How do I choose the Set up Drive to complete the installation?

I have started the boot camp process to partition my iMac.  I use a wireless keyboard and mouse. I am now prompted to provide the set up drive to comtinue but I have lost the connection to my keyboard. I have a usb keyboard but the iMac will not recognize it. I tried to reboot but I ended up on the same black screen with the same request. What can I do?

Can we assume you have installed it?
What exactly are you trying to do and what happens when you try to do it? What exactly did the bank tell you?

  • How do I choose a default startup drive?

I have two startup drives on my Hard Drive. One is Snow Leopard and the other is Leopard. I need Leopard for some printing issues with Photoshop and Epson. How do I choose a default startup drive? Most of the time I want the Snow Leopard drive at startup but it seems to always start up on Leopard. I need to always hold down the option key at startup. Sometimes I forget.

System Preferences > Startup Dive > select the drive with 10.6.x I suspect you may need to do that for both systems. Click the lock to prevent further changes, then do an option-boot and ensure it'll let you start from the other.
Macs store a reference to the default startup drive set in System Preferences > Startup Drive in PRAM, so you don't have to set it individually for each drive or partition -- as long as the selected one is available at startup time, that is the one the Mac will start up from. (Otherwise, it will be the first available one found. If none capable of starting up the Mac are found instead the flashing slashed circle with the question mark in it won't go away, indicating the Mac is still waiting for you to make one available, for instance by powering up an attached external drive or inserting a bootable DVD.)
The option key startup method temporarily overrides this & allows you to choose another drive or partition, but just for that startup -- the next time you start up normally, it will revert to the selected one.
Also, the lock in System Preferences has nothing to do with making preference settings permanent or persistent. It is just a security feature to prevent unauthorized users from making changes from an already logged in user account. For instance, it makes no difference if the lock is closed or open at startup time, because that is before the OS is running or able to check preference file settings stored on disks. During the early stages of the boot process, code resident in firmware checks for depressed keys & buttons before loading the OS from the default source set in PRAM. This is how it decides if it should instead run the Startup Manager (evoked by the option key), first eject a CD or DVD (evoked by the eject key or primary mouse button), or start up from an alternate source like an installer DVD (evoked by the C key).

  • FAQ: How do I choose the right sequence settings?

In general, the settings of a sequence should match those of the primary footage type in the sequence. Though Premiere Pro can mix footage of various types in a sequence and compensate for differences in characteristics, performance and quality are maximized when such conversions are avoided.
See this video for more information:
How do I choose the right sequence settings?
Also see these sections in Premiere Pro Help:
    Create a sequence

Sorry to say this - but you've got the wrong advice from Adobe.
You were right in selecting the profile for Epson premium glossy paper - if that's what you are printing on.
The magenta cast is most probably due to double color management, i.e. color management for your printer was not switched off. You did all the right moves , but still the color management for the printer was not switched off. This seems to be an Epson - Lightroom problem. You are about the fourth poster who has this problem with Lightroom and Epson printers. All of them said that they were sure that they had color management by the Epson printer switched off. There seems to be a hidden setting that prevails or is called by Lr.
The magenta cast is typical for double color management.
Read this - maybe it helps: http://people.csail.mit.edu/ericchan/dp/Epson3800/printworkflow.html#display_calibration
Don't miss the section on  "How to print images from Lightroom".
I don't have an Epson printer so can't give you further insight on this. Except ...
Disable - temporarily - all custom print profiles and templates that you may have created. Move them to a different folder where Lr does not find them. I cannot guarantee that this helps but if the problem persists it might be worth a try.
One of the above mentioned posters said that the problem disappeared after disabling an old print preset that he had created for a prior version of Lr.

  • How can I choose the time in WRT54G

    Hi
    Problem:
How can I choose the time in WRT54G?
    Data:
    WRT54G v5.1, firmware 1.0.9
    Thank you for your attention

I don't think that you can actually "choose the time" on your router, that is, you cannot set it to an arbitrary time.  The router's clock is set from the internet.
However, you can choose your "time zone" and whether or not to use "daylight saving time".  To do this, open your web browser and point it to address 192.168.1.1.  Enter your router password.  This will take you to your router's web setup page.  You can set the time zone on the bottom of this first page.  Then click "Save Settings".  Exit your browser.  When your router has internet access, it will set itself to the correct time.

How do I choose the $40.00 Icloud plan? When I attemp this, it doesn't allow me to click "next."
The only way it allows me to click "next" is if I choose the $100.00 plan. The email that was sent to me says that I should upgrade or reduce storage because my plan will be reduce to 5GB as of September 30, 2013. Please advise.

Try Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Change Storag Plan.  If you are a former MobileMe user you should see Purchase Current Plan listed between the 20GB and 50GB options.

While editing a scanned pdf, Acrobat will not recognize the current font & change to very different font. How can I choose the font I want to match the current document?

Thanks for answering. The version is XI.0.10. I just did the update yesterday hoping that I could now properly edit a scanned pdf document. Yes, it's happening on most all scanned documents. I followed your steps & found the list of fonts used in the document & then attempted to edit. The same occurs. When I type in a correction, I get an error alert... "the original font (in this case Fd 5805) is not available or can't be used in editing. Acrobat is using the font Minion Pro in its place."
When I select the text & right click as you suggested, my only choices are cut, copy, delete or select all, no "edit text".
I have no other options to choose another font. Thanks for any help you can direct my way.

    Problems installing OS
I have an iMac 21.5 (mid-2010) and I'm trying to install a new hard drive.  When I choose the installation disk the Apple logo comes up and it stops there.  Then the mouse and keyboard goes dead.  I'm trying to install 10.6.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

Since you have a new hard drive, there is nothing on it, so you need to boot from an external source (and probably format the hard drive before installing an OS). Are you booting from the 10.6 install disk? Better yet - do you have a bootable backup clone or at least a Time Machine backup?

  • How can I change the installation path  of JWS?

I have to install the JRE 1.4.0_01 in silent mode on Windows XP. For the JRE I can set the installation path in the corresponding dialog and record it in an *.iss file. When starting the silent installation the JRE is correctly installed into this path but the Java Webstart installation procedure doesn't care about this path and installs JWS in 'D:\Programme\Java Web Start'.

How to find programatically the installation location for Mysql?

There are thousands of them. Probably hundreds of thousands. If you had a particular one in mind, just ask the person who set it up. There's no point in trying to write code for that, since you only need to ask once and put the location in your code.

  • Where or how do I find the installation package containing "iTunes.msi"?

I have iTunes 10.5.3.3 installed on my computer with a Windows XP operating system.  I have tried to download the new itunes 10.6 but continually get a pop up which states "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is currently unavailable.  Enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "iTunes.msi".  I have tried  and failed to find this package.
I have also tried the support page suggestion by uninstalling the old itunes and then install the new one.  This did not work.  Another pop up also tells me that I cannot remove the old (10.5.3.3) itunes...because..." the feature I am trying to use is on a network resource that is currently unavailable". I am caught in a loop.  It appears that I need to locate the "iTunes.msi" installation package in order to be able to uninstall the old and replace with the new iTunes upgrade.
Where or how do I find the installation package containing "iTunes.msi"?  Secondly, when I find it is there anything special I need to do or be aware of?

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

YOu can't. The CC app itself will always install on the system volume. short of reformatting your volume there is no way to resolve this.
