    Can't be done. You need an internet connection to activate an iPod after restoring.
    If your restore via wifi (settings>General>Reset>Erase all setting and connect) yo either need to connect to the internert via wifi or connect to a coputer and setup via iTunes. The computer requires an internet connection

    I've cleared my macbook. A ghost I believe it's called, but when I get to the 4 options, Get online help, Download 10.7 and Disk Utility and the other option. I dont kno what do. When I agree to download 10.7 it says i needa login with my apple id so i login it but it says i have not purchased 10.7. All I have to do is purchase 10.7 with my apple ID and then go back to that option and it will download 10.7 and I can use my mac as if it was brand new? Because I cleared my hard disk so I have max GB now.

    Apple Specialists will not provide help with homework. There's plenty of info about Apple on the internet and in books and articles. If you have a specific technical question, searching this forum might yield an answer.

  • How to fix "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID"?

    I am well versed in doing updates on the App Store for my Macbook Pro.  So, when an update for iMovie and iPhoto is pending, I went to the App Store application, clicked Update All (and also later one just Update for each app individually), entered the usual Apple ID which I've done several times.  I wait a few seconds and then it says
    "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID.  This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."
    This is odd because I've only had one Apple ID ever associated.  I restarted the computer, logged in and out of iCloud, etc.  Still doesn't download the iMovie and iPhoto update for me.
    Any suggestions or ideas what happened?  Help!

    Please test after each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
    Select the Purchases page in the App Store and locate the app(s) in your purchase history. If there's a button marked  ACCEPT on the right, click it.
    Step 2
    If you're trying to update iLife or iWork apps that were installed from a purchased DVD, or if you have a refurbished Mac bought directly from Apple, contact App Store customer service for a redemption code. You may be asked for the part number of the DVD.
    Step 3
    From the App Store menu bar, select
    Store ▹ View My Account
    Enter your Apple ID password at the prompt. At the lower right corner of the window that opens, click the Reset button. Close the window.
    Step 4
    If you have a used Mac, the bundled apps were linked to the original owner's Apple ID and can't be transferred to you. Reportedly, customer service has issued redemption codes to some second owners who asked, but it's not guaranteed.
    Step 5
    Delete the app(s) you want to update and reinstall them.

    I asked the Apple store's live chat if on new computers without Front Row and if I get the remote whether I would still be able to select a movie and play it from iTunes with the remote. They said yes. So I pose the question here: How?
    When I try the Play button, iTunes opens in the background. Up and down buttons change volume. Depending on if Music, Movies, or even Books are selected under the Library sidebar, back/forward buttons either switch songs, switch movies (with aparently no abaility to switch tracks in a movie), or nothing. If Movies were selected and one starts playing, there is no way to close it without going back to the computer. This is fairly ******** functionality that doesn't quite match what the Apple rep told me. So again I ask: How?

    That series of *'s up there was the word re tar-ded. I obviously meant it in the verb's sense as "held back" and not saying the software is mentally unfit....

    Hi, I used to be able to use Paypal to pay for iPhone apps in the app store.  Recently, when I try to buy or download a free app, I get an error message that says Paypal is not supported on my iPhone. I also have the Paypal app downloaded on my phone to use it for non-app store personal transactions  I can use Paypal successfully for other transactions such as Amazon, etc. If it matters, the change occurred on my iPhone because I disputed a Paypal transaction for the Apple Store, and when the situation was being resolved i received a message (email maybe? I forget) asking me if I wanted to stop using that vendor. I misunderstood the question, and  I chose "Yes," but did not realize it would mean Paypal was removed from my iPhone. How do I get my iPhone to support PayPal again? Thanks.

    Menel, thank you, you got me headed on the road to fix this. To solve the "Paypal is not supported on this iPhone" problem, do Not go to apple.com, it will not help you. To fix the "Paypal not supported" problem:  Open iTunes on a computer (Not on your iPhone)  >  Store  >  View my account (and notice the email address next to it, is it correct?, it doesn't matter, go to the next step)  >  Enter your iTunes password  >  Payment type,click "edit"  >  (now look at the email address associated with the Paypal icon, is it correct?, it doesn't matter, go on to the next step)  >  click the Paypal icon (it will take you to Paypal website)  >  log into Paypal  > click Agree and Continue  >  make sure it says "You have successfully created a billing agreement."  Now go to your iPhone and download an app to make sure everything works correctly again. Yeah!!
    If you have more than one Paypal account, and you want to use a different Paypal account than the one associated with the email address that appears as you go through these steps, when you get to the step >  Payment type, click "edit" >  (now look at the email address associated with the Paypal icon, is it correct?), IF YOU WANT A DIFFERENT PAYPAL ACCOUNT  >  click "To choose a different account click here" (It will take you to the Paypal website)  > change the email address listed to the address that is associated with the Paypal account you prefer to use, then log into Paypal using the password for that updated account address >  click Agree and Continue > make sure it says "You have successfully created a billing agreement." Now go to your iPhone and download an app to make sure everything works properly again.
