How do I clear old alerts on OEM homepage?

I am using OEM 11g.  There are over 375 alerts sitting in the "Alert Triggered" section on the homepage of the OEM.  Some are nearly a year old and the relying  have been resolved and still have not cleared.  I could go through each one and manually clear an alert, however because of hardware constraints that is a very time-consuming process that will take me several hours to handle.  Is there a way to do a batch manual clear.
There is also a full tablespace alert from nearly six months ago that was addressed immediately.  Datafiles were added and made auto-extensible.  Yet that alert remains.  How do I clear it? Christine

  • How do I clear old alerts?

    Hi,
On my Grid Control home page, I have 311 warnings. Some of these warnings are no longer applicable and some of them are on metrics that I am no longer monitoring on. For instance, I am not interested in whether somebody has logged in to a database as the SYS user, especially not when it occurred six weeks ago!
How can I clear these alerts? Some alerts have a check box beside them, so I can check the check box and click "Clear Alert". For most of the alerts, the check box is greyed out.
Thank you for any insight on this!
    Maria

Thank you for your response! I had actually made a search and come across the thread that you are referencing, but I would really like to do this through the front-end at this point, and I am amazed that there doesn't seem to be a simple way to do it! What use is the home page summary if there is so much noise!
Anyhow, I figured out a way to clear these warnings through the front-end, although not by checking a simple check box and pressing a button, that I would have preferred. I set the threshold of warning and critical to way beyond what is ever likely to happen, and set the collection schedule to once per minute. The alerts cleared. Then, I disabled the collection altogether.

  • Clear Acknowledged Alerts in OEM

Does anybody know how to clear acknowledged alerts in OEM? I had some alerts, and stupidly I clicked Acknowledge, and now I can't use the "Clear Alerts" button on those alerts.
Very grateful if somebody could explain how to 'un-acknowledge' the alerts so I can clear them.
    Cheers,
    Ben

    Thanks Sulimo,
If anybody else needs to know how to do this, try this:
logon to EMREP as sysman (using sqlplus)
    delete from em_severity.delete_current_severity;
    commit;
    There!

  • Im running out of space, how do I clear old content temp files

Im running out of space, how do I clear old content temp files old apps?
i have done the browser cache and cleared history.I am clearing items off the macbook pro but is there other areas i should clean
    Thanks

Im running out of space, how do I clear old content temp files old apps?
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. Temp files get automatically deleted when you restart. Old apps you can either uninstall (if it was originally installed with an installer, there should be an uninstaller somewhere) or drag it to the trash. What's "old content"?
i have done the browser cache and cleared history.
This is not going to give you back much space.

  • Clearing an alert in OEM-GC that has a future date on, How do you delete?

    Hi to all,
I have an alert that occurred regarding the count on targets on the agent and it has a future time stamp on it. I have tried to alter the alert metric so it en-compasses the amount of targets hoping that this would clear the alert and then when it had cleared reset the metric to it's original quota.
Does anyone know how to delete such alerts?
Thanks to all that can help.

    Try the solution
    1. Make a SELECT * from MGMT_CURRENT_SEVERITY and get the TARGET_GUID, METRIC_GUID and KEY_VALUE.
2 login as sysman to repository database
    exec EM_SEVERITY.delete_current_severity(TARGET_GUID,METRIC_GUID,KEY_VALUE);
    for example:
    exec EM_SEVERITY.delete_current_severity('0DEB8E6980695B7548CF98871084AD10','F95BA0D95585002889E1ABF92B2DA7C3','SYS');

  • How to setup DISK SPACE alert on OEM 10g Grid Control...

    Gurus,
I am trying to setup DISK SPACE notification / alert thru OEM 10g Grid Control, but so far no luck.
Can someone help/guide me on how to achieve this?
    Please advice.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kartik

Those two links don't say anything about "DISK SPACE ALERT" I already know how to setup notification. I suppose you are talking about Filesystem Space Available (%)
If you need to setup an alert (Notification) then i suppose you need to setup an notification rule.
Yes, these notes do not have the key word "DISK SPACE ALERT" you are looking for, but if you go through the first note CLEARLY and COMPLETELY, you should find your answer.
And he has given an example for Filesystem space available in this note, which is what you are looking for.(I think so)
Say for Disk Space, you create a notification rule for target hosts and have metric "Filesystem Space Available (%)" defined in that rule.
If you aren't talking about notifications and just want to setup an filesystem space available metic, then follow this note:

  • How do I clear old emails/passwords from my Mac?

