How do I change my pictures from RBG to CMYK?

Can somebody tell me how to change my pictures fromm RBG to CMYK? I am using quarkexpress9 to write my second book but the program is locking up on me because it want's my pictures in CMYK instead of RBG so I bought first lighthouse5 and now photoshop elements in an effort to change them from one to the other but can't figure it out. I found some directions online on how to do this in photoshop but it doesn't make sense, it says go to EDIT, COLOR SETTINGS, and then from the drop down menue select blah blah blah. There is no drop down menu, just a list which allows me to choose, No Color Management, Always Optimize for computers, Always optimize for printing, or Allow me to choose. So... what gives?

Work with RGB. I don't know Quark in the latest version, but modern print software does not need CMYK images.

You just want to reset or restore? To reset the iPad, press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button for 10-15 seconds till you see the Apple Logo on the screen (Ignore the red power off slider) and then release and let the iPad boot back up. You would have to delete the new account from your phone, sign back into the old account, turn on photo stream, save the photo stream photos to your camera roll (tap Edit, tap all the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll), then delete to old account and sign back into the new one again. (When you delete the account it only deletes it from your phone, not from iCloud. Your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in. Also, you will only get back photo stream photos added in the last 30 days. After 30 days photos are deleted from your camera roll even though they remain on any device that already has them.)

Yes you can probably delete the 2 incomplete back ups they are unlikely to work.
However, I'd be inclined to back up to a computer as well and restore from there, if you are changing your phone.

Hi all gurus.
This must be the most silly question so far in the forum but I have to ask again: How do you remove a picture from a theme?
I uploaded a background picture for the Masthead Function Area but now I want to remove it. Since the correspodning field is blank when you go into the editor you can't erase the picture's URL
What you can do is to browse to, and choose, a new picture and then erase the URL in the field. The mentioned area is then actually emptied and the color set in the field "Background Color of Masthead Function" is shown.
But, and here is the problem, when you save the theme the picture is back again! Isn't there the possibility to show the background color, for which there is a field, instead of a picture? Do I really have to upload a picture just containing the color I want to have??? If so, that must be one of the most stupid functionaliteis I have seen in the portal so far, indeed...
I'm most grateful for every suggestion of how to solve this in a decent way and not the idiotic "replace picture with another picture" way.

Hi Raghu.
Unfortunately it didn't help. Their solution with writing "none" in the field is only applicable for those objects where you have a field determening ways of showing the object. There you have the different behaviours like "repeat", "non-repeat" and "none" and there you can write it directly in the field.
The field of which I am talking doesn't have these options and hence not "none". I still tried it though but it didn't work, the picture was back after saving the theme.

In Acrobat use the Crop tool to crop half the width. (Pages > Crop Pages.)
For 11x17 to 8.5 x11 crop all even pages 8.5 left, all odd pages 8.5 right.
Do you have InDesign?
Create a new document correct to finished page size.
(Use Import Multi Page script to) Place all pages offset by the proper page amount.
Export new pdf.

To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app on your iPad such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.
