How do I change the PDF order in a portfolio?

I have been creating a PDF portfolio and would like to know how to change the specific order of the files as they appear in the carosel. I have tried all of the view modes, dragging and dropping doesn't work, renaming and adding 1,2,3 or a,b,c doesn't work.
I just want to be able to place the pdfs in a specific order. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to change the name and then change the Initial Sort order.

Someone else in the forum told me how to do this. If you have Onyx on your system then select Parameters, iTunes and turn off high contrast mode. If you don't have Onyx, I'd suggest getting it. It is freeware and used to help maintain your system. Good luck

I've recently hit a problem with the Save and Open dialogs in Mavericks. Some how I have changed the sort order within the Column View so that it sorts by modified date and no longer by name. Unfortunately I can't work out how that happened or how to get it back so that it sorts by Name.

Hello. Perhaps this is because you are trying to arrange the order of many VPN services, since only one VPN service can be selected at once in System Preferences. In my original post, I did not mean that; I meant that I wanted to arrange the order of VPN configurations within a VPN service. In this screenshot, I have one VPN service only:
And in the following one, it is shown that there are more than one VPN configurations within that VPN service:
Furthermore, it was the order of VPN configurations that I wanted to change, not the order of VPN services. If you are trying to change the order of VPN services, I do not have a solution.

How can I change the preference order of stored wi-fi networks? (My iPhone keeps trying to connect to a weaker network that I occasionally use - even when there's a stronger network stored in the system which I want to rank higher)

If you know and have entered and connected successfully to the weaker network whenever you come near it it will automatically connect to it.
If you want it to connect it to the stronger network you should go to the wireless settings and connect to the stronger one when both the networksare in range.this will make your stronger network as the default network connection.

How do I change the PDF reading order without changing the image color or Lists?

When I change the reading order in a PDF (created using InDesign), some images are getting darker. Any idea how to change this back (no, CTRL+Z doesn't work) or prevent it from happening?
On a related topic, my PDF passes the 508 compliance check before I change the reading order, but afterwards the Lists have errors. I cannot figure out how to fix these errors manually.

With the playlist open, click on the View menu, View Options, and then set the "Sort By" field to "Manual Order." Then you can drag songs up or down.
If you don't see the View menu, you may have your Menu bar hidden. In that case, unhide it first, by using CTRL-B.

How I can change the z-order of objects?

I'm creating subform that contains "tabs", I want to change the z-order of the a tab when it's clicked to be on top of other tabs.
it seems instanceIndex does not work or it wan not mint for this kind of visual effects.
Any idea on how this can be achieved?

Simple. Use the reorder button on the toolbar.

How do I change the Sort order for Music Video's on the iPad

Hi All,
Apologies if this has been dealt with elsewhere - I can find posts about sort order for TV Shows and Movies but not Music Video's.
When I sync my music video's the appear in Track order in the video app and I cannot find how to change the sort order to 'by Artist' (or any other order come to that).
Any ideas please>

How do you change the movie order in iDVD?

I'm doing a video showreel and need to change the running order of movies that I'm using. My menu page lists the 4 movies in a vertical list, which is fine, except I'd like to move the last one up the running order in the menu.
I assumed you'd drag it, but that doesn't work. Can anyone help?

You can drag the sub-item (movies) back into the parent item and it will place the item you dragged into it at the "end" (on the right looking at it in the top-down tree view.) You cannot put the first item on the end, but you can get around this by putting it into a child node and then back into the parent node.

I'm using itunes 7.5 and I don't see any way of changing it. I think certain items and groups are ordered by default. However, you can change the name of things and thereby change the alphabetical order. Putting things like an empty space or a special character like * in front of a name will also change the ordering without notably changing the appearance of an item.

How do I change the album order to "oldest-first" in my iPhone music player?

Ok, so up until my last update to iOS 7.1 when I opened an artist in my music player it would list their albums from the oldest to the newest, but since I updated to the new version, albums of any particular artist are listed from newest-to-oldest. I know how to change this order with podcasts, that's easy enough, but how to I change back to "Oldest first" for the music player? Please tell me this is possible, I much prefer to listen to bands' music in order.

Unless you opt to create a playlist and manually order the tracks, you can't.

How do you change the sort order of mp3 songs?

I have transfered MP3 files from my PC to itunes & iPod and created my own compilation albums for some of my favourite artists. However I would like to change the order of the songs but I dont know how to do this. I cant see what itunes or the ipod is using to determine the sort order!

tinny's advice will work if you gave them an album name and they are actually listed in your library as an album. (Under Get Info, just tell it track 1 of 10, 2 of 10, etc.)
IF you created a playlist for the album, click on the column for the track numbers and then click and drag the songs into the order you want.
