How do I change the Apple ID account on an ipad?
I was given a first generation iPad by my son. I managed to change the iTunes account and generate an Apple ID. However, when going to the applications store or updating the installed software it still asks for his passwork.
How do I get the account for apps updates to use the correct account?
That goes back to what I said in my first response. Unless I am misunderstanding you, those are apps that your son bought with his Apple ID, and you cannot update them with your ID. You have to use his Apple ID and password to update those apps. They will not transfer to your ID. If you sign into your own ID, you should be able to download new apps with it. - Free or paid.
The iOS updates have nothing to do with the ID. If there was an update to the iOS, you would be able to update the iPad no matter which ID you are signed into. The pre installed apps cannot be updated individually. They are updated when the iOS is updated since they are in essence tied to the iOS. They cannot be deleted or re-installed.

If you want to change the primary email address on your account then tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and select 'view apple id', and on your account's screen you should be able to edit your primary email address.
If you want to log out of the account then again tap on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store and one of the options on the popup should be 'sign out' - you can then sign in with a different account. Any apps (and other content) that you downloaded via the currently logged in account will remain tied to it, so only that account will be able to download updates to its apps. You will need to delete everything that was bought with her Apple ID and buy it again with your Apple ID.
If the Mac was set up with her Apple ID it would be best to erase the HDD and start over.
It is better to set up company Macs with a company Apple ID rather than allow folks to set up company Macs with their personal Apple ID, especially if they are going to buy content with company funds. Nothing that she bought belongs to the company, even if the company paid for it. It all belongs to her personal consumer Apple ID. -

You can log out of the currently logged in account by tapping on the id in Settings > Store and you can then log in with your own account. But if there is still any content on the iPad from the previous owner then that will remain tied to the previous owner's account (so only that account can update those apps), so you are probably best off removing all content and starting with it 'as new' : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings.

Can you just confirm how you usually interact with Facebook? Do you tap an App icon (this will be a white F on a blue background if official Facebook app) on your iPad? If so then this is the Facebook App and not the built-in Facebook iOS integration which is controlled in Settings->Facebook

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

You don't have to do anything with the first iPod that you don't use anymore. If you are planning on keeping it, put in a drawer in your house and forget about it.
You don't need a second account to use with the new iPod. I use one Appl e ID and iTunes library for two iPods, and two iPad. I have different content on all four devices. You can select exactly what you want to sync to each device and it can be different content on all devices. -
I installed some apps using an apple I'd that is no longer active. I can't update them because it asks for the password of the old I'd instead of the I'd I currently use. How can I change the apple I'd associated with these apps? I still want to use them. One app I paid for using the old I'd. The other app is free. I have already tried deleting them and reinstalling them.
If you simply just changed the email associated with that appleid you can just delete and Re-download the apps.
You can verify the above step by going to the App Store on device > Updates>Purchased - if you see the app there just delete it from the home screen and redownload from the purchased section
Now if you got rid of that account entirely, you will have to delete and re-purchase on your new account
