. is that anyway I can do?
I have try to put a clock inside the loop, it does slow down the speed but not the sampling rate.
Please help me!!
Thank you!Hello Shan405,
Adjusting the Reading Rate of a DMM
As noted in the above DeveloperZone article, there are a lot of factors contributing to a reading rate of a DMM. 'Sampling rate' can only be configured in digitizer mode, which can only be achieved on the flex DMMs
Using the NI PXI-407x DMM as an Isolated Digitizer

Need help. Mac OS 10.5.8 crashes when changing audio sample rate.
Anyone have an answer to this problem?
Profire 2626 interface, when switching audio sample rate, crashes Mac OsUsually when I disconnect the audio interface from my computer and then open up a song that has a different sample rate, the crash doesn't happen. But when the interface is hooked up (this problem started just a few weeks ago...), I get this error, pls bear with me, its long:

How do you change Audio Bit Rate?
Hello. I need to export Mpeg Layer 2 audio with 8 bit sample rate. I can't find any place to change it down from 16.
Help!
Thanks, ChrisNo worries. I checked it out. The file I output has to be Mpeg Layer 2 audio (plus it has video attached, It's an Mpeg video file with Mpeg Layer 2 audio).
I only saw .aiff, .mp3, .wav and .mov as export options from Audition... but I could make them 8 bit. I know 8 bit is becoming obsolete, but I wish there was the option within Premiere.

Hi,
May I know how do I change the sampling rate on a Thermocouple node dynamically through a VI on the host ?
I notice there is a Config node in the "Start" case where I can set the "Sample Interval Mode" to "Host Driven" but I do not know how to continue after that...
Thank you very much !
Regards,
XinkeA user message is created by simply right-clicking on the node and selecting "Create User-Defined Variable." Once you set it up, that variable will update over the network automatically.
Once you've got that setup, you need to figure out how you are going to use that variable. You should probably start here: The LabVIEW Wireless Sensor Network Module - Under the Hood
Note: User-defined variables are only available in LabVIEW 2011 for WSN.

How do I change the audio sample rate from 48kHz to 44.1kHz for Mpeg2
Hey all,
I've been searching for a while but haven't found any direct answers in the forums or the user manual so here goes.
I have to dispatch a file to Bloomberg TV and the file specs they have given me are as follows:
Video Standard: MPEG-2, MP:ML, 4:2:0
Frame Rate: PAL 25fps
Video Size 720 x 405
Aspect Ratio 16:9
Audio Standard MPEG-1 Layer 2
MPEG-2 Program Stream Mux rate 6mbs per second
Bit Rate Type: CBR
Video Bit Rate 5.7mbs
Audio Bit Rate 192kbs
Audio Sample Rate 44.1Khz
Interlacing: Upper Field first (why they want interlaced for web streaming is beyond me)
GOP Structure: IBBP
I-Frame distance 12
Now everything above is fine except the audio encoding because even though I have set up a new setting from scratch I cant find anywhere to adjust the audio sample rate. The Inspector tells me the Audio encoder is set to:
Format: MPEG
Sample Rate: 48.000kHz
Channels: 2
Bits Per Sample: 16
Anyone Know how or even if I can change these audio settings? The only adjustments I can find are the filters or the transport/program stream option. I have it set to program as specified by Bloomberg.
Thanks in advance
JThe only setting that I could find in compressor that lets your change the bitrate to 44.1 is when you create a new dolby digital setting and then under the inspectors audio tab/Target System button, change the button to Generic AC-3. When done, you can change the Sample Rate to 44.1.
Hope this helps? -
Change capture settings to 32k audio sample rate???
I have a DVCAM tape that my client recorded and the audio sample rate is 32k. I have noticed that the audio seems to get out of sync when I capture it using the 48k NTSC. I also get a warning saying that my source tape's audio sample rate doesn't match the capture settings and that audio could be out of sync. I looked at past posts and it does seem to be the 32k verses 48k.
My question is how do I change my capture settings to 32k? I see how you do it on the sequence settings, but I can't figure it out on the capture settings.
Thanks,
John SchenkelJohn,
I recently read a post where there were four likely answers to the problem, yet I was not sure which one was the best solution.
Why? Because even though the question was marked as answered the person posting the original question didn't mark which individual's answer was the solution.
Please help future users to find answers more quickly, who knows, you may find yourself in the same situation someday. -
How can I find out the audio sampling rate of BetacamSP tape?
Hi guys
I'm trying to digitize BetacamSP tape. But I'm afraid if I might choose wrong setting...
This tape is from very long time ago so we don't know which audio sampling rate we recorded with..
How can I find out the audio sampling rate of this BetacamSP tape?
Thanks:)The sampling rate is set by the Sony DVMCDA2 you are using, when the conversion is made from the analog input to the digital (DV) output. You should be outputting standard DV which is 16bit 48khz audio.
Assuming you are in the US, your Easy Setup for FCP should be DV-NTSC, and then open the Log and Capture Pane and set the Capture Settings Device Control to Non-Controlable Device and you should be good to go.
You will have to roll the deck manually and start and end your capture manually.
You can download a user manual for the DVMCDA2 by clicking here.

