How do I clear apps after I've updated them. They show open, I just can't figure out how to clear them...

Updated to ios7, but now I can't clear them out of the apps file.

Currently, there is no way to remove them from the App Updates tab of the App Store. It seems that this is normal and expected behavior in iOS 7 now.

If I open a photo in "preview", multiple photos open. I just want to open one, but can't figure out how to do it.

This is the resume feature of Lion. The last state of the application is saved when quitting (i.e last pictures viewed in Preview, last videos viewed in Quicktime etc).
You can switch it off for Preview by copy and pasting the following in to the terminal application
defaults write com.apple.Preview NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindows -bool false

Someone please help me! I live in Turkey and bought my iMac desktop in February. The dealer kept the recovery discs and won't send them. My screen freezes seconds after opening and I can't figure out how to repair it myself. Please help!

I was deleting photos when the screen froze and I had to shut down the computer manually. Now after the first minute of being turned on the screen freezes and the mouse arrow goes into that rainbow whirling disc and won't stop no matter how long I let it go. My keyboard is Turkish. My keys are not marked the same as an English one is, further complicating resolving the problem.
The dealer I bought it from doesn't speak English and wants to charge me for repairs. I refuse to pack the computer up and ship it UPS out of town for a repair I can do plus pay for shipping.
When I received my computer I was only given the manual and no system restore discs for situations such as this. I asked where they were and was told there were none.
I suspect this is a tactic to make money on bogus tech repairs off their customers. To purchase new discs, if I can find them, can cost from $30-$40 - the dealer more than likely is re-selling the discs at 100% profit. This is Cizgili Apple Store in Adana, Turkey. I wish to report them. It is a national company too. I don't have a receipt handy, but have an emailed receipt. I can't get my computer's number to get further assistance on the Apple website withput it.
I was a dedicated Windows customer until I started doing desk top publishing. I'm fighting the urge not to regret buying this computer.

If your computer is on one minute before it freezes, than you have one minute to secure your serial number.
click the apple----->click about this Mac ------> click on version----> until you see the serial number. You may have to do this a couple of times if it freezes before you have all the numbers. A camera might help.

The backup will first restore you app data and other settings, it will then restart and restore your camera roll photos, apps and other purchased media.
If you're concerned about losing purchased media you can always transfer them to your iTunes librarry first. To do this, make sure your computer is authorized for all Apple IDs used to purchase your media (in iTunes: Store>Authorize This Computer). Then connect your phone and in iTunes go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases. This way, should anything go missing you can always sync it back from iTunes.
iCloud should maintain your last three backups. You will be asked to choose which backup to restore to after choosing to restore to iCloud backup and signing into your iCloud account during the setup screens.

HT5312 When I get to the part where I need to fill out the 2-3 security questions, the option to send the answers to an e-mail does not show up, and I can't figure out how to create a rescue e-mail address. Help?

This problem is starting to aggravate me, as I have over $40 in iTunes credit that I can't use, as every time I try to purchase something it asks me to answer my security questions, which I have forgotten the answers to and have no way of recovering them. It also states that it is my "first" time purchasing something, though I've had this account for a while. Please help.

You need to contact Apple. Click here, phone them, and ask for the Account Security team.
It isn't possible to create a rescue email address without correctly answering at least two of the questions.

My computer has stopped updating Windows completly. I've tried the diagnostics, as well as recovering back several months, and it still has not helped me. I keep getting this message: 0x80240038. Been this way for over 6 months now. Please help!!!

What antivirus program are you using?
For now, Start button . In the search box, type Command Prompt, and then, in the list of results, click Command Prompt.
Then type sfc /scannow
Let me know if all corrupt system files are repaired.

Can't figure out how to use home sharing

Since the latest couple iTunes updates, my family and I can not figure out how to use home sharing. Everyone in our household has their own iTunes, and for a long time we would just share our music through home sharing. But with the updates, so much has changed that we can no longer figure out how to use it.
I have a lot of purchased albums on another laptop in the house, that im trying to move it all over to my own iTunes, and I have spent a long time searching the internet, and everything. And I just can't figure out how to do it. So.... how does it work now? I would really like to get these albums from my moms iTunes, onto mine. I would hate to have to buy them all over again.
If anyone is able to help me out here, that would be great! Thanks!

The problem im having is that after I am in another library through home sharing, I can't figure out how to select an album and import it to my library. They used to have it set up so that you just highlight all of the songs you want, and then all you had to do was click import. Now I don't even see an import button, or anything else like it. So im lost... I don't know if it's something im doing wrong, or if our home sharing system just isn't working properly.

Can't figure out how to insert an html within my template

I've searched, but perhaps I am not using the correct terminology. I apologize if this has been addressed elsewhere.
We have a vendor who is trying to mimic my webpage for our customers who sign on to her service. My problem is that I don't like having versions of our webpage outside our organization because I'll have to get them to update every time I make a change to our page. I know it will be forgotten at some point. What I'd like to do is set up a page on our site and insert their html content page within my template framework. There is a form that needs to link to their site so it needs to live on their server. I tried inserting an html, but it didn't work. I know in the olden days I used to be able to do this in PageMill. Now, I just can't figure out how to do it. Does anyone know the secret?

Can anyone help me with how to read a web article offline with Instapaper Free? I used the Instapaper "read later" bookmarklet, which appeared to save the story, but I can't figure out how to access the text version offline.

The only reason I am using shell script to test IP is I haven't figured out how to test it with Applescript. I will use only Applescript once I get it all figured out, as I undeerstand shell script even less than I understand Applescript.
The begining script writes user name and email address to a plist from user input, then runs the above script to test and send mail. I just can't figure out how to have mail "make new message" with the "username" and "emailaddress" values already contained in the plist. I have seen that I can't use "property list file" unless it is directly under "tell application system events", but I am stuck on how to do this, and have mail use the values. Thanks again

If you have iTunes 11 on your Mac then you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S, that might make it easier to navigate.
Connect the phone to your Mac and select it on that left-hand sidebar, and on the right-hand side of the screen there should be a series of tabs which you can use to select what to sync to the phone. If it's an audiobook then it should appear on the Books tab for selecting/syncing, and films will be on the Movies tab. When you've got the audiobook on your phone you should get an Audiobooks option in the Music app (you might need to tap the '...' tab at the bottom of the Music app to see it).

The word 'OPEN' next to the name of the app doesn't mean the app is running. Instead, it is a button you can use to launch the App.
If you don't do anything, then the list will eventually disappear on its own, along with all those buttons saying 'OPEN'.

App Store download problem, need to reinstall and can't figure out how?

I'm trying to connect a BlueTooth headset to my Mac Mini. I can discover it, but soon after discovery it disconnects. Can't figure out how to reconnect. My only option seems to be re-discovery

I can discover the headset, but soon after discovery it disconnects. Haven't been able to figure out how to try to re-connect. And the help section titled "Use BlueTooth has absolutely no information on how to use it. All I can do is re-discover it. Every time I rediscover it, it disconnects shortly afterward. This headset works well with both my iPhone and iPad and has for quite some time. But it won't stay connected to my Mac.

Tried with another headset that works fine with iPhone and iPad. An LG HBS700. Same problem. It connects for maybe 10 seconds and then disconnects. So it must be a problem on the Mac. But this Mini is out of warrentee so taking it into an Apple store to get it repaired isn't a good solution. Maybe as a last resort.
Is there a way to select connect on the Mac? Everything else I've connected a BlueTooth device to has both a command for pairing and a command for connecting or reconnecting. I can't figure out how to select connect on the Mac.
