Hello, i bought a Qosmio X300-01U from bestbuy in Canada about a year ago and i would like to know a few things about upgrading it.
1. Can i upgrade the processor from my old P7350 to a Quad core processor or a core 2 extreme processor that supports my motherboard(PM45)?
2. If i can upgrade it, do i need to install an additional fan (since there is an empty slot for another fan.)
3. Is there any additional hardware i need?
4. Would the performance boost be significant?
5. Finally, would this upgrade cause any problems?

As mentioned in the Toshiba document, the CPU can be removed and another CPU could be installed but the question is; would the BIOS support the new CPU?
The point is that other modules are not tested and nobody can say how the BIOS would handle new CPU
The other point is the heat dissipation created by stronger CPU.
The cooling modules are not designed for stronger CPUs and in worst case the notebook would overheat
Therefore its not recommended to upgrade the CPU

I think nobody here can answer your question because here you can talk with normal people like you and me For such technical questions you should contact an authorized service provider.
But I dont understand why you want to upgrade the CPU I doubt that this will bring a strong performance boost.
In my opinion every Qosmio X300 is fast enough for all applications and I dont see a reason for making such a risky upgrade.

If you did not get an OS X install-restore DVD with the computer you may need
to buy one from somewhere, and you may be lucky to get a retail OS X 10.5.x
version. The original grey-label install set of software and OS X it shipped with
likely would be an older system than Leopard 10.5. Last versions of G4 Mac, &
G5, shipped with a Tiger 10.4 system; so did early Intel-based Mac. Grey discs
which accompanied other computer build models generally do not interchange.
The last OS X version a PowerPC architecture can use, if supported, is 10.5.8.
A PPC processor at 867MHz & faster should be able to run OS X 10.5 Leopard.

or computer resellers who handle repaired Macs. Avoid mystery grey label ones

I'm not sure if this is the right neighborhood to post this question, but here goes. How do I change the default software that opens when I click on a document icon. I've been without MSWord for a long while, so all my word processing docs have been written in TextEdit, the stock mini-word processor that comes with OSX. Now I have MSWord and I no longer need TextEdit. Even more importantly, I'd like Word to automatically open when I click on a doc created in TextEdit. Adding ".doc" at the end doesn't do it. It's still refers to TextEdit to open the document.
Any advice?

Select a document of that type in the Finder, choose Get Info from the File menu, change the application under Open With, click on Change All, and confirm your action.

When I try to start the Runtime project (Employee side) I find the Processors Table in "Create Time-off Request" screen.
The Approver name is not correct is not what I expected!
1) How can I change (in the Design Time project/area) the Approver and HR Consultant parameters?
2) How can I hide (in the Runtime area) the Processors Table?
Furthermore, I would like to have more information about the Parameters Consolidation meaning. Could you help me to catch this meaning?

How does one change the date format for PlayMemories Home folders?

I am using PlayMemories Home Version 2.0.00.11271 and have many folders within it which contain only photographs imported from my Sony DSC-H9. Unfortunately, PlayMemories Home insists upon dating all folders in a month/day/year manner; and this makes little sense if one wishes to have the folders listed in logical chronological order. How can I change the date format to year/month/day? Changing the name of each folder, one by one, will take a very long time! Your helpful advice in this matter will be greatly appreciated. I too thought that the folder naming format was obviously wrong and couldn't find a way to change it. I do agree that placing photos in folders according to when they were taken is a great idea. I had been considering writing some software to do just that. After discovering that PlayMemories does it, I had it re-import all my photos. Then I wrote a small Perl script to rename all of the folders into year-month-day format. Included here is the Perl script. It only acts on a single folder - use it on the root folder where all the PlayMemories folders are. It will rename all folders currently in a month-day-year format. I used it without problems but of course there is no guarentee that it is error free. This should work with any common version of Perl. How do I change the partition scheme to use GUID partition Table so I can get Snow Leopard to download on my 10.5 disk.
When I insert the disk it asks me to select the disk where you want to install MAC OS X.It only give me one option the 10.5.
when I click on it it says...
"10.5" can't be used because it doesn't use the GUID Partition Table scheme.
Use Disk Utility to change the partition scheme. Select the disk, choose the Partition tab, select the Volume Scheme and then click Options.

The GUID partition option is one of three possible choices (click the "Options" button in the Partition") menu - be careful to have a full backup as changing the partition scheme will force an erasure on the disk. Take a look at this Apple support article for more complete information:
Firmware updates for Intel-based Macs require a GUID partition scheme - Apple Support
Ignore the stuff about firmware updates and just look at the changing GUID partition scheme.
Good luck - and don't forget about the full backup BEFORE making this sort of change.

You can't change the display in the Mail app, if you are holding the iPad in landscape orientation then the left-hand third will be for navigation, and the right-hand two-thirds will be an email. If you hold the iPad in portrait orientation then the navigation section becomes a drop-down section.

I have Firefox 11.0 and Windows 5.1 (2007). In Firefox, I click on FILE in the Menu Bar, then OPEN FILE (Ctrl+O), and I see a small box; it says Look in: Mozilla Firefox. Below is a selection of files within the folder Mozilla Firefox. To the left is a column of four other folders: Downloads, My Computer, John, Lori. The last two are obviously two of the folders I've created on my computer, using Windows. But I don't know how they got here! I have no recollection of customizing this particular Firefox menu option by adding those folders, nor can I figure out what to do in order to further customize it. Can anyone tell me: (1) how can I change the original "Look in" option so that it opens with something other than "Mozilla Firefox" (which, after all, I never need to access)? This sounds like a Windows thing ( You can post a photo and I can tell you for certain). Those folders are Windows system created folders that your computer has had since it was installed, all Firefox does is use the Windows File picker, which is what you see when you open that window. So, to customize you'd have to do that from Windows Explorer (not Firefox).
The Window should however remember what folder you were in last.

How does one change the font size for folders and/or file lists in the '''Bookmarks''' Library?
Since the upgrade to version 9.0.1 of Firefox, the Bookmarks feature changes are confusing me. They seem to be confusing themselves as well. The list of bookmarks has changed. The font size is so small that my aging eyes cannot read it without fogging the screen with my breath. Some folders are out of alphabetical order (where I know they were previously good), and some are missing altogether (folders to which I frequently add references).
As for missing or deranged files or folders, was there something that I should have done or now need to do to recover those after the upgrade (or before)?
With regard to font size,
1. there is no “Edit Bookmarks” or like option to edit the list in this version
2. the “zoom” option in the “view” list of functions is greyed out when in “Show All Bookmarks” window
3. expanding the browser window has no effect on font size
4. “Preferences” settings for font size has no effect in that window either, including advanced settings
5. “Help” offers none that I can find.
Can any of you Help?!?