Whenever I visit a site it will autofill my old email address with the password.  I have tried several times to save the new email/password to specific sites but my system will always autofill the old email/password.  How do I clear this?
    Thank you,
    Moms90

    Hello Moms90,
You can edit or remove your Safari remembered passwords in the Safari > Preferences > AutoFill > User names and passwords > Edit
(which may take you to a Passwords pane).
Safari 5.1 (OS X Lion): AutoFill preferences

  • Is there a way to clean up the old alerts in OEM 10gR2?

I seem to have alot of older alerts on my oem main page:
OEM >Database > Home about half way down Alerts. Some of them are Informational, and are cleared on the database, yet they still show in oem. Is there a way to remove these? I'd like to see only active alert messages, not historical ones. Thanks
    Bob

But if you do recieve alert and you reset them, then they should not appear on your list any longer. I have some alerts showing up under CRITICAL when I had a file system go from CRITICAL to no alert (due to changing the threshold) . Any I can't make the alert disappear. I have a SR openned on this problem. I am curious as to what they have to say.
Also I have alerts that appear under ALERTS/Errors from October, that will not go away, even though the problem has been cleared up for months.......

  • Clearing old alerts

Oem grid is generating alerts . Even long after the problem is resolved the alerts are not cleared . These alerts are for space on filesystem / archiv destiantion full .
we are using gird 10.2.0.3.0 version .
    Any help would be appericated
    Thanks
    Narendra

These alerts should clear after you have resolved the space issue so the space left is within your set thresholds.
If you are sure this is the case, stop the agent, issue a clearstate command and restart the agent.
    does the alert clear then?
Also, what version of agents are you using?

  • How do I clear old form data?

When you're filling in forms, as you enter the first letter, all options beginning with that letter appear - allowing you to select one rather than type in an entry.
Some of those drop down suggestions can get pretty long. How do you remove entries - or clear them?

    From : http://kevmarl.com/2008/10/20/how-to-delete-a-single-saved-form-data-entry-in-mozilla-firefox
Click on the test entry box form where your data is.
Press down till you get to the incorrect/old/unwanted entries.
    Press shift+del.
    Repeat for all others.
    Viola!

  • HT203177 how do i clear old backups from time machine to make more space

My 2TB Time Machine is nearly full.  I am trying to back up a drive in a Mac Min that is starting to fail and wanted to do so on Time Machine.  Unfortunately since my Time Machine is nearly full it will not back up drive without eliminating nearly all of the files on this Mini.  I am okay overwriting the other backups already on the Time Machine but do not know how to force Time Machine to do so.  Please any clues on how to make Time Machine overwrite other backups would be greatly appreciated.

About TM "Backup Drive is Full" Alert
TM only deletes older files if they have been deleted from the source and when TM needs space on the backup drive for a new incremental backup. Time Machine "thins" it's backups; hourly backups over 24 hours old, except the first of the day; those "daily" backups over 30 days old, except the first of the week. The weeklies are kept as long as there's room.
So, how long a backup file remains depends on how long it was on your Mac before being deleted, assuming you do at least one backup per day. If it was there for at least 24 hours, it will be kept for at least a month. If it was there for at least a week, it will be kept as long as there's room.
Note, that on a Time Capsule the sparsebundle grows in size as needed, but doesn't shrink. Thus, from the user's view of the TC it appears that no space has been freed, although there may be space in the sparsebundle.
Once TM has found it cannot free up enough space for a new backup it reports the disk is full. You can either erase the backup drive and start your backups anew or replace the drive with a larger drive.
As you can see Time Machine does prune old backups to make space, but eventually it may no longer succeed. Then you will get the alert. You can delete old backups if you wish, but only using the Time Machine application.

  • How do i clear old songs from nano

Hi there - I have a Nano which is full and I have a new pc and when connecting to Ipod to ITunes I am clicking sync and nothing is happening.  How do I either sync everything from the Nano to ITunes or clear it all down and start again if the library doesn't recognise the songs?

    Just unsync the music.
Or you can restore the iPd to factory defaults/new iPod if you really want a blank slate.
