How do I choose how to set my Mac up for Windows compatibility?

I bought a new Macbook due to Vista fears. I started with a trial version of Office 2004. That has expired. I have heard there is software that enables Mac to use Windows simultaneously. Parallels is apparently not for intel-based Macs, and Bootcamp requires a reboot to switch over to the other operating system. Boot Camp also requires that I burn a copy of the software onto a disc, but my computer is not able to burn discs. I want to be able to run and access Windows files and programs and also be able to access PC applications (like Pokerstars, for example, which is for PC only), any advice would be helpful, I am new at this world of Mac.

Yes, you can. All Macbooks have CD burning capabilities.

You need to install Windows on your mac either through Parallels (which creates a virtualized environment within OS X) or use Boot Camp to install Windows directly on your Macbook, as you would any other non-Apple computer.

If you don't have a SIM card in the phone, you must put one in. It's required for activation.
If you do, then your phone was probably hacked to unlock it from the original carrier. Contact them and see if they will unlock it. If they will not do so, then you can't use that phone.

Same custom messagebox code working in Phone_BackKeyPress event i am writing the code in Right Button that e.OriginalSource.ToString(); then it is working fine.

What happens if you leave the implementation for LeftButton empty as well , does the page gets stuck in that case also, if you press left button?

I have Apple TV and I wanted to display my photos on my TV screen using AirPlay function. Now that pictures are displayed on the screen, there is black panel in the middle of the screen blocking the picture image. The panel shows the message "AirPlay - Wirelessly send.......using Airplay." and asking to choose either netowrk (option1) or The Apple TV (option2). How do I choose the network/Apple TV? Where do I choose it from if AirPlay mode is already set on my PC? What you've outlined in this part of the post is all that icloud stores for you outside of the backup. If you want to restore from the icloud backup you will then have for all practical purposes a carbon restoration back to your device if you restore from the icloud backup.

How can install the Fractal Image plug-in into Firefox for Windows 7?

These are files with the .fif extension and the plug-in is needed to view them. The plug in I have is fully functional. The problem I am having is that I needed instructions on how to upload this plug-in into Firefox for Windows.

There has been a change in where Firefox searches for plugins and the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder is no longer scanned for plugins, so Firefox won't find them anymore if they are installed in the plugins folder instead of the "browser\plugins" folder that Firefox now scans.
You can set the plugins.load_appdir_plugins pref to true on the about:config page to make Firefox scan the "<install>/plugins/" directory for plugins like the WMP plugin (np-mswmp.dll).
You can alternatively move plugins from "<install directory>\plugins\" to "<install directory>\browser\plugins\" (create this folder when missing) to make Firefox find them again.

How do you search bold text in Adobe Reader XI for Windows?

We create documents electronically that contain bold text for a client. No matter what we try in Adobe Reader XI for Windows, bold text is not found. Is it not searchable? Is there a setting that we are overlooking to enable it? So far, only NitroPDF is the only program I can find that works.

I just created a small test PDF (test_bold.pdf) with some bold words in it. Reader XI (11.0.09) has no trouble finding these words.

Very recently my university mail changed from the regular webmail to Windows Live.
The question is :
How do I set up an account for emails, calendars and contacts in my mail.app?
Also do I have to use entourage for this purpose or will the mail app be able to figure it all?

You will need your email server addresses for the incoming and outgoing mail servers, your email username and password, and whether you need to use login security, POP or IMAP or Exchange account type, and any relevant port numbers. Then for Mail it's simply creating a new mail account and providing the above information where requested or needed. For assistance with the use of Mail select Mail Help from Mail's Help menu and search for relevant keywords. Same with iCal. In iCal Preferences click on the Accounts icon to configure an Exchange account.
My guess is that if you ask at computer services at your university they can provide the web page at which you will find configuration instructions for using different email clients.
I am not at all familiar with Windows Live but it appears that it may be a browser based information system meaning you may not be able to access it from Mail or iCal. Again discuss this with the IT people at your university.

How to go back to default setting in a menu for a mac?

I was wondering if for example I went in system prefrneces and change some options for my mouse. How would I be able to get back to the default setting of my mouse in sysytem prefrences so thing could go back to the way it wa roiginal set. Is this possible on mac?
I know on windows for many options they have restore default settings on mac I dont see that option.

How do you choose a picture from your iPhoto library for a contact in Address Book ?

I have contacts on my Address Book application for which I would like to set a picture from my iPhoto library.
However, when double-clicking the picture square and select Choose..., I cannot access any pictures from my library. I can't even double click the library to show package content.
I would really dislke having to drag each picture on my desktop and I believe there is a way to easily access the iPhoto library for this. I just couldn't find the solution.

I did it like this: First, you should have assigned names to Faces in iPhoto - these names should match the respective ones you use in addressbook (like John Smith each time, not John Smith in iPhoto and Johnny S. in Addressbook). Then, in Addressbook, double-click the square for the photo as you did, but then do not click on Choose but rather on the small Faces icon on the bottom of the popup window. Addressbook should now provide you with all the "faces" iPhoto has for this name.
