How do I change my apple id on iPhone4 in iCloud?  In mail, contacts the apple id is correct and matches my new apple id.  I had to change my apple id when I upgraded to Mountain Lion in order to have calendar, contacts and other sync with iCloud.

How do I change my apple id on iPhone4 in settings/iCloud and settings/mail,contacts,calendar?  iCloud does not sync with my iPhone4.   iCloud syncs fine with my iPad and my iPad has the new apple id in settings/iCloud.  I had to change my original apple id when I upgraded to Mountain Lion in order to have iCloud sync.  iCloud does not sync with my iPhone4.  My iPhone4 settings/iCloud shows my original apple id and will not allow me to change it.

To change your iCloud ID you have to delete the account, then sign in with the alternate ID.  Before doing this, if you want to keep your data and move it to the new account, go to Settings>iCloud and turn each of your synced data to Off, and when prompted choose to keep the data on your iPhone.  When everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account, the sign back in with your other account ID and turn syncing back on; when prompted, choose merge.
If all your data is already in your other account then you don't need to do this.  Just delete the account from your phone, selected not to keep the data, then sign into the new account, turn on data syncing and if prompted, choose merge.

  • When I create a new mailbox, it does not appear in alphabetial order.  It appears at the bottom and I have to manipulate it to get it in its proper place.  This apparently started when I upgraded to Mountain Lion.  Any ideas?

Do you know why new mailboxes I create do not appear in alphabetical order?  They appear below all other mailboxes and I have to manipulate them into their proper place.  This apparently started when I upgraded to Mountain Lion.  Any help would be much appreciated, as it's annoying and time consuming.

  • I currently have Lion, when I upgrade to Mountain Lion, all my apps, music, videos and other files will be erased?

I currently have Lion, when I upgrade to Mountain Lion, all my apps, music, videos and other files will be erased?

Lion dropped application support for PowerPC. An OS may drop or change what to use to open a file, not the file.
Of course CCC is what many have used for 10 yrs now and it is or will be $20 like SuperDuper - commercial.
Always use something like those in addition to or instead of TimeMachine.

    About AirPlay and Airplay Mirroring
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). For non-qualifying Macs you can try using Air Parrot.

Thanks to the $15 Beamer, AirPlay streaming is still possible on Macs  that do not support Airplay and mirroring.
Other solutions are the Air Parrot, StreamToMe, and AirServer.

Does this involve iPhoto i some way? Seems more like an issue with your web browser.

  • I Just upgraded to mountain lion os x to 10.8.1 and I have a problem with restart my computer

I Just upgraded to mountain lion os x to 10.8.1 and I have a problem with restart my computer.
Now my computer is stuk on restart and wont turn on.
Can somone help me with it?
    Thanks.

If Mende 1's suggestion doesn't solve it you might find the following useful:
I would first reset the SMC:
Shut down and unplug the Mac.
Keep the Mac unplugged for at least fifteen seconds.
Plug the Mac back in and do not turn it back on for at least five seconds.
Press the power button to turn the Mac back on.
Then I would reset the PRAM by rebooting the iMac while simultaneously holding the Command-Option-P-R keys until the machine restarts a second time.
    Hope this helps

  • Why would it state under the "more about this mac" that i already have10.8.3 and then in the app store say i need to "resume" do you know what i mean? is it possible i already did download mountain lion entirely once? I am confused and don't want it twice

This is cause by the way the App Store checks to see if an application is installed on your system.
Basically when an app is installed it is in the Applications folder and this is where the MAS looks for them. So it looks at your purchase history for the apps you bought and looks in the Applications folder to see if they are installed. If an app is in your purchase history but not in the Applications folder the MAS says you need to install it.
For normal apps this works fine but the OS doesn;t install into the Applications folder. So the MAS sees you have Mountain Lion in your purchase history but it's not in the Applications folder and so it says you need to download it.
Hopefully one of these days Apple wil fix this.

  • When i upgrade to mountain lion, do i have to back up my computer or will all my stuff still be there after the upgrade?

Sorry i'm a moron, but i just want to know if i were to upgrade to mountain lion do i need to back-up all of my fles or will it just upgrade and transfer over. when i bought my imac i had it come with apps already installed and i dont want to lose them with an upgrade, but i am SO READY for an upgrade. any help or thoughts would be very appreciated..

You need to do both; the upgrade won't itself delete the files, but problems are likely to occur during it, and drives can fail.

