How do I change the apple id that has my husband email on my iphone? trying to update a free app

The free, "Find my IPhone" app I installed says it needs updated (and the other 4 free games I have) but when I try to update, the Apple ID comes up with my husbands email, not mine. He has an Ipod and an ITunes account, no IPhone. I haven't purchased anything yet, but did created an ITunes account. Maybe it's something with that, but I can't figure it out. I tried logging out of ITunes and logging back in, same with the Iphone-settings, store, logged out and back in (and it shows my correct account). I also synced my phone.  Itunes shows my name at the top, too.
Can you help me-I'm a newbee... Love the IPhone, just don't know what to do about this.. Thank you so much!!

Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them originally.  As a result, when you update an app it will always ask for the password for the Apple ID used to purchase it.  If you are being asked for your husband's Apple ID password when you update an app, this means that it was purchased using your husband's Apple ID.  You wlll have to enter his password to update it.  The only way to stop this is to delete the app(s) from your phone.

    I need help

I'm not 100% certain what you're asking but I suspect that it may not be possible.  You CAN change the Apple ID in Settings > Store.  Touch the ID and you will be given the option of changing it.  However, this does not affect any apps that you have already purchased.  If you have purchased apps using another ID, you will need to remember the password for that ID because you will need it when the apps are to be updated.
There are a bazillion of us with multiple IDs and no way to combine them.

How do I change the apple ID that is currently set on my iPhone

Log out of the current account and log in with the new credentials. You will always get the old Apple ID whenever you update apps that were downloaded/bought with that ID, as apps and media are forever tied to one apple ID.
If you do not want that to happen when you update thos apps in the future, you will have to delete them, and if you want them back, you will need to repurchase/ redownload them with the new Apple ID.

  • How do I change the Apple ID that iCloud uses to sync the iPad?

How do I change an iPad's iCloud Apple ID without deleting that entire iCloud account? When I go to Settings>iCloud on this iPad, the Apple ID email address is not an active field, so I cannot enter the new Apple ID. The iPad is currently syncing successfully using iCloud--but to my husband's account/data. I want to enter the Apple ID that my Mac uses to sync with my Mac. I see "Delete Account" below in the iPad Settings>iCloud, but I don't know what "delete" means here.

Cancel my question, please. I found the answer: delete the account, enter the new Apple ID and save data to device and merge data, and create a new account.

  • How can I change the Apple ID that appears on my iPod Touch? It's not the correct ID.

Somehow the email address that appears as my Apple ID when opening my iPod Touch (5th gen) is not my correct email address/Apple ID.  How can I change my Apple ID withing my Touch so I can access apps?

You might have to transfer purchases to your account. If its signed in on a different account. Or,
    1. Go to iTunes on your iPod.
    2. Click music and scroll down to the bottom on your iPod.
    3. It should show the apple ID that's signed in, and press it and choose sign out.
    4. Then click sign in and it should work.
    Hope this helps.

  • HT204053 How can I change the apple ID that is set up on my mac to match the one on my phone so they can sync

I have inadvertently set up two apple ID accounts - now, I am trying to use iCloud to sync everything but my mac has one ID and my phone has another.  How can I change the one on my mac?  the one on my phone is the one that has the extra storage.

Navigate to system preferences > iCloud and sign out of your account, then sign back in using the correct details.

  • How can I change the settings so when I delete an email from my iPhone it will also delete from my iPad.....very sick of deleting the same emails two times

How can I change the settings wit mail so that when I delete my Verizon email from my iPhone it will also delete from my iPad too.... Seems like I shouldn't have to delete my email in three places...iPhone ..iPad ...and desktop

Don't know which email host you are using, but if this is a POP account, you can't do it. If IMAP, then deleting one email should delete it on all other devices.

  • How do I change the "trash" icon to "archive" icon in email on my iPhone using iOS7?

How do I change the "Trash" icon to "Archive" icon as the default setting in email using iPhone iOS7?

That is very much dependent on your Email account.
Go to Settings->Mail,Contacts,Calendars->Accounts->Your Account->Account->Advanced->Move Discarded Messages Into.
    Choose Archive Mailbox.
It may not be there if its not supported by your email provider.

  • How do I change the Apple ID that the AppStore on my iPhone defaults to? In settings I am logged into one account, but when I try and update various Apps from within the AppStore the default account that comes up, asking for my password, is different.

Eg, the phone automatically brings up an old (defunct) AppleID account login every time I try to update my Apps. I don't know the pword for this account, nor does it have current data about me.
But when I go to settings: store it shows me logged into the correct account.
    I have already tried:
logging out and logging back in
downloading a new App from within AppStore (in that case it doesn't ask me for my password or bring up the old AppleID)
Syncing the phone, confirming that I have the right AppleID account set up on iTunes
I don't want to have to delete all my paid apps just because I downloaded them long ago with an older Apple ID.
    Help please!

  • HT5622 On my Ipad how can I change the apple/iCloud id to my husbands id but keep the iTunes id as mine

I Am trying to 'give' my iPad to my husband, when I try to change my iCloud id to his by entering his email it tells me this is already in use (he has an Apple  id for his iPhone). Another message I had was to use the new email address (his) with the old password (mine). I am confused - I did not have this problem when I gave him my iPhone 4s. (That was iOS 7 the iPad is now updated to iOS 8, if that makes a difference)
    thank you

    Hi Very Baffled,
Happy Holidays!  The article below outlines the recommended steps to take before giving your iPad to your husband.  The main point is to backup the iPhone, and then erase all content and settings.
That way, your husband will have a "new" device and when he sets it up with his own Apple ID ... all of his content will be added to the iPad.

If you still have your iOS device
Before you sell or give away your iOS device, make sure that you've removed all of your personal information. Follow these steps to protect your data and get your device to its factory default state for the new owner:
    Back up your device.
    Sign out of iCloud:
Tap Settings > iCloud, scroll down, and tap Sign Out. In iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account.
Tap Sign Out again, tap Delete from My iPhone, then enter your password.
Go to Settings > General > Reset, then tap Erase All Content and Settings.
This will completely erase your device, including any credit or debit cards you added for Apple Pay and any photos, contacts, music, or apps. It will also turn off iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, Game Center, and other services.
If you're using iOS 7 or later and have Find My iPhone turned on, your Apple ID and password will be required. After you provide your password, the device will be erased and removed from your account so that the next owner can activate it.
Your content won't be deleted from iCloud when you erase your device.
Contact your carrier for guidance on transferring service to the new owner. If you aren't using a SIM-card with your device, you can contact them to get help transferring service to the new owner.
When the new owner turns on the device for the first time, Setup Assistant will guide them through the setup process.
Important: Don't manually delete contacts, calendars, reminders, documents, photo streams, or any other iCloud data while signed in to your iCloud account, or the content will also be deleted from the iCloud servers and all of your devices that are signed in to iCloud.
