How do I clear the option-command-c shortcut?

I've been using Photoshop forever. Recently upon buying a new laptop with Lion on it I have not been able to use the Photoshop hotkey combo of option-command-c.  I've gone though the prefs -> keyboard -> keyboard shortcuts pane and removed everything and that's not helping. Is there a command I can run in terminal to unbind this so that I can use it in Photoshop again?
Note: I'm posting here because from the Photoshop side of things, the hotkey is setup and should be working fine (it is a default thing).

Had the same problem. In my case the conflict was not with an identical os x system shortcut, but with the same hotkey-combo iin an application called "Clipboard History", which was constantly running in the background.
See app store:

After I disabled this clipboard app, I could use option-command-c again in Photoshop to change the canvas size.
Hope this helps!

  • HT2307 How can you shut off the option command click shortcut that minimizes all windows?

I can't find a place to turn off the option click shortcut that minimizes the last window and option command click that minimizes all of the other windows. Is there a way to do this? They don't show up (or I can't find them) in the Dock Preferences or the Keyboard Shortcuts.

I use Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and that's the zoom shortcut keys with space. If I use another program on my second monitor and go back to that and want to zoom in it minimizes everything else.
Why reply if you don't know?

Entries in the location bar drop down list with a yellow (blue on Mac) star at the right end are bookmarks.<br />
You can remove such a bookmarked item that shows in the list if you open that url in a tab and click the yellow star in the location bar.<br />
This will open the "Edit This Bookmark" dialog and you can click the Remove button to remove the bookmark if you want to remove such a bookmarked entry.<br />

I have an iMac for work and I am leaving the company. How do I clear the computer so that my soon to be former company is unable to see my personal information Ie. - internet, contacts, etc...

Follow these instructions step by step to prepare a Mac for sale:
Step One - Back up your data:
           A. If you have any Virtual PCs shut them down. They cannot be in their "fast saved" state. They must be shut down from inside Windows.
           B. Clone to an external drive using using Carbon Copy Cloner.
              1. Open Carbon Copy Cloner.
              2. Select the Source volume from the Select a source drop down menu on the left side.
              3. Select the Destination volume from the Select a destination drop down menu on the right
                  side.
              4. Click on the Clone button. If you are prompted about creating a clone of the Recovery HD be
                  sure to opt for that.
Destination means a freshly erased external backup drive. Source means the internal
                   startup drive.
Step Two - Prepare the machine for the new buyer:
              1. De-authorize the computer in iTunes! De-authorize both iTunes and Audible accounts.
2, Remove any Open Firmware passwords or Firmware passwords.
              3. Turn the brightness full up and volume nearly so.
              4. Turn off File Vault, if enabled.
              5. Disable iCloud, if enabled: See.What to do with iCloud before selling your computer
Step Three - Install a fresh OS:
         A. Snow Leopard and earlier versions of OS X
              1. Insert the original OS X install CD/DVD that came with your computer.
              2. Restart the computer while holding down the C key to boot from the CD/DVD.
              3. Select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu; repartition and reformat the internal hard drive.
Optionally, click on the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass.
              4. Install OS X.
              5. Upon completion DO NOT restart the computer.
              6. Shutdown the computer.
         B. Lion and Mountain Lion (if pre-installed on the computer at purchase*)
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because
it is three times faster than wireless.
              1. Restart the computer while holding down the COMMAND and R keys until the Mac OS X
                  Utilities window appears.
              2. Select Disk Utility from the Mac OS X Utilities window and click on the Continue button.
              3. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list. Click
on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
              4. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on the Security button
and set the Zero Data option to one-pass.
              5. Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
              6. Quit DU and return to the Mac OS X Utilities window.
              7. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
              8. Upon completion shutdown the computer.
*If your computer came with Lion or Mountain Lion pre-installed then you are entitled to transfer your license once. If you purchased Lion or Mountain Lion from the App Store then you cannot transfer your license to another party. In the case of the latter you should install the original version of OS X that came with your computer. You need to repartition the hard drive as well as reformat it; this will assure that the Recovery HD partition is removed. See Step Three above. You may verify these requirements by reviewing your OS X Software License.

  • How do I clear the downloads folder?

How do I clear the downloads folder?  I swear there used to be an option for this when I right clicked on the downloads folder that is on my bottom bar but I don't see one now.  This is making me crazy.
Also, when I click on the bottom bar Downloads folder to display the items in the Downloads folder, I've selected it to be arranged as a fan and by the date added.  I've downloaded two copies of the same item and did this back to back because I didn't see the first download in the folder once I'd downloaded it.  I don't see the first of the two downloads unless I open the whole folder in its own window.  Shouldn't I see them both at the bottom of the list since they are the two most recent downloads?  I'd accidentally downloaded duplicate copies previously and it had displayed them in this manner.
    Please help!

