How do I clear "Download error. Tap to retry." from iTunes Store?

I have about 50 songs that I previously tried to download to my iPhone 4S (iOS 7.0.4) from iTunes Match.  They all failed, and I have since removed them from my library, but they are still all showing in the Downloads section of iTunes Store on my iPhone.  Retrying the downloads continually fails, obviously.  Is there any way to clear the list of failed downloads?  I don't see any way to cancel them.

Can cancel 1-at-a-time by swiping and clicking on delete.  But this is only helpful if you have a handful of downloads.  If you have thousands of them waiting .... Well, I have this question too.

  • I have 70% downloaded a movie and now it says download error, tap to retry.  iTunes already billed me and I really want to watch this movie:) Help?

    Anyone have any advice?

If tap to retry did not work, open up iTunes > click the drop down top right which should be your iTunes account/ email address > account > purchase history > find the purchase > click report a problem > click on the movie you purchased and then file report.

  • Download error on movie rented from Itunes Store

Hello, I have tried to download a movie i just rented from the itunes store and an error message stating that:
There was a problem downloading "file name". The disk could not be read from or written to. Please check the connection to the network is active and try again

Same thing here... Direct purchase of musicvideos, tv shows, etc. via Apple TV with no problem (account is valid, connection is there, content is downloaded). Musicvideos and tv shows are synced to my iTunes library and I can play the complete content on my computer. Musicvideos ARE available on ATV (just bought one via iTunes... and directly available and playable on ATV), but purchased tv shows are not available and will not sync (tv show WAS bought via Apple TV... synced to iTunes... but after changing syncing to the latest 5 episodes of tv shows I cannot stream with the online and connected iTunes library to watch my bought shows).

  • How do I download a movie on iTunes on my ipad, because when it gets to the end of the download it says download error tap to retry but when you retry it still doesn't work.

How do I download a movie on iTunes on my ipad, because when it gets to the end of the download it says download error tap to retry but when you retry it still doesn't work.

You can't if you rented and downloaded it on your iPad, you can only watch it on that. From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657 :
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
Does the rental not show in the iPad's Videos app ? You shouldn't need to go via the iTunes store app.

I'm trying to download some purchased TV shows to my iPad Air.  I keep getting the dreaded Download Error Tap to Retry Message.  I've signed out of iTunes and back in.  I've updated my software.  I have plenty of room for them on the Air.  We are taking a long flight this week, and I wanted to have something new to watch.  I've read through lots of threads on this but I can't seem to find a good solution that I haven't tried.
If I can get them to download them on my iMac computer, can I then transfer them to my iPad?  How is this done?  (Please pardon an older lady's ignorance, and thank you for any assistance!)

  • Download error tap to retry

Download error tap to retry and I keepm getting the same error message.

Before upgrading to iOS5, I downloaded 2 different podcasts everyday for months to my iPhone via my wireless network and it was flawless. I did not have to get on my computer and do a two step download. Now since the upgrade it happens everyday and the podcasts will not download to my iPhone. I get the same error as noted in the comments above. So I do not think this is a network problem. I think it is a problem with the upgrade.
Having to do a 2 step download everyday when before I did not have too before is kind of a step back.
If anyone knows how to get the download straight to my phone, please post.
    Thanks

  • Download error, tap to retry on song in download list even though has downloaded and plays on iPhone 5s

I recently downloaded a song through iTunes on my IPhone.
The song downloaded and can be played on the phone but iTunes is still say that the song hasn't fully downloaded. Comes up with 'Downloaded error, tap to retry' that I can't get rid of.
This is strange as the song has completed downloading and can be played on the iPhone in its entirety!

    Hello Bdev15,
I would be concerned too if the songs I purchased from iTunes were not downloading to my iPhone. You have taken some great troubleshooting steps already, and thank you for providing the details of the steps you too.  I have a few additional suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1725
If the songs still do not download, next I recommend downloading the songs when connected to another network.  For example, if you are using the cellular network, you could switch to Wi-Fi, or you could try an alternate Wi-Fi network.  Follow the steps in the section titled "iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch > Music" in the article below to download the songs:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
If you are still not able to download the songs, you can report an issue with these purchases using the steps in this article:
How to report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBookstore purchase

  • I have several episodes of a TV show that say "download error, tap to retry" and when I do it just repeats that error message.  Can I get it to work? If not can I get reimbursed for the episodes I'm missing?  I'm using an iPad one which has worked fine B4

I have several episodes of a TV show where it says download error, tap to retry and when I do it repeats the error message.  Can I get it to work or get reimbursed for the ones I'm missing?  I'm using an iPad 1 which has worked fine for all the others.

    Hi AlpineJean,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues downloading some episodes to your iPad.
I would first suggest you sign out of your iTunes account on your iPad, restart the device and sign back in.
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Tap on your Apple ID account > Tap Sign Out
Click on the link below for additional troubleshooting steps with more details and screenshots.
I've quoted some helpful highlights for you:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
To view or download previously purchased:
    TV Shows on iOS
Open the iTunes Store on your device.
Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase.
Tap More from the bottom navigation bar.
    Tap TV Shows.
Locate the TV show episode or series you would like to download.
Once you've located the TV shows you are looking for, tap the download button.
The TV show will begin downloading.
Previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer on the iTunes Store. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.
If this does not resolve your issue, please follow these instructions for support from the iTunes Store:
How to report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBookstore purchase
Find the email receipt for your purchase.
Click Report a Problem under the app that is having the issue.
When prompted, enter the Apple ID and password you used to purchase the item, then click Report a Problem.
Click Report a Problem next to the item you are having an issue with.
From the Choose Problem dropdown menu, choose the appropriate issue.
Follow the onscreen instructions and—if prompted—type a description of the problem into the text field.
Click Submit to have your issue reviewed.
    Have a great day!

