How do I clear Mail and Attachments?

My Ipad2 says I'm low on storage and goto usage to manage it.
I have a number of Apps but it says my mail and attachments is 3.6GB. I have no mail files at the moments, all mailboxes are empty. How do I remove these mail and attachments? Where are they? version 8.0.2

through IC Webclient ICI interface how can we configure E-mail functionality, As per my understanding, E-mails can be handled in a similar way of receiving phones.
Where these E-mails can be stored?, Where we define agent E-mail id?
being ICI is a multi channel support does it need SMPT server support? If No, would there be any difference in the functionality?
How does CHAT functionality works?
Please educate in above scenarios to get a better understanding.

I think you guys make a great point, I too don't like how my cookies are erased when I clear history and have to use the go around. to your home wifi. May I ask are you able to connect to other wifi networks? If
so then please forget your home network again, turn wifi off, reboot, and
retest. If this doesn't work then you will want to reset network settings.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Keep in mind that
this will delete ALL wifi passwords that you have saved.

How to remove mails (and attachments) permanently?

Hi!
I just realized my Archive.mbox (~/Library/Mail/V2/Mailboxes) is quite big (8.5GB) and I decided to remove old mails with large attachments.
As I use GMail account via POP3, first I removed mails from the Google account and I freed up about 1.5GB extra space. Later, I searched for mails with attachments in Mail.app, then sorted then and started to remove and emptied the trash. This operation was quite weird as some of them where moved to the Trash folder, some not.
As I was controlling the space of the Mailboxes folder this is what I noticed:
- Archive.mbox - the size of the mbox didn't change (anyone know why?)
- Deleted Messages.mbox increases while removing another mails then decreased while wiping it out (this is what I expected)
In summary, I removed a lot of mails and didn't free up ANY space! Does anyone know how to do it properly?
Also, while googling I found out about "Mail Downloads" folder which is moved from Library to ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Mail Downloads. As I set "Remove unedited downloads" to "When Mail Quits" can I simply remove all subdirs from this dictionary to save some space? This folder is only used for copy of attachments, right?

Each IMAP account it's own Archive folder. POP accounts all share the same Archive folder.
I removed a POP account in Mail but the archive messages did not delete. You would need to move them out of the Archive folder then trash to remove if you have archived other POP account messages. However, if it's only the one account, you can manually delete this folder in the User's Library then rebuild the Mail index.
Quit Mail
Go to the User's Library folder. This folder is hidden by default. To unhide: Select the Finder in the Dock. Under Go in the Menu bar > hold down the Option key and you’ll see the Library.
Scroll to Mail folder.
Mailboxes folder stores the "On My Mac" messages. IMAP accounts store it's Archive folder in the account's folder.
In Mailboxes you'll find the Archive folder. Delete.
In the MailData folder, delete the 3 files with envelope in the name.
Open Mail and it will reindex your messages.

I use the following code to do this:

        }This approach works when the email has inline images only or attachments only.
It does not work when the email has both inline images and attachments. (Only the attachments are saved).
Come someone please help me correct my solution so that it can process an email that has both inline images and attachments and save them in different directories.

I modified the getText method in order to save the embedded images:

I took Lion off my Macbook Pro and put Snow Leopard back on and now I can't access Mail or iPhoto. How do I get Mail and iPhoto to work with the Snow Leopard I just put back on?

Hi. I was having slowness problems with my Macbook Pro and thought I would re-install Lion but put Snow Leopard back on by mistake. I bought the computer used with Lion on it and don't have access to the USB drive or a username/password to reinstall Lion. Now I can't access Mail or iPhoto since I put Snow Leopard on.
Is there a way to get my Mail and iPhoto working again with Snow Leopard or do I have to "re-upgrade" to Lion?

You can't. When you converted those libraries to Lion's format, you lost the ability to go backwards. Unless you saved a bootable backup./clone or Time Machine backup of your previous SL installation, you're up the proverbial creek w/o a paddle.
