How do i chat while video is on
I'm new to skype and dont know how to chat while the video is on. Is there a button somewhere i need to push? I have a windows 8.1 computer. I see peoples messages in some kind of popup cloud but dont know how to respond with writing. can someone please help? I think its called a chat log but not sure. Thank you

How to create "transition" while FLV Videos load before and during "chaining" or "looping"
The Status:
OK, I now have Action Script 3 that will work for chaining FLV videos... or Looping an FLV video.
But when one video ends there is a short pause before the next one loads and starts... the progress bar for the Flash Player displays diagional green lines... and it is simply not a smooth transistion.
This happens when chaining or when looping.
And, even though I'm doing a progressive download... where the video starts very quickly... and plays while it downloads... there is a short delay at the start. That is not as noticable as the break between videos or when looping back to replay the same video.
The Question:
Is there a way to create a visual transistion... say a rotating object... or something to keep the motion/action going during that short interval?
I've seen something like this before... like two (broken line) circles rotating in opposit directions... or something.
It show the "busy" status or whatever I guess.
Thanks for any help.That depends on how you're loading your videos. Assuming you're using a loader object, you would add/show and remove/hide this
animation while you're waiting for the load of the video to complete. If you're loading the file(s) directly into a FLVPlayback object then you'll want to do this:

How do I see the video while I'm adding the voice?
I use garageband ´09 version 5.1 to add voice to mov-files. On youtube I saw a guy who could watch the video in garageband while he was recording his voice (very helpful), but I can't. My garageband doesn't look as his eather, this is what mine looks like:

How to Set Left/right audio channel while Video playback
how can I controlling the left / right audio channel while video playback, I can't find any method or class for this in JMF, anyone that can direct me how to do it?
The way I found to control two stereo channel is to implement a plug-in Effect that will control two volumes (left/right) indipandently.
You can start from the example GainEffect from sun, and implement your control.
For eample, if you want to mute the left channel, simply set to 0 all the odd samples (or even...I don't remember exactly, try it).
You have then to add you plug in to the processor chain... again see the examples.
More complex effects (panning etc) can be done in the same way, but it seems to me that it's quite CPU intensive.

I recently got a MAC BOOK PRO! The newest version and I make beauty videos, so I need to edit my videos, how do you do voice overs on Imovie? It doesnt give me an option to do a voice over. And how do you have a video going and then in the corner have another one going? I Have the IMOVIE app on my phone and I know how to do all of that but it doesnt let me do it on my laptop. I am always able to connect to iChat with my .Mac account and were able to chat (text chat) with others. But I would like to use the Voice Chat and Video Chat features as well. So I tried and the results are as follows. (I have done all updates recently and there are no more updates available)

When I receive a call, it rings and the same procedures take place and the same error would show up.

Somewhat for others.
If your ISP is offering a VoIP service and blocking the SIP ports the normal solution is to tell them that they are blocking an App you were using and they will normally unblock the ports for free.
This may be because they have not told anybody that they are going to block ports.
It may also e that SIP is an International Standard and that blocking the end user implies they block their use full stop (which they shouldn't).

If you tells us what modem you have we may be able to tell you more on how it should be set up for iChat.
It is possible that it only has the default ports below the 1024 threshold open as standard (Web Browsing and Mail will be OK).

Screen Share, Audio Chat and Video Chat not working
Hey everyone.
I recently started having issues with using some of the iChat protocols over AIM with a friend of mine.
I can send IMs and files perfectly, but I can't get Audio Chat, Video Chat or even Screen Sharing (both ways) to work. After a while I get: "Failed to start Screen Sharing because: Screen Sharing could not be established." I also get the exact same message when trying to Audio chat or Video chat.
If anyone knows the answer to this problem please help us...

Thanks for the response. My system is Windows 7 with a painfully slow ATT
high speed connection.
I got the "Cloud" including CS6 , yesterday,after a chat with a nice Indian
fellow who called me back from Bombay. Surprisingly he was looking forward
to Thanksgiving too but probably because he gets a day off.
I now have the Adobe Premiere Pro loaded (it took nine hours) and
installed. Now I'm starting the tutorials.
Hopefully I'll be editing soon.

Another consideration would be the connection speed of your recipients - not everyone has a fast connection and getting a 25 MB could take a while to download.
A better idea for videos is to post them online for your friends and family to watch. -

You can double tap the screen to change the aspect ratio, but you can't actually "ZOOM" in with video like you can with photos. The only thing you could do is use iMovie to keyframe (ken burns effect) to digitally zoom it in.

So the new Edge has been relased along with many new features including HTML5 video support So along with the new feature here are a few new questions!
How does Edge load the Video? is it fully preloaded before Edge shows the content ? Or is it more of a "youtube" pregressive load while playing?
Or can we choose?
What is the recommended video file size example 4mb ?
How does edge deal with browsers that only support .ogg or .webm instead of mp4?
How is the support on ISO & tablets? load times, "lag" etc?When you import an audio or video file a group is created for you. You can import media with the same name(videosample.ogv; videosample.mp4) to this group for ensuring browser compatibility. The corresponding format will be chosen depending on the browser that loads the composition.
Regarding WebM format - You can also add a webm file in your composition;However since this is a royalty format, Animate will not show a live preview inside the Authoring tool. If you browser supports this then it will definitely play fine on browser preview.
You can take a look at the In-app Video lesson which is available to you in the lesson panel for more details on how this works.
And yes you have pre-load options for HTML5 Video too, however progressive download is not available. You will need to use scripting using JS for getting this functionality.

Yes, that is exactly what I mean.
The iPad can only do FaceTime and FaceTime is NOT linked (compatible) with iChat.
If your parents have an older Mac, or are only on Leopard, Tiger or such, you could use Skype.
It's free. The video quality isn't quite as good, but it does work. Your parents would need the Skype program installed on their Mac. You can download the free Skype for iPad. -
I am unable to figure out how to view a youtube video without the youtube logo and the menus superimposed over the image. Any suggestions?
Found the answer on my own; restart apple TV and menus no longer appear over videos and while playing music. However, viewing streaming video on airplay is not ideal. Sometimes the image freezes on the TV while it continues on my macbook. Also, sometimes the sound comes from the tv speakers; other times it comes only from the computer. Never know what will happen when I watch a streaming video.
