How do I change the all day default in cal

By default events in the Mountain Lion Calendar app is all day. How do I modify this to 30 or 60 miinutes?

Is there a way to change the defrault "all day" so I don't to always deselect it?
In earlier versions of iCal (what is now Calendar) there was a preference file for event duration that could be changed via a Terminal ccommand.
Maybe there's a similar way to change it in Calendar, I just don't know what it is.
If you're asking if there's a easily accessible user control, then the answer is no.
You might also consider entering Events in Week or Day view.  In those views, double clicking to add a new event creates and hour long event by default.

  • How do I turn off "all day" default on calander?

In my calander on iPad when I add an event the "all day" functions always turned on. How can I change it so that the default is set to off?

Here is a link to the artical I read.
    http://www.macworld.com/article/162218/2011/09/how_to_make_lions_ical_less_annoy ing.html#lsrc.rss_main
also in th artical there is a terminal edit you can do to change it to 60 minutes.
Q: The default duration for new events is one hour. Can I change this?
A: Not using iCal’s interface or preferences, but, as often, there’s a way to do this using Terminal. Open Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities), and enter (or just copy and paste) the following text if you want to set your events to default to 30 minutes:
defaults write com.apple.iCal 'Default duration in minutes for new event' 30
Press Return. If iCal is running, quit the application and relaunch it for the change to take effect.
If you want a different duration, replace “30” with something else. If you want to change this back to the one-hour default, run the same command with 60 as the duration.

  • How do I change the downloaded file default from protected mode

Word and pdf show up in protective mode - how do I change the default to allow editing?

    Hello,
In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:
#Go to ''Tools'' > ''Options'' (or ''Firefox'' > ''Options'').
#In the Options window, select the ''Applications'' tab.
#In the ''Search'' field, type ''PDF''. You should find ''Portable Document Format (PDF)''.
#On the right handside you should find an ''Action'' column. Use that to select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose ''Preview in Firefox''.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • How do I enlarge the all-day area in iCal?

    Hi there,
I'd like to have all my all-day events in week-view visible at the same time, but currently I can only see five and a half of them and need to scroll to see the rest. Is there a way to enlarge the all-day area?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
You can only see a limited number of all day events.  I suggest you send Apple feedback if you think it should work differently. https://www.apple.com/feedback/

  • How can i change the print layout in i cal, how can i change the print layout in i cal

Im a franklin planner user and would like to convert to ical.  How can I change the print layout in ical so I can print task on the left side and calendar events on the right side.

    Hi Mike3232,
I'm afraid that it's not possible to adjust the print layout in iCal. Maybe you should think about changing to another program (BusyCal, etc.) that has the option to print the layout you want?
    Good luck!

  • How do I change the "Open In" default from "Photoshop CS6" to "Photoshop CC 2014" in Bridge CC? I'm using a Mac

I have Photoshop CC 2014 and Bridge CC when I double click or Open in Bridge CC Photoshop CS6 opens instead of Photoshop CC 2014. How can I change this dynamic link to open Photoshop CC 2014? Help!

Thanks Gener7, but that did not work.
I also tried opening Bridge’s Preferences> File Type Associations and clicking the Reset to Default Applications button.  Then see Photoshop CC 2014 listed next to all basic image formats.  but did not work
Also tried this: but did not work
    --Open Bridge.
--Use the Keywords panel menu command Export to save your keywords (not in the Bridge or Photoshop folders or their support folders).
    --Quit Bridge.
    --Hold down the Command-Option-Shift keys.
    --Launch Bridge.
--When the small dialog box appears, release the three modifier keys and elect to replace the Preferences and purge the cache.

  • How do I stop the all day option

Right now, the default is for "all day".  It's not a big deal, but it's annoying.  The stop time for events stays at eight hours after the start time, and things often switch to the next day.  I haven't seen an option to change it in preferences.  Any thoughts?

    Greetings,
See this article (the first item pertains to your question): http://www.macworld.com/article/1162218/how_to_make_lions_ical_less_annoying.htm l

  • How do I change the first day of the week in calendar?

I recently updated to ios 5.
unfortunately, this made sunday day one of the week in calendar, not Monday which is my preference (and the convention in Australia).
I was able to change it to Monday by changing international settings to UK, but this changed other settings such as uk version of google as default search engine, which I would prefer to avoid.
Is there a way to make Monday the first day of the week in calendar AND keep my other international settings as Australia?
    Many thanks for suggestions.
    Chris.

I don't think you can. Your best bet is to send Apple feedback and ask for that functionality.

