I set my external editing application to something other than what I want it to be now, and I cannot find a way to change it.

iPhoto preferences - select edit in and reselect the current external editor - a selection window will open so you can select a new one

When I go to Preferences, the only option that pops up in General Edit is Graphic Converter (formerly used). How can I change the external editor to Photoshop Elements 6? Also, can I drag and drop a photo from iPhoto onto the Photoshop elements 6 icon in the dock and do some editing and saving without corrupting my iPhoto library?

I do not remember how (if) iPhoto 6 handles PSE6 as an external editor - in iPhoto '08 you can set any program as one - try going to the preference that has graphic converter in it and selecting it - you probably will get a select dialogue that will let you choose a new external editor
It is not recommend that you ever save any files directly into the iPhoto library - if you can not get PSE6 set as the external editor then you should export your photos, edit them and save and then import the new photo into iPhoto
But I believe you will be able to set PSE6

How do I change the Not Editable flag of a variable? I need to edit the variable but right now the Not Editable box is checked.

You can't do it unfortunately. That's why it pops up a warning when you check it in the first place.
Ok seriously though there is a workaround for this. It's a total hack but may get you back to where you need to be without having to copy everything to a new sequence file.
WARNING: Not sure what versions of TS this will work with.
With the offending sequence file open go to Edit>>Sequence File Properties.
On the General tab change the File Format to XML.
Click OK.
Save the sequence file.
Now browse to where you saved the sequence file and open it with Notepad.
Search for FileGlobal and look for the offending variable. <MyGlobal classname='Num' valueflags='1'>
It should have a property called valueflags. It will be valueflags='1'.
Remove that property altogether. So it should be something like this: <MyGlobal classname='Num'>
Save it and reopen it in TestStand.
You may need to change it back to binary format from within TestStand.
If deleting it gives you problems then just change the valueflags to 0.

I recently updated Photoshop CS5 to CS6, but when I try to change the external editor in the advanced section of iPhoto preferences, only Photoshop CS5 is presented. Any idea how I can force CS6 into the options?

In the preferences select CS5 again and the window to choose will open...

Hi All,
Just wondering if there is a way to change the EXTERNAL ID that is seen when you right click on the work repository and choose edit in new window? We have a duplicate issue that occurred and we changed the ID, but also want to make sure the EXTERNAL ID is changed and not the same as another repository.
What is this ID used for?
Can we change it?
Is it stored in a table somewhere?

Click "Sign Out" of the Apple ID currently selected, enter your new one with password and you should be good to go.

In updated Yosemite Safari how can I change the Bookmarks edit view to a full list not icons

On iMac with updated Yosemite I'm unable to locate how to change the "bookmarks" view to a list with Http addresses displayed instead of icons. Any ideas?

Try "Edit BookMarks".
Click Bookmarks in the Safari menubar. Select "Edit Bookmarks"
Click the triangle beside the folder to open the folder.

You don't. It's based on the operating system.
The two step workaround is to choose the link and reveal in Bridge where
you can set JPGs to open in Photoshop.

I am rather new to Mac OS (using Leopard). I am rather frustrated, that I have not been able to find a way to change the default application that opens PDF files. I looked around the System Prefernces, couldn't find it, searched the Web, nothing. And I could not find an answer in this forum either.
So here is my question. How do I change the default application for opening PDF files from Preview to Adobe Reader? I do not want to have to click "open with" every time, I want to open a PDF file.
And how do I do this for other files also? For instance, I may want to open images files with Photoshop instead of Preview.

Hey ! I was going mad with the same question - and I'm not a complete newbie - so thanks to William for answering it - I knew I'd seen that dialog somewhere, but just couldn't find it. Text edit was driving me crazy telling me that .ppt files were screwed, now I've got em to open with Powerpoint...
In answer to your last question, Craig, the dialog that appears to ask if you're sure specifically says the change will relate to all .pdf files ( or .ppt or .whatever ), so it won't stop Preview from opening other types of files.

