How do I change the apple id name and birthday?

We started with a iphone 4s for my wife and used the family email address for the apple id.  Then we added a family ipad and used the same apple id.  Then we added another 4s for my daughter and later a mini-ipad & apple TV.  One apple id worked fine for all.  We are now updating hardware and adding two new iphones.  It is time to create new apple ids for each phone user with the exception of the original which should be changed from my wife's name to my name.  It would be simple to let her keep the original ID but we want to make the change since she is not technically savvy and we want to use family share off of the original account but managed by me.  I found where I could change the name but I think it would keep her original birthday - no option to change the birthday to mine.
Any suggestions?

You should erase the device so he can set up as a new iPad in Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings. Let him use his own ID and purchase his own iTunes content.
Unless you are living in the same household and share an Apple ID as a family, the apps or any paid content on the device only belong to you and cannot be transferred or given away with the device.
However - all that being said - You can sign out of your ID in Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap your ID and sign out.
If you want to change the name of the iPad itself go to Settings>General>About>Name.

Users do not have control over the language of the Mac App Store or iTunes stores for a particular country or region. It is what it is and can't be changed.

  • How do I change the apple id on the copy of Lion that shipped with my Macbook Pro?

I've inherited a Macbook Pro that shipped with Lion installed. The app store is showing three updates for iPhoto, GarageBand, and iMovie. When I try to update them it request the password for the Apple ID for the person who set up the Macbook. These apps came with Lion which came with the Macbook. I could reload the OS but that would wipe out my configuration. How can I change the Apple ID to reflect me as the new owner so I can update the apps included with Lion? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

If you know the seller, then maybe it can be done; according to the licensing agreement, if you sell/gift a Mac which came with Lion preinstalled, you are allowed to make a one time transfer of your software license. That would involve a call to Apple (I've not had to do this, but I've read that you need to call Apple and explain that you wish to transfer the Lion license from xxxxx to xxxxxx - don't know if it involves name/address or any other info). So, if your seller is willing to do this, and Apple re-registers the MBP in your name, you shouldn't have to do anything. You may want to check into this because it also may play a role when there is an OS update - not sure that you'll be able to get that with your different Apple ID.

  • How do you change the Apple ID associated with an iOS device?

So…I made the mistake of putting the wrong Apple ID (I have three – don't ask) on my iOS devices. If I try to change the Apple ID on my Mac, it wants to erase everything that I have on my Mac that is also stored on the iCloud. That is not a good solution. So, I want to change the Apple ID associated with my iOS devices (far less to lose there). The problem is that niether of my iOS devices will let me change the Apple ID associated with them – at least not that I can find.
Does anyone know how to do that so I can get my Mac on the same page with my iPhone/iPad?
    Thanks.

This is the kind of question where it helps to know what you are trying to achieve since the way you phrased the question has several interpretations.  CarolynSamit gave you one, here's another two:
Apple ID Support - http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/  -> Apple ID FAQ http://support.apple.com/kb/HE37
"How do I change my Apple ID Name or personal information?
You can change your Apple ID Name at My Apple ID. Select your country and language, enter your desired changes, then click the Continue button. Changes take effect immediately. You can also use My Apple ID to change your personal information, such as your mailing address or email address. See How to change the name you use for your Apple ID if you'd like more information."
How to change the name you use for your Apple ID - http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40
Another answer is you cannot.  Items purchased with one AppleID cannot be transferred to a different account.

  • How do i change the apple ID on my Imac

I have two apple ID accounts. I want all of my apple devices signed into the same apple ID. How can I change the apple ID that I am signed into on my iMac?

General: System Preferences>Users & Groups, click on your User ID, click on Change next to the User ID
iTunes: Click on the name or "Sign-In" in top menu bar on the right-hand side, and sign out the ID that is signed on, or if no one is signed on, sign on your Apple ID of choice
iCloud: System Preferences>iCloud, sign out the Apple ID that is signed on, sign on the preferred Apple ID
Messages - open Messages, click Preferences>Accounts, sign out and then sign in preferred Apple ID
FaceTime - open FaceTime, click on Preferences, then click on the Apple ID, then on Sign out. Then sign in the preferred Apple ID
I can't think of anything else, though there probably are other places where you might be signed in.
    Cheers,

  • How do I change the Home file name back to Home?

Help! - How do I change the Home file name back to Home? My supplier changed it to Demo. I've tried pressing return, control click and Get Info but none gives access to change the name. Any ideas?

The Home folder isn't named "Home." It is named for the user account it represents.
Who is your "supplier?" Sounds like they're not terribly bright.
Can you provide some details on why they "changed" it. Is this a brand new Mac? Were you having information transferred from another computer?
It sounds like you just need to create a new account and get rid of "Demo."
While logged into the "Demo" account, go to System Preferences in the Apple Menu.
    Click on Users & Groups
If the padlock is locked, click on it and enter your password.
Click the + button at the bottom of the list of users. This will create a new account. Fill in the information you'd like to use for your account. The account name is what will be used for the "Home" folder.
Once created, select it from the list and check the box to "Allow user to administer this computer."
You can then log out of "Demo" and log in as your new user. If there is nothing in the Demo account that you want, you can delete it from the Users & Groups System Pref.

If so, you can't change it. You can setup a completely new iCloud account under a different AppleID, or you can setup an email alias to your current iCloud account.

How do I change the apple id on my new phone?

If you want to change your iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I have purchased a new iPad and given my old one to my husband.  How do I change the Apple ID over to him.  We are having continuous confusion between the two iPads

    Hi Marg42,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
First, your husband can create his own Apple ID via the web, computer, or iPad, if he hasn't already:
    My Apple ID

iTunes: How to set up an Apple ID within iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2731
Next, he can sign out of the Apple services that are currently using your Apple ID on your old iPad, and sign in with his own.
This article has instructions for doing so for specific Apple services:

Alternately, he can erase the device and set it up as new using the steps in this article:

My wife and I each have an apple ID for our ipad. How do we change the apple ID on our ipad for Iclouds? Can't seem to do it.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

2 different iphones have the same Apple ID, how can I change the apple ID on one of them but not delete the other iphone's data and media?

You don't have to do anything with the first iPod that you don't use anymore. If you are planning on keeping it, put in a drawer in your house and forget about it.
You don't need a second account to use with the new iPod. I use one Appl e ID and iTunes library for two iPods, and two iPad. I have different content on all four devices. You can select exactly what you want to sync to each device and it can be different content on all devices.

  • I have some apps on my iPad that were installed using an old apple ID. They can't be updated because the old ID is no longer valid. How can I change the apple ID associated with these apps?

I installed some apps using an apple I'd that is no longer active. I can't update them because it asks for the password of the old I'd instead of the I'd I currently use. How can I change the apple I'd associated with these apps? I still want to use them. One app I paid for using the old I'd. The other app is free. I have already tried deleting them and reinstalling them.

If you simply just changed the email associated with that appleid you can just delete and Re-download the apps.
You can verify  the above step by going to the App Store on device > Updates>Purchased - if you see the app there just delete it from the home screen and redownload from the purchased section
Now if you got rid of that account entirely, you will have to delete and re-purchase on your new account

I received what appears to be a reconditioned iPod Touch 4th for Christmas.  How do I change the Apple ID on the device to my ID so I can use my iTunes account?  Thanks for any help/

It would probably be best to attach the iPod to a computer and restore it. This way you'll know it's wiped clean. Then, when you start up the iPod it will ask you for your Apple ID.