  • How Do I Change The Number Of Default Audio Channels for Log & Capture

We just upgraded from FCS 1 to FCS 2. And, at the same time we upgraded from Kona II le cards to Kona IIIs. Here's the problem: we work almost exclusively with digital-based video formats where the audio is encoded into the video signal. Something with this new set-up appears to be causing FCP to "assume" that there are 16 audio channels coming into the project (I'm guessing because the Kona set-up offers "16 channel embedded audio" as the only embedded format). Worse, there doesn't appear to be any way to tell FCP to change the default. In fact, the only apparent way to change the number of tracks being ingested is to go in and manually turn off all 14 of the unwanted audio tracks. It gets to be VERY time consuming. There's got to be an easier way of resetting the default tracks.
    Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks for the responses, guys. I guess I wasn't really all that clear. Something to do with FCP 6 and the Kona III card is telling FCP to set up each project with 16 channels of audio - and ONLY 16 channels of audio. Anywhere that there is a drop-down or check box, the drop-down or check box is either grayed out or only provides choices centered around 16 channels of audio. So, for example, let's say I go to the "Capture Presets" tab under "Audio/Video Settings" and click on "Edit" to modify the current preset. Under "QuickTime Audio Settings," I select "AJA Kona" as my device. Then, under the "Format" drop-down, I have four possible audio formats to choose from - ALL of them showing 16 channels (e.g. - "48.000 khz 24-bit 16-channel"). Nowhere is there an option of selecting, say "48.000 khz 24-bit 2-channel." Everything under every tab specifies 16-channel. So, as a result, I can't tell it to disable the fourteen tracks that I'll NEVER use. I even tried starting with the "Generic" settings tab, used to create your own presets, and even that would ONLY allow me 16-channels - and I couldn't over-ride it!
So far, the only way I've found to work around this is to manually go in and turn off the little green nodes indicating which audio track(s) you don't want to capture. The problem is, every time I have to do this, I'm manually turning of FOURTEEN audio channels.
    Hope this helps clarify...

  • How do I change the "Open In" default from "Photoshop" to "Photoshop CC" in Bridge CC?

When I double click on a photo in Bridge CC to open it in Photoshop CC for processing, I get an error message.  "Windows cannot find 'C:\program files\adobe\adobePhotoshop CS4 (64 bit)\Photoshop.exe."  Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."
I then tried File>Open in and discovered that "Photoshop" is the default instead of Adobe Photoshop CC as the default. I can't find anything in Edit>Preferences that enables me to correct the problem.  What can I do?
CS4 was uninstalled years ago when I upgraded to CS5.  CS5 has also been uninstalled.

Uninstalling previous versions can foul up file associations, as you have noticed.  Here is a fix from a previous post that seems to work.
    Hope this works for you.

***I BELIEVE I HAVE FOUND THE ROOT CAUSE AND SOLUTION***
After looking at a new user's registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER and comparing it to the one on the original user, I found a registry value which was not changed, and should have been.
    I found a key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell\op en\command
This key was set to the path for Photoshop CS6 when it should have been set to Photoshop CC.
In other words, in my case, it was set to:
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1"
When I changed the CS6 to a CC, in other words, so the whole key reads:
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1"
    Everything now works perfectly.

  • How can I change the screen capture default filename and location?

AS3 and AS4 screen capture keystrokes create badly named files in a bad location, i.e., picture1.png, picture2.png, etc. on the desktop. This is silly, as it creates un-differentiable files. I would at least like to change the filename template, and at best also the location that they go to, but I can't figure out how to do this, if it's even possible. (The filename should have a timestamp, not just a sequence number, for example: picture_200911181234.png or whatever -- pretty much anything but a simple sequence number!)

Use TinkerTool to change the download location for the screenshots. However, AFAIK, you're stuck with those names unless you a folder action to the download location such that it will change the names according to some scheme you devise. For that, try a google search for *folder actions mac*.

  • How do I change the install drive default for Creative Cloud Suite?  I have a 64 gb SSD drive as dri

I bought another 128 GB SSD drive just for the Adobe applications.  I can't figure how to change the download destination as it download or before it installs.  What am I missing here?

I am sorry Scottcommercialrealtor I missed the fact you were installing Creative Cloud, we have had a lot of traffic with the release of CS6 and Creative Cloud, you can only customize the install location for Creative Cloud.  You can do so by clicking on your name in the Adobe Application Manager and selecting preferences.  The install files will have to be downloaded to your OS volume but you can choose to install many of the components of the applications on a separate drive.  The shared components though will also need to be installed on your OS volume.
SSD solutions I would honestly recommend having your OS and Apps installed on the same drive so you can maximize your performance.  You can then use a standard hard drive for your documents, videos, and images.  You mentioned that you purchased a 128 gig SSD.  You might consider cloning the 64 gig drive over to the 128 and then having your OS and Apps installed on the same drive.

    Yes, you can.
The GIF file must be under a directory where Oracle can read, like the %ORACLE_HOME%/Java directory. And you only specify the file name, not the full path.
    # Forms applet parameter
    splashScreen=my_splash.gif
    # Forms applet parameter