  • Download error tap to retry : why do I get this message when trying to download movies purchased from iTunes? When I tap to retry, it says not at this time.

When I try to download a movie, it says downloading error, tap to retry. So I tap and it says download not available at this time. Is it about storage?

Usually when you don't have enough space, your iPad will tell you that.  To be sure, go to Settings > About and see how much space you have left.  If you have more than 5 GB, you likely have enough space.
I'd try rebooting your iPad and see if that solves the problem.  Press and hold BITH the power and home buttons at the SAME time until you see the Apple Logo, then let go of BOTH buttons and your iPad will restart.

  • Itunes error. Download error. tap to retry

I recently bought Inception on my Ipod touch and it went through processing but once it came to downloading it came with the message "download error. tap to retry" I've done it off and on for 3 days and nothing works. Please help.

I can't confirm the 12 days part, but what I did find out is that the 3 songs I got did not appear as purchased items on my Apple ID I used for purchased, almost as if that connection was lost whenever I got the files (even if free from an iTunes promotion). The media files were on my OS X iTunes and I could transfer them to the phone, but I strongly believe because they are not attached to my Apple ID, and the download was interrupted somehow on the phone, that they appear as "not able to download".
I would guess if Apple added these 3 songs to my purchased list it would go away - but I do not know if they could even do that without probably knowing some ID that would like it to the exact song to add.
I tried a "reset all network settings" as the last resort before hanging up with an Apple tech (who was also not sure on how to solve). This did not work. Since this is not hampering my use of the phone, I will solve it some other day, perhaps when I next visit an Apple store and show them, maybe they would be interested in this scenario.
For now, I think I would have to factory reset the whole phone to get rid of them.

  • ITunes download error, tap to retry

I purchased some songs from iTunes, and all except 3 downloaded just fine. 3 songs keep coming up "Download error, tap to retry". I have tried numerous times to retry the download, but keep getting the error message. I cannot select and delete the downloads, either. Subsequent downloads are working fine. How can I get rid of these 3 downloads?

  • I purchased tv shows from iTunes and keep getting a download error tap to retry.

I purchased tv shows from iTunes and keep getting a download error tap to retry.  Why don't the shows download?  What can I do?

    Hello there Julfos,
I recommend this part of the article named iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1725.
If you cannot complete the download on your device, you can finish the download in iTunes on your computer and then sync it to your device. For instructions, see the following articles:
iTunes Store: Where can I download and sync my purchases?
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    Additional Information
If your purchase does not resume downloading after following the steps in this article, you can also try the following steps to troubleshoot the download issue.
    Restart your computer or device.
Check for updates for your Mac or PC and install any software updates. Also, check for and install updates for any security software you may have (anti-virus, anti-malware, firewall, and so on).
If using Wi-Fi for Internet access, try using a different Wi-Fi network when downloading. If you are connecting to a home network, try restarting your Wi-Fi router. Also, check for and install any firmware updates for your Wi-Fi router. (Refer the manufacturer's website for your router to get information on updating its firmware).
If that does not resolve the issue then I recommend quitting all the apps running with this article, and trying again.
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
Perhaps even forgetting your home network and rejoining it.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you are connected. Then tap > and Forget this Network. Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network again.
    Or resetting your network settings.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN and APN settings.

  • Iphone 4s and Ipod touch - Download error, tap to retry.  Why is this happening?

    Hi
I have a problem when I am trying to download music onto my iphone 4S.  It sometimes says download error, tap to retry.  Sometimes when i try later in the day it works. My friend also has the same problem with her ipod touch, but hers wont download at all.  Both are up to date with software etc.  Can anyone help?

  • Why am I getting "download error, tap to retry" when I try to get music on my ipod?

I tried to download a few albums from itunes through my ipod and it downloaded a few song but now all I get is  the message "download error, tap to retry." How do I get the download to continue since it has already taken the money out of my account?

    Hello HONEYBUN8679,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you see the error message "unsupported colorspace" when trying to print with your Epson Stylus DX8400. It can be hard to say why this error has occured, and there are some troubleshooting steps that can help resolve it.
First, make sure you've used Software Update to download the latest printer drivers, as mentioned here:
OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download - Apple Support
Use Software Update before connecting your printer or scanner. This updates the list of the latest supported printer and scanner models on your Mac. If you don't use Software Update before trying to connect a new printer, you might not see available software when you connect your device. If you're using a Wi-Fi printer, be sure to connect your printer to your Wi-Fi network before adding it to your Mac.
Next, remove the printer from the Printers & Scanners section of System Preferences, restart your Mac, and re-add the printer. See this troubleshooting guide for detailed help with this step:
Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X - Apple Support
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If you still see the error message, you may want to check with the manufacturer for additional printer software downloads and more help:
Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.

  • HT201272 download error, tap to retry

i just bought an iPad at the apple store in Bergamo and started to download 4 movies i purchased previously through itunes while i was in the store. they kindly offered to give me some assistance in setting it up before i left the store and i stayed to get a few quick apps and download some movies.
when i saw how long it would take to download the movies, i paused all and left the store. now i am in Greece at a home with a wifi connection. since i arrived, i have been able to download a movie purchased previously on itunes, but the other 4 movies keep getting stuck and won't resume downloading. it just says "download error, tap to retry".
i want to delete the attempts and start over, since i know it can work here, but i don't see that option. it just offers "done" or "retry".
also, the setup assistant failed to appear in itunes when i connected my ipad to my macbook pro for the first time. i was thinking to import the 4 movies i want over the connecting USB cable, but that doesn't seem to be working properly either.
    many thanks for any help.

Since you've changed countries in the middle of this, things could get a little messy.
