i need to change the size and style of my book in ibooks author, such as a coupon format, is that possible? If so How?

As far as I am aware there is no way to change the document sizes.
There are just the two document sizes available, they are landscape and portrait.
I look forward to seeing if there is a way of changing an iBooks document size.
Have you looked at creating a standard e-Pub book instead this format may allow you to create the document shape and size you are thinking about.

You can print directly from iBA or you can generate a PDF from the print menu and use that. Be sure to test layouts, orientation, etc. Of course certain content won't be output to a printer.
There are hundreds of printers to choose from - shop your budget.

Thanks for your note but it’s still a skinny rod that seems to disappear. Why can’t it become a little thicker so it doesn’t disappear no matter what size I have set the screen? My poor old eyes aren’t what they used to be. I do appreciate your answering and I’ll enlarge the screen so the blankety-blankety blinking rod is at least visible. Nancy

Cursor size is governed by the type size and will be be larger or smaller on screen depending on how close you are zoomed in.

CS4 does run on Mavericks. The 150:30 error means licensing broke.

Thanks. I've tried this and apparently the template I'm using is one of those where it doesn't work. I've tried dragging it as well as cutting a pasting but it always travels back to the end of the book. Maybe I can try changing the template temporarily, move the preface page, and then convert back to the original template. I'll experiment a little.

If you did not get an OS X install-restore DVD with the computer you may need
to buy one from somewhere, and you may be lucky to get a retail OS X 10.5.x
version. The original grey-label install set of software and OS X it shipped with
likely would be an older system than Leopard 10.5. Last versions of G4 Mac, &
G5, shipped with a Tiger 10.4 system; so did early Intel-based Mac. Grey discs
which accompanied other computer build models generally do not interchange.
The last OS X version a PowerPC architecture can use, if supported, is 10.5.8.
A PPC processor at 867MHz & faster should be able to run OS X 10.5 Leopard.
{With the correct disc installer, you can use it to change a password and other
things including re-install, and perform disk utility functions, etc.}
There is a chance you may be able to get a white-label Replacement 10.4 DVD
or Replacement 10.5 DVD from AppleCare or the online Apple Store (800myapple)
from a Mac OS X system specialist; these have been available yet hard to get

is asking. These aren't retail stock, are special discs for computers who could use
a system later than original old discs; these are complete install discs not for one
specific series of Mac. Generally they'd work in supported PowerPC G4/G5; but
do not replace specialized original install DVD, such as an early Intel mac requires.
You'd need to have a serial number of the computer, and a method of payment
when seeking some replacement system media from Applecare or Apple sales
and these discs are not available in a retail store. The original Retail discs are
labeled differently and shipped in a retail box with a big X on the front. Other
sources for retail 10.4 Tiger or 10.5 Leopard may be online via amazon sellers
or computer resellers who handle repaired Macs. Avoid mystery grey label ones
that were intended to be sold and kept with their original computer kits.

Either use copy/paste and then format/style as desired, or take it to Pages or WORD and insert chapters - which may still require resettling.
If you're looking for a 1:1 port, with all styles and layout intact, you may be dissapointed, tho.

Authoreware Book into ibooks author

I am in the process of converting my book which was made in authorware to ibooks author. I need some info to be given to the graphic artist for layout, images and 3d animation work.
1. What should be the size and resolution for the layout (for cover page, content page)
2. What should be the format of images and maximum size of the images
3. What should be the format of 3D animation and 2D animation.
4. Is there any other information required other than the above mentioned?
From where can I get all the info.

I am using 3D graphics for my book too. I am almost finished and I might as well share some of my discoveries using iBooks Author.
1. So far I have read that you should make your images larger than the ratio of the ipad. Since the iPad 3 has a retina display (2048x1536) render images at this resolution, since iPad 2 will downsize it anyway. The cover image is 600x800. Since no one can actually zoom in on this image, it doesn't have to be HD like the other pages. (If you see a real ibook, it shows the cover for about 2 seconds and then opens the book).
2. I have read that JPG is the best image file to use since you can reduce the file size and keep the resolution while PNG you can't.
3. WIth the 3D widget, I think .OBJ is the file you can use.
4. All you need is iBooks author, assuming you have updated your mac to 10.7.2. You must have MAC OSX lion, ibooks author and download iTunes Producer (an app to send your book to itunes) iBooks 2 reader app and an ipad with iOS 5.1. Assuming you are going to make an interactibe book, you may need iWorks 09 to make Keynote stuff to add it. You will need an audio editor and a ePub compatible text editor to edit the code (XML) to add read aloud features. (Assuming you don't know what the next steps are, you will need an ISBN number first soon after you finished the book, second you need your tax id to enter into itunes account, bank account, and then you can submit book. I heard it takes from 2 weeks to 2 months to find out if it has been accepted or rejected. It can be rejected by simply having the word "iBooks" in your text, as an example).
Hope this helps, this is an overview of everything you will need to go from ibook author to published ibook. Here is another tip, you won't get much info on the deeper parts of ibooks author. You will have to learn them yourself or talk to someone who has already finished an ibook and get tips from many sources. No one source will have all the info you need, yet. But something like: "This was explained in Chapter 5." Where "Chapter 5" is a clickable hyperlink.
Also, when I add a new chapter before chapter 5 this should automatically change to:
"This was explained in Chapter 6."
I could use a bookmark (e.g. to the first word in Chapter 5) but this would be not right.

At the moment I got a Family history/genealogy book in hardcopy (2003) it's 11 years old.
In these eleven years a lot of events happend. To get an updated family book I want to use Ibooks Author to create a digital version so you can added information to your book anytime.
I allready got all the current information till 2003 in a spreadsheet
I would like to know if there is a template/format to create digital family history book with Ibooks Author.
Specially for all the links between all the family members so they are clickable.

You can also contact Bookry or ibooks-widgets.com and other similar online outlets who are possible able to create a template to your specifications.
You could aalso take time to learn how to modify existing template to suits your purpose.

iBooks Author as an "Insert Hyperlink" function which covers, website, email, Book marks and Figures.
Portrait mode free templates may not be suitable.. but Landscape templates will only allow a short "tree" unless you use smaller print or sectionalise the families lines.
