Connect the iOS device to your computer and try to make a backup

Then restore via iTunes. The iOS device will be erased. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

how do i change the passcode for using my ipad which i created when i set up findmyiphone.  this is different from my apple id and password

On both your devices go to Settings>iCloud, then scroll down and click "Delete Account". You can then sign back in using your updated details.
Note: "Delete Account" will not delete data from iCloud, it will simply remove the account from your device.

Do not try to backup directly before the restore. If you do, the backup will also have the passcode information. So if you restore that backup, you'll just put the passcode back on.
The backup does not contain the passcode.  Restoring the backup does not put it back on the phone.

  • How do i change my passcode back to 4 digits

    Hi
I had my simple 4 digit passcode set up and for some reason ive accidently managed to change it to the longer 8 digit passcode option which i dont want. The passcode lock section wont allow me to select the simple passcode bit as it is greyed out and inactive.
How do i change it back to a 4 digit simple code ???
    Help

If you have set up a corporate Exchange account on your phone, the administrators have the ability to enforce passcode requirements. They may have set it to require a longer passcode for security. Delete the Exchange account and try again. If it works, add the Exchage account back. If it makes you re-set it to an 8 digit passcode, then you will either have to live with it or live without the Exchange account.

  • How do I change the passcode

I would like to change the passcode used to open the computer.  How do I do this?

You have to restore the device with iTunes. There is no way to get rid of the Passcode. This explains how to do it. Even you haven't seen the red disabled screen yet, the only way to unlock the phone now is by restoring it - unless your granddaughter can remember the password.
Pay attention to the part about "if you never synced with a computer" . You may need to use that method - recovery mode - in order to restore the phone.

  • How can I change my passcode?

On my IPod 4 G i cant remeber my passcode to get in and I tried re synching but it dosnt give you much detail on how to do it so please explain etc thanks

Well, since you can't remember your passcode, you have no choice but to restore the iPod.
Follow the instructions at the link I posted before for restoring your device.
    If you have problems restoring...
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
If you can't do this yourself, take the iPod to an Apple store or Apple certified repair provider.

  • HT5957 iOS 7.0.2 How do I change to Greek keyboard option for passcode entry

How does one change the passcode entry keyboard option?

You may not want to do this as my iPhone is now disabled, as are a number of others. There appears to be a problem unlocking the device once a complex password is enabled.

  • How can I change a restrictions passcode without losing all the restricted settings?

We have two iPads for two boys... both are heavily restricted.  One of my boys saw the passcode and I changed it by disabling and then re-enabling restrictions, only to be shocked when ALL MY SETTINGS were reverted to default and DIDNT come back after enabling restrictions again.  How can I change the passcode on the other iPad without losing all the settings, especially the long list of blocked websites?
    Thanks in advance.

What good would the passcode be if you could bypass it like that?

  • How to change the passcode

How can i change the passcode on my Ipad?

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to force iPad into Recovery Mode

If the "Find My iPhone" feature was already setup on the device, log in via iCloud.com and remotely lock the device.  Otherwise nothing can be done.
