How do I change my security settings to allow me to load Firefox?
The message that the current operating system gives me when I access the Firefox site via Internet Explorer is "Your current security settings do not allow you to download this software." How do I revise the security settings to make Windows 7 accessible to Mozilla Firefox?
hello, unfortunately when you search for this error message it appears that it might be related to malware that is active on your system and blocks file downloads.
please try to run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes], [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner], [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx microsoft safety scanner] & [http://www.kaspersky.com/security-scan kaspersky security scan].
if you can't download/execute any of those tools, you might want to try to boot windows into safe mode with networking support first and see if it works then: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7

I have just updated my Adobe Reader and now I can't download and open pdf files anymore.
I tried going through the preferences in Reader, but it says that the setting is tied in with 'security administration' settings on Mac OS X.
I have not actually changed anything in the settings so am assuming that this is something to do with the most recent update to either Adobe Reader or OS X security.
What can I do to fix this?Thank you for your help.
I also found that Mozilla Firefox seemed to be part of the problem.
Switched to google chrome and this seems to have made downloading pdf's possible again -
I am trying to fill out a job application that requires me to type my signature, but it will not enter. When I go to File-Properties-Security, it says signing is "Not Allowed". How can I change this to allow signing? Thanks you so much.
Not possible with Adobe Reader.

How do I change my security settings and make them STAY changed?
I have set my settings in Tools - Options - Privacy - Never remember history - about a thousand times now, but it never STAYS set to that. It keeps reverting back to Use custom settings for history instead, which is annoying in the extreme and is ultimately a security risk.
This has only happened since I upgraded to Firefox 4.0.1 - it was set on Never remember history in the previous version and remained on that beautifully. How do I get this newer version to retain what I set it at please???? It's driving me mental!!!!Only if all settings are the default then you will see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".<br />
The "Use custom settings for history" choice reverts to "(Never) Remember history" if all History and Cookies settings are the default.<br />
If you see "Use custom settings for history" then at least one of the History / Cookie settings is not the default.
If you select "Never Remember history" then you enter Private Browsing mode and "Permanent Private Browsing mode" will be selected. -

I actualy have down loaded it I just can not oppen it. It is in my finder.
Go to Start>Control Panel>Internet Options>Privacy (tab) There should be a bar & it might work if you make it lower. You could go to the advanced tab too & uncheck some of the security blocking things

I have written a desktop application that allows a user to view a flash video presentation. I would like to put this application on a network drive so that everyone can view the presentation at their leisure. Is there any way to do this without having each each user enable the location in their global settings? Basically, if the location is not listed, then the video player I am using fails to play.
Thank you for you help in advance.I figured it out.
It's under the pop-up window. Select edit locations to select confirm. -
HT201303 How do you change your security question?
How do you change your security question for iTunes?
If you can remember them then you can login here and change them : https://appleid.apple.com
If you don't know them and you have a rescue email address set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address then go to Express Lane and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Security' and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.
You should get an email reply within, I think, about 24 to 48 hours (and check your Spam folder as well as your Inbox) -
I use Dreamweaver and Adobe Bridge to create slide shows on my website. When 'previewing' the slideshow - in Dreamweaver it opens Firefox - it crashed and the dialogue box opens telling me to change my 'settings' - it doesn't do this if I preview in IE - which I don't understand. I need help in knowing where to go to change the security settings so that this doesn't happen. Incidentally, when I am on the web through Firefox, my website slideshows work perfectly>
You can set the pref dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs to to -1 on the about:config page to disable the timeout.
See also http://kb.mozillazine.org/Plugin-container_and_out-of-process_plugins
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br /> -