  • Will my documents be saved when I upgrade to Mountain Lion OS X?

Hi. I am planning on upgrading to Mountain Lion OS X when it comes out in July. I have all the system and harware requirements. I have never done an upgrade before. Does anyone know: Will my MSword for Mac and iLife programs and everything still be on there? And will all my pictures and documents still be there? Or because of the upgrade will it be a completely new start? I am confused. Please help. Thanks

Before attempting any Major Upgrade... get yourself an External Hard Drive and create a Bootable Clone Backup of your current Hard Drive...
By far the easiest way to make a Backup, is to use something like
    SuperDuper  http://www.shirt-pocket.com/
    or CCC  http://www.bombich.com/
That way, should anything untowards happen during the Upgrade, you will LOSE NOTHING.

  • What happens when I upgrade to mountain lion from snow leopard?

I currently have 2 partitions. my mac side and my windows 7 home side.
If i upgrade to mountain lion from snow leopard will i be expected to reinstall bootcamp and windows7 home along with all my other windows programs?
What happens to the partitions? do they stay the same or does the upgrade pretty much do a factory restore and make me start from square one again?
I have a time capsule. but do not really know how to work it like its supposed to. i just really use it to store data that i do not need on my partitions at the current times.

I do not have any knowledge about boorcamp but on my old MacBook with snowleapard,
I was not able to upgrade to Mountain Lion Because of my hardware I think.
    And about tha bootcamp partition:
there shouldn't be any problem with upgrading "if even possible" because the Mac partition
    can't edit the Windows partition.
I hope this helps you, but I would do some more research befor upgrading instead of completely trusting on my advise.

  • Time Capsule stopped backing up when I upgraded to Mountain Lion

Time Machine, with auto backup to Time Capsule was working fine until I upgraded to Mountain Lion. I'm currently on 10.8.2.
My Time Capsule is called "Center Of The Universe." When the computer tried to backup, I get a message saying Time Machine couldn't complete the backup to "Center Of The Universe." The backup disk image "/Volumes/Data/Erich Bergen's MacBook Pro 15" (2). sparsebundle" is already in use.
Any ideas for what is causing this?

    Here is what it lists

  • HT5395 i didnt get imessage when i upgraded to mountain lion????

Hi is my mac too old to get imessage/? i upgraded to mountain lion and dont have imessage!

    iMessage is the messaging service.
Messages is the Application that you use with Chat services.
If Messages is not in the Applications folder, try installing the 10.8.4 combo update: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1659
Sometimes the combo update will restore things that didn't get installed.
However, did you have iChat in your Applications folder when you upgraded? If not, it might not have been included (though, I'm not sure about that).

  • Will my mac be formatted when I upgrade to mountain lion

Hello, I have a Mac running snow leopard, when mountain lion releases, will I have to format my mac, Thanks.

No. And it your applications and data will not be touched.  Apple has announced that you will be allowed to update to Mountain Lion directly from Snow Leopard or Lion.

  • I lost my saved email file when I upgraded to Mountain Lion. How can I get it back?, I lost my saved email file when I upgraded to Mountain Lion. How can I get it back?

I lost my saved email file when I ugraded to Mountain Lion today.  How can I get it back?? It has email messages dating back several years.

do you have a time machine backup or any other device that contains the emails you are now missing?
if so you can get them back that way. otherwise there isn't a way to retrieve them from the mac if they are nowhere on the HD.
also check on the email website to see if the messages are still there as well.

  • Upgrading to mountain lion, deleting everything I have on Lion

I have so much rubish on my mac at the moment, its going quite slowly and often crashes. I want to upgrade to mountain lion, with everything being deleted, and everything I have done/changed on lion to be undone (basically like new). How do i go about doing this?

Obviously, make sure you first archive anything such as photos and documents that you do not wish to permanently erase.
Boot OS X Recovery and choose Disk Utility from the OS X Utilities screen. Choose the volume containing Lion from the left column - usually it is named "Macintosh HD" - then click Erase. This will take only a moment.
When it finishes, quit Disk Utility, and choose Reinstall Mac OS X from the Utilities screen. You will be asked for the Apple ID you used to purchase Lion, if it was not already installed on your Mac when you bought it. When it completes the Mac's Setup Assistant will appear in which you configure a new account. Don't be surprised when your personal information such as name, address, and phone numbers are automatically populated. These are gathered from Apple using your Apple ID, not from any information on your Mac.
After you log in to your account for the first time, purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store and install it.
    That's it!
