How do I change the background for a slideshow?

I am importing images and adding an audio track for a slideshow. Please note that I DON'T want to create a "color clip" - what I would like to do is make the background that the images are shown against something other than black. (This is for those images that don't fill the screen completely and currently end up with a black border either on the top and bottom or the sides.)
Any way to do this?

Unfortunately, you can't. Not in iMovie anyway.
You can with an app named Photo to Movie. Think of it as Ken Burns on steroids. I've long used it as an adjunct to iMovie.
Among other things, it allows you to set any slide show background color you like. It costs $50, but if you plan on doing a lot of work with slides shows it's might be worth checking out.
Other cool features include multiple key frames, the ability to rotate slides and precisely control acceleration.

Someone else in the forum told me how to do this. If you have Onyx on your system then select Parameters, iTunes and turn off high contrast mode. If you don't have Onyx, I'd suggest getting it. It is freeware and used to help maintain your system. Good luck

The background in the area where the Menu bar now sits is jetblack.. I saved a Word document as a PDF and the background color is yellow. The Word document is white. On the PDF, the background is yellow and the inserted graphics and boxes are white.

To change the ID:
For iMessage, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive (Receive At in iOS 5), tap the ID sign out, sign back in using the other ID.
For FaceTime, do the same thing in Settings>Facetime.
For Purchasing, do this in Settings>iTunes & App Stores (Settings>Store in iOS 5).
For iCloud, you'll have to delete the account, create a new account with the other ID, and migrate your data to the new account. Before deleting the account, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll or you will lose them. To do this, open the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll. Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On iPod. If the track volume automation curve is enabled, the volume slider for the track will move with the automation curve.
Click the automation curves disclosure triangle in the track header and disable the volume automation.
