In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPhone by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPhone. If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can download updates to its apps.

While you're in itunes, with the leftside window open, click on Apps. Then, look across the top middle of your itunes screen. You will see several choices: All, Iphone/iPad Touch, Ipad, Ipod Games, List, and Updates.
Clicking on each of these gives you a different view.
When you select ALL you will see all of your apps. When you select Updates you sill see only the apps that need to be updated. When you are in Updates you will see the Update button in the lower right corner.

Yes, he purchased Mountain Lion on his Apple ID. It is licensed to him. What he should have done was erase the HDD and install the system that the Mac shipped with. Erase and re-install either from Recovery Partition or the disks the Mac originally shipped with. Then, purchase ML with your own Apple ID and install.

Did you purchase or download the apps with your old ID? Apps are tied to the ID that is was purchased from.
If it is a new app you bought with your new ID, you can go into settings - appstore- apple id and then log out.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
Changing the rescue email requires supplying two of the answers. They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Change of emails has caused only Part of I Cloud to work?

I have had to change my email. As a result ICloud does show active on the new email but seems to be hampered by the old email not allowing full usage. Error messages : "Mac cannot connect to Icloud because of email (old email) issue" Hopefully there is someone that can provide assistance. Thank you.

Appreciate your, assistance and sorry for me not being more clear. My sign on to the Apple was my old email with a password. Because of a situation-- I had to get a new email and therefore also changed my sign on with a new password to Apple. The new signon (email) is working with the new pass word. Except-- when I go to the Icloud. It asks me to sign' on , which I can't--- because it references to , the old sign 'on information. Obviously the old sign'on would not work anymore, eventhough I have tried to see if it was possbile. Some how the old information on the password and sign on stayed in the ICLOUD system and wasn't fully removed when I made the transition to the new password and sign. I too was a mobileme user and have just migrated to iCloud on mackbook pro w/OS 10.7.4. Transition caused my sent mailboxes to rearrange themselves so that I have no comprehensive 'sent' mailbox as I did previously and the view on both incoming and outgoing mailboxes keeps rearranging itself no matter how many times I set preferences. One result is that search function no longer works. Is anyone else having problems like this? All was fine for a week after transition but after having an evening when my password was repeatedly rejected I had to log in and out of iCloud (as directed by tech support) and w/in an hour or so the mailbox problem began.

So... I go to the AOL mailbox, sign in as usual, the little box is coming down, and I click on save ... ah ha
If I am on another computer, I will open Firefox ... enter the master password ... and move on as usual? ... because all this is on Firefox servers.
