The Three Best Alternatives for Security Questions and Rescue Mail
   1. Use Apple's Express Lane.
Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services' at the
bottom of the page. In the next page click 'More Products and Services, then
'Apple ID'. In the next page select 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Forgotten Apple
ID security questions' and click 'Continue'. Please be patient waiting for the return
phone call. It will come in time depending on how heavily the servers are being hit.
2.  Call Apple Support in your country: Customer Service: Contact Apple support.
3.  Rescue email address and how to reset Apple ID security questions.
A substitute for using the security questions is to use 2-step verification:
Two-step verification FAQ Get answers to frequently asked questions about two-step verification for Apple ID.
Then:
I no longer have an email address that was also my Apple ID. Can I still use the email address as my Apple ID?
Apple recommends you change your Apple ID to your current, working email address. This will not create another Apple ID, it will only change it to your working email address. See Changing the name you use for your Apple ID if you'd like more information.
Note: @mac.com and @me.com Apple IDs can not be renamed.  If you no longer use the .mac or .me email address be sure to add your valid email address as an additional email address.

  • How do I change the email that my security info is being sent to?

I'm trying to purchase something on a new laptop and my account is asking that I answer some security questions. I made my apple account about 3 years ago and I cant remember the answers to my security questions. I also have no idea what e-mail the security info is being sent to when I click on the link bellow the security questions since I don't remember ever signing up to a gmail account though that's what it shows. I just want to know how I can change the e-mail that the security info is being sent to.

You cannot and need to contact Apple to get the questions reset. Click here, phone them, and ask for the Account Security team, or fill out and submit this form.

  • How can I recover a project that I optimized? It will not work after the fact. Can I go back in time without the "time machine?"

I'm freaking out here.  Ok, so I've spent an entire school year filming and editing a video for an afterschool program I work for.  I finally completed the project but was having errors every time I tried to export the movie.  I was advised to optimize all the video clips before exporting the movie so it won't be as much of a load on my computer during the export process.  I did that but now files are missing, all the audio and video clips are not lined up correctly, and it won't allow me to edit anything.  Also, I can't even play back the video anymore.  When I press play, I see nothing and hear audio from a completely different project in my library!  I was told to check in the "iMovie Original Movies" in the "Movies" section of my computer to recover the original, unoptimized movie file.  But nothing is there.  Now I'm stuck with a movie I can't do anything with and all the students are depending on this video being completed.  I do not have a "Time Machine" backup, which I'm regretting now more than ever right now.  Does anyone have any suggestions that could help me???  I'm desperate.

All I can think of at the moment is to use the old standby of deleting the preference file. This can often fix problems with iMovie.
Go to your Home folder <your user name>/Library/Preferences (NOT the Library folder at the top level in Macintosh HD). Similar to Lion, on Mountain Lion (10.8.3), the Home Library folder will be hidden (unlike pre-Lion OS X versions). To access it, click and hold down Go in the Finder menu bar, then press and hold down the Option key on the keyboard - the Library folder will appear in the drop down list. Slide the pointer down to Library and, as you release the pointer, the folder will open in Finder. Now you can navigate to the Preferences folder.
In your user Library/Preferences folder, locate a file named "com.apple.iMovieApp.plist". With iMovie closed, drag this file to the Desktop. When next opened, iMovie will create a fresh preference file with the default settings (this happens in the background as iMovie is loading).
If iMovie now opens and appears to be working properly, you can change the default settings in the menu item "IMovie > Preferences", as desired. Also, it's now safe to drag the old preference file to the Trash. Trashing the file will not harm any existing Events or Projects.
Note that these instructions are for iMovie '11 (the latest version being 9.0.9). For users on earlier versions of iMovie, the preference file has a different but similar name. For example, for iMovie '09 (that's version 8.0.6) the file is named "com.apple.iMovie8.plist". Earlier versions may or may not have a number in the name, for example, "com.apple.iMovie.plist".

  • Anyone attend the Keynote that knows if Flash support will be coming to the iPhone?

Hello, with Apple's goal to make its devices PC Free, and cut the cord, did anyone reading this attend the Keynote and speak with Apple Engineers, and find out if Adobe Flash will finally be coming to the iPhone?
I want to be PC free as much as the next person, and I really like what I heard about the wireless syncing. I'm hoping as many of you are that the 200 improvements spoken of will mean a web browser with no limitations, and will support all media files across all apps as needed.

  • AppleID how do I reset the email that my security info goes to. Need to change my security questions and answers.

Forgot answers to my Apple ID security ?s and I don't know how to get them to my regular email. I do not have a gmail and it says it was sent to my gmail account

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
Changing the rescue email requires supplying two of the answers. They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

    Hi Aurion23,
If you intend to keep using iCloud on your iPad, your best course of action would be to update your Apple ID/iCloud information so that you have a known password and it is associated with an active email address. You may find the following articles helpful:
