How do I change my Itunes library to another computer without losing anything or replacing my existing files with ones on the new pc?
I recently broke up with my girlfriend and I'm trying to switch all of my info. around to my new place and pc. How do I save all of my existing files of music, etc. to the new pc and start a new itunes library using what I already have? I don't know what kind of info. that I would need about her pc or if I need anything at all. Can somebody please help?
- Transfer iTunes purchases to the new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-part program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...Some third-party programs also allow moving synced photos to the new computer.
- Make a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPOd under Devices in iTunes and selecting Backup
- Restore the iPod from that backup and sync as necessary.

HELP!!!!
Tim's solution creates a "new" library with the same media, not quite what you want. Try this alternative:
Backup your library using this User Tip.
Deauthorise the old computer if you won't be using it for iTunes.
Restore the library into the music folder on the new computer.
Install iTunes and sign in to your account.
If you've already installed iTunes delete/move the empty library out of the way first. You can use the same technique given in the tip for the backup to clone the library to the new machine.

I will be creating a new ITunes on each computer. Do I then just plug in the flash drive and copy it to the new library? Is this the same process as I created new playlists?

How to copy backup of iTunes library onto another computer?
My primary laptop with my music library just crashed. I have a older laptop that I plan to use while I get the other repaired. I have a complete backup of my music library on external drive. After installing iTunes on the spare laptop I copied the backup music library to the iTunes music folder. However, when I start itunes, nothing shows up in iTunes. This has probably been discussed but several searches have not found how to recover this. Does anyone know what the process is?
ThanksIf you want to backup your iPod onto another computer you can download a program called "iPod to computer transfer" at the following URL:
http://www.ipod2computer.com/?OVRAW=iPod%20to%20computer%20transfer&OVKEY=ipod%2 0to%20computer%20transfer&OVMTC=standard&OVADID=29342709512&OVKWID=117472586512
I hope this helps

How do I convert my iTunes library to windows 8 without losing my music
How do I upgrade iTunes to from windows 7 to windows 8 without losing my music??
iTunes has not yet been certified for Windows 8. Some people are running it anyway.
However, before upgrading, you should back up everything, including your music. If anything goes wrong, at least you will still have your music and other files. -
My hard drive on my computer crashed! This is the computer my ipad was sync with! All my photos of my three girls are on the ipad, but how do I get them transferred to either an external hard drive or to another computer - or just have them all printed - nearly 1000 photos!
Also, can I back up my ipad with an external hard drive? If I try to sync to a new computer it will erase everything I currently have on the ipad , correct?
Thanks for your help - I am worried if I don't do something quick, my ipad will crash too!Right. You didn't read the post, you only read the title.
The title came from an earlier step in the process when I was posing a question to the systen.
The pertinent part of the question is "How to I back up documents that are stored in iCloud"
That the destination for the backup is NOT my internal HDD should be clear from the rest of the post.
And frankly, even if that is where I want to back up to, that would at least give me two copies, at least giving me one duplicate of the stuff on iCloud.
So please stop wasting my time if you can't answer the actual question: How do I backup content that is stored in iCloud. The destination of the backup is irrelevant.

I have LESS than 5 computers in my home and one of which has died(hard drive unrecoverable) how can I deauthorize the laptop that has died?
This URL http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420 only describes how to deauthorize working computers.I don't think you can. Well not at least until you have 5 computers authorized. When you have 5 computers authorized there should be an option to "unauthorize all" in your account settings.
If you get to 5 computers authorized and you need a 6th, do this and then re-authorize the others you need.
It would be handy if you could just pick a machine to unauthorize in iTunes. -
How do I move my iTunes library to another computer?
I'm sure there's a tutorial about this but I couldn't find one.
Basically I just would like everything I have on this computer on another one, but I'm not so sure about authorizing/deauthorizing computers, moving all the files, and if possible I'd like to keep the play counts of my songs as they are now.Hi Guys, you make this sound easy. I have a 2005 Toshiba with about 6GB of music I loaded from CDs on it. It is an old PC and I want to retrieve the music before it crashes then deauthorize it.
I have a iMac desktop and want to import the 6GB to it.
I read the above and tried to copy the file but at 6GB it is bigger than a memory stick or CD and I can't get sharing to work.
My Imac can see the Toshiba in the IMPORT window....but won't allow me to import it.
Would it work if I got a cable with USB on each end and joined the 2 computers?
I also have iTunes Sharing and can see and play the Toshiba files on the Mac WHILE they are connected.......BUT I want to cut the connection and have the Toshiba songs independant on the Mac, then close down the PC.
Does anyone have a simple way. It is APPLE! I must be missing a simple solution here somewhere.
Thank you for your time. -

How do you access your itunes library from any computer
how do you access your itunes account from another computer?
You have asked two different questions?
Your account is just a user name and password. You can access that to buy content from any computer with itunes, just sign it.
Your library wil only be where your put it. Yo can copy it from one computer to another, or from your backup copy of your computer ot another computer. In some countries you can download some past itunes purchases.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