How do you set sequence audio sample rate?
I tried posting this to another, but it was already answered, and noone will see it.
I am getting the capture error "audio sample rate doesn't match" and yes, I can see in my browser that the clip is 48khz/16bit, but the sequence is 48khz/32 bit. Howver, wherever I look to change the sequence setting, it is 48/16 already. I've gone to FCP on the menu dropdown to audio/video settings - it's correct all through there. I've gone to the menu dropdown Sequence settings, and it's correct there. I've closed down, opened a new sequence, restarted, everything I can think of. Is there a secret to getting them to match? And, can I fix a project already edited with this discrepancy? Its export to QT is WAY out of synch.Annoying - I can't see your post when I am in reply mode.
Yes, I get this error when i am capturing. From reading a previous post about the error, I thought the solution was to check the audio rate of the captured clip in the browser, and then make sure it matched the audio rate of the sequence. Like I said, everywhere you get to change the sequence setting, it SAYS it is 48/16, but yet, whe I scroll over in the browser, it says the audio rate is 48 KHz and the audio format is 32-bit floating point. Am I looking at the right places?
I can't check the settings in the camera until this evening...don't ask.
I'm not so sure this is not a QT issue instead of anything to do with capturing, etc. It plays back fine in the timeline. -
Change the audio sample rate?
It looks like upon export, the audio default sample rate is 44khz, which creates some issues when uploading to vimeo and youtube. Is there a way to switch the sample rate to 48khz?
Thanks!
KyleAre you exporting from Motion straight to Vimeo or Youtube? If so, Motion encodes the audio at 48khz.
I've never had any problem using 44 or 48 kHz when sending files to youTube or Vimeo. Please explain the kind of problem your having... and your workflow.
ps... You can send to Compressor from Motion and change the sampling rate. Along with that you can send to youTube or Vimeo from Compressor. -
How do I determine that my audio sample rate matches my tape?
How do I determine that my audio sample rate of my capture preset matches the sample rate of my tape?
You've really got two issues.
DV records audio and video differently and if the camera is substandard, you will have drift over long captures. Solutions: new, better camera or capture in small (max 10 minutes) chunks.
The other issue is the 32k sample rate, which will exacerbate issue 1. You can duplicate the 48k preset and modify the copy for 32k and work in that until you are ready to deliver. Then copy it into a 48k sequence, render and output.
It's funny, sometimes I get that pop up but everything is fine. -
How can I change the frame rate mode?
Adobe Premiere Pro exports my videos with a variable frame rate. Because of this long videos are asynchronous. How can i change the frame rate mode? So Adobe Premie Pro exports my videos with a CONSTANT frame rate? The original video has a constant frame rate...
Sorry my mistakes. I am from Germany.. so...I mean with asynchronous that the video file and the sound file are displaced. In the beginning of the Video it's normal, but if the videos is very long it goes VERY "asynchronous"
I analyzed the video with "mediainfo":