The best way to delete is just open them in finder.  Mark them all and delete.
In the fan, you can select the sort order by right click (cntl click) the download folder and choosing "sort by" date added.

  • How do I clear the cache in my MacBook Pro 10.9 Maverick

How do I clear the cache in my MacBook Pro 10.9 Maverick operating system? Can anyone provide step-by-step instructions. I'm a big dummy when it comes to this sort of thing.

    Hey DrSteveMc,
Thanks for the question. The following resource outlines where the cache folder is stored. Note that the Library folder is hidden by default in OS X Mavericks. To access this folder, hold down option when clicking the Go menu in Finder:
OS X Mavericks: What is the Library folder?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14330
Mac OS X: How to troubleshoot a software issue
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1199
If the issue does not appear to be related to preferences, a login item, or a kext file, and still persists in Safe Mode, there may be an issue with a cache file in your home folder:
    1. From the Finder's Go menu, choose Home.
    2. Open the Library folder.
    3. Drag the Caches folder to the desktop.
    4. Attempt to reproduce the issue.
    5. If issue is resolved, drag the Caches folder to the Trash.
    6. If issue persists, from the Finder's Go menu, choose Go To Folder.
    7. Go to this folder: /Library
    8. Drag the Caches folder to the desktop.
    9. Attempt to reproduce the issue.
    10. If issue is resolved, drag the Caches folder to the Trash.
    11. If issue persists, go to step 4.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • How do I clear the screen in text mode (cls)

How do I clear the screen in text mode (cls)
    Thanks,

Clearing of console is an OS specific command, so
in case of Windows you should try:
Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cls");Though it wouldn't help, because exec() will be done as a separate
    process... :)

  • How do I clear the recently edited files in the file menu?

How do I clear the recently edited files in the file menu? (ie. cache)

I don't have PSEv.13, but in my current version, and in the two that I had before, the behavior is/was identical.
As far as I know, the only way to purge an entry in the list of recently edited files via the File menu, is to delete the picture file or send it to the recycle bin.
Perhaps someone will come along with additional information.
"The File option dose not have an option for FILE-MORE-PURGE CACHE. as Adobe suggested."
Where is this referenced suggestion?? On-line? In a book or manual?

  • How do i clear the  console

    Hi Experts
I need to know "how do i clear the console " and
"how do position the mouse cursor in x and y coorditates in a console "
    Thanks in advance

You don't. Or, it depends on the console. Depending on your point of view.
Java doesn't directly control it the same way that it controls an AWT window for example. It just sends bytes to it. If the console is capable of interpreting bytes in such a way to clear the screen, then it can.
Most consoles a person is likely to use will interpret VT100 commands. Look them up; try google. You can just output those commands and the console will do what they say, hopefully.
Sending a control-L (bye 0x0c, I think) may do it. Try that.
Or you can try the java curses library.
All this may be wrong if you mean something by "console" other than what I think you mean.

  • How do I clear the 'recently added' playlist?

How do I clear the 'recently added' playlist?

It isn't set up that way.  It is a smart playlist (right click on it to see details) which uses the "date added is last two weeks" command.  You would have to change the date added on the tracks it contains to be older than two weeks, or do some other modification to the smart playlist such as only have it display items that had not been played at all.  I don't know if there is an easy way to do that unless it is in Dougscripts.

I have purchased a IPad2 and I want to give my old IPad to my daughter.  How do I clear the old IPad and transfer my apps and purchased item to the new IPad2?

You can copy any purchased items that aren't already on your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. If you want to copy everything over to the new iPad then you can back up the old iPad by right-clicking (command-clicking on a Mac) the iPad under Devices when connected to your computer's iTunes, and you can then restore that backup onto the new iPad.
When you are happy that eveything has copied over you can log out of you account on the old iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then wipe its content via Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Setings.

  • How can I clear the 'Index found' flag using Flexmotion 5.2?

When using the 'find index' VI, the motor doesn't physically stop until a few steps after the index, even with the step rate dropped right down to 5 steps a second. (I have no idea whether this is normal or not - the axis is set to Halt on stop, so I would have thought not, but that's what it's doing!)
This would be ok if I could clear the "index found" flag, drop the step rate down to one a second and do another index find in the opposite direction.

It's not an option in the prefs. It's a hidden file that makes up part of the preference set (as far as I know, most, or all of the seetings you can adjust inside ID's prefences dialog are actually saved in the other half of the set, InDesign Defaults). For more information, see Replace Your Preferences
