How do I change the pixel size when converting Word doc to .pdf?

When converting a Word Document to .pdf the file size is too large. How do I reduce the pixel size?

Typically a Word file's content is text which has not image association.
For whatever images might be in the Word file you'd want to adjust image resolution in an image editor prior to bringing the image into the Word file from which the PDF is made.

  • How do I change the pixel size of my photos?

    Hello,
Please give me step by step instructions on how to change the pixel size of my photos from the time I log in.
    Thank you.

    There are basically two ways.
Image>Image Size... This will adjust the quality of the image, allowing you to adjust the pixel dimensions and keep the full image.
In the tool bar on left side of screen 5th icon down looks like a sliding picture frame. That is the crop tool, that will adjust the pixel size of a document by removing a portion of the image, allowing you to get rid of portions of the image you do not want.
There are some other ways to accomplish the above, but these are the basics that everyone needs to know. I recommend playing with these tools on a copy of an image, that way you won't be afraid of destroying an image.

  • How to retain the hyperlinks when converting Word doc to PDF?

For adobe acrobat 9 pro, I can't figure out how to keep the hyperlinks working. If I create pdf from word doc by save as, it can't embed fonts, but links work. If I use "print" in word, it embeds fonts, but some hyperlinks didn't work. What to do to keep fonts embedded and links working? It drove me crazy! HELP!!!

Depends on the version of WORD. With OFFICE 2007, go to the Adobe menu and select Create PDF (this is PDF Maker). That will save the links. A similar process is needed for OFFICE 2003. With OFFICE 2010, you will have to upgrade to AA X or add them in Acrobat manually.

  • Font changes when converting Word doc to PDF

I have Acrobat 9 and MS Office 2007. When I convert to PDF a Word doc with Heading 1 set to Arial Bold, the Heading 1s does not convert correctly. The font style, size, and bold all change. If I change the Heading 1s to just Arial the Heading 1s convert to PDF just fine. Any else run into this?

Yes.  I found it will work okay if you select a regular font and then select bold.  Don't select a BOLD FONT type.

  • When converting word doc to pdf, my images with text only show the background color of the text box.

I have a word doc that I am trying to conver to pdf.  I have jpegs with text boxes on top of them on one page.  It looks great on the screen but after I convert to pdf, the text boxes only have half the text, the first half of the text box is just white - the background color.  If I take the background color out of the text box, the text converts over fine but I need the background color.
I have tried many things here on the print settings, standard, high quality print, unchecking the compression on the images.  Any help?

  • Trouble with margins when converting Word doc to PDF

When I convert a word document to a PDF (using Print >> Save as PDF), the resulting PDF (in Preview) cuts off my page numbers which are centered at a half-inch from the bottom. They have to stay there. I've tried changing the non-printable area to "User Defined" at 0 but that didn't work. Any help would be much appreciated!

  • When converting word doc to pdf with Acrobat words getting cut off?

    Hi all,
As you can see from this example:
When converting from word document the words on the pages in the final PDF are getting cut off on the edge of the page?
I've adjusted the margins in page layout in MS Word to Normal, Moderate & Wide etc, etc
Never ever had this problem before...does anybody have any idea why or what I could do?
    Thanks in advance.

As a quick check, set the printer to the Adobe PDF printer in WORD and then check for the proper operation. Also be sure the paper dimensions and orientation of your document and the printer properties match up (I have had some problems with the orientation when I have auto-rotate on). You may have to play some to get something to work. I have done that before and settled on a process that works for me, but I can't claim it all makes perfect sense. To many things are going on in some sense.

  • When converting Word Doc to PDF Acrobat converts all words and tables but will not convert graphs

This is very confusing; what actually coverted the document - Word, Acrobat, or CreatePDF (now renamed to "Adobe PDF Pack") ?
    Either way it's not an Adobe Reader problem;
if Word: post in the Microsoft Word forum
if Acrobat: post in the Adobe Acrobat forum
if ExportPDF: post in the ExportPDF forum

I realize that many word processors have an option to turn off the printer metric use. I finally found it in OFFICE 2007 and it is indeed off. It is not off in OFFICE 2003. Though it is available to folks, it is far from an obvious option in WORD. In the word processor I use it is NOT an option and there is actually a warning in the help about the printer metrics. The fact that there may be a switch in a package is not a given and the information I provide is not incorrect, though adding a comment about a switch option is reasonable.
Yes it's on in prior versions that wasn't ny uncertainity. I wasn't positive it was off in Office 2007. Why do you make a strawman argument over something that isn't the point of contention ? <sigh>
You were incorrect. Printer Metrics is the only answer because it's a global switch. You're not helping by telling people to use a solution that's not permanent. It's a clumsy hack.

  • How do you change the ont size

How do you change the font size for one word ?

Basically, you need to wrap the word in a <span> tag, and apply either a class or an inline style to the span. Using a class is better because you can reuse it in other pages, or other parts of the same page. Also, changing the font size in the class will apply the changes to all instances of the class. With an inline style, you have to change each one individually.
To wrap a word in a <span> tag, select the word, then press Ctrl+T (Cmd+T on a Mac) to bring up the Wrap Tag dialog. Type "sp" (without the quotes), and press Enter twice. Then create a class using the CSS Designer. Apply the class to the word by selecting it again, and select the class from the Class drop-down menu in the Property inspector.
To create an inline style, select the word, and click the CSS button on the left of the Property inspector. Select the font size you want from the Size drop-down menu. If the size you want isn't listed, just type the value in the Size field.

  • How do I change the font size of a document when I PRINT?

How to I change the font size of a document when I print it?

To specifically and fully answer your question, no, you absolutely cannot change the “font size” as a function of print.
First of all, there isn't a single “font size” associated with a PDF file (and we assume you are referring to a PDF file since this is an Acrobat forum).
Secondly, PDF is a final form file format meaning that the content is static in terms of location, size, etc. on the page. To change the point size of any particular text, you really need to go back to the source document and make the changes there.