How can I change the application default template

If I go to Application Shared Components | Definition | Template Defaults I can see the default page template used by my application. One would think that this is the place to change the default template if wanted to change it, but NOOOOOOO..., like many other things ApEx that's not the way you do it. (An example is the order of columns in an interactive report... all those up/down arrows in there mean nothing if ApEx sets the column default order differently from what you set in the query source or the report attributes section. Nope. You have to log into the application as a developer, edit the column order in your interactive report, and save your report as the default, and THEN you'll get your ordering right. What are these ApEx developers thinking I just don't know...)
I've search around the forums but I haven't found my answers (perhaps I haven't searched hard enough).
So, how do I change the default page template for all pages in my application?

...and once there, if you click on any of the templates looking for a way to set any of them as the default you'll be looking all day. You see the default column with check marks... why not implement the ability to check/uncheck defaults right there?
Alas, if you click on Edith Theme <no>, then you can set the default template. It's a little link to the right under Tasks.
My bad for still not understanding the way the ApEx interface works. It certainly isn't intuitive to me, but that's just me. Hopefully I'll get better.

I installed Windows 10 Technical Preview with original language settings for the US region.
No that I need my Windows localized to Espanol - Spanish.
I type "language' in Cortana, select Add language to this device and click Add a language on the Region & language.
Then I select added language and click Set as primary.
After the restart I see that while Windows Explorer is displayed in Spanish, Start menu is displayed in English (including app sections such as Explore Windows), as well as Modern apps that have retained their English names (such as Mail).
I even set the location to Spain in regional settings (although I didn't like the idea, as I want to browse the US market). To no avail.
How do I change the language of the Start menu and modern apps?

Okay, I ran the in-place upgrade and it worked!
What I did:
1. Downloaded and attached Espanol edition of Windows Setup ISO.
2. Started setup.exe from that ISO.
TIP: If need be, you can downgrade your installation of Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview to Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview by changing two registry values, EditionID and ProductName. You may use the following registry file on Windows 10 Enterprise
Technical Preview:

How can I change the default application for a content type?

Running a version of Linux, the default application for PDF files is "Use Document Viewer (default)", which appears to be /usr/bin/evince. I'd much prefer to use /usr/bin/okular; how can I change the default. This question is NOT about how to change the function that is automatically applied when I access a link, in this case "Preview in Firefox", but rather to the default application that I can select when I download a file being viewed in Firefox's previewer.

This is real progress, a solution to the problem as posted. The command:
xdg-mime default okularApplication_pdf.desktop application/pdf
makes okular the default.
However when I added okular to the choices for applications in:
* Edit>Preferences>Applications>PDF
the popup box that appears when I click Download on the preview page changed. The pulldown menu that appears next to "Open with" used to have 3 entries:
# Document Viewer (default)
# Acroread
# Other
Now it has only 2:
# Okular (Default)
# Other
I'd like it to read
# Okular (Default)
# Acroread
# Other
How can I control the entries in this pulldown list?
Also, how can I make the default choice in the popup box be

How to change in External Editing from Edit in CS4 to CS5?

In LR 3.2 (was also in 3.0) Preferences/External Editing it says in the top position "Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS4" even after reinstalling LR 3.2.
Originally I had installed CS4 and LR 2.7, then I installed CS5 and LR 3.0 but the top position remained with edit in PS CS4. Then I added CS5 as an additional external editor in the Preferences/External Editor, so far ok.
The problem: If I want to "Merge to HDR in PS" it goes to CS4 and not to CS5. I assume that it would go to CS5 if CS5 would be in the top position but I can't find out how I could change the top position from CS4 to CS5. Any hint would be appreciated as long as it does not say to reinstall CS5 and LR3.

It's a common problem. You'll need to reinstall CS5 as the Lr is getting the wrong key.

Touch Apps > My music
While the music is playing, touch the phone Menu Key > More > Use as ringtone
The ringtone is set as your default incoming call ringtone and copied to your Phone ringtone list.

Touch Settings
Touch Sound
