How do I collect and organize files into a new folder without breaking the links to my media?

I'm new to premiere pro, and learned that I probably should have figured out where to organize all of my files from the beginning, but in the post production phase, I have a bunch of audio and image files sitting all over my desktop, and I'm afraid that if I move them, I'll break the links to all of my media. Files I edited in CS6 Photoshop and Audition are of special concern (considering they get automatically routed to my desktop).
Does anyone know how I can collect all of the files and media that were imported into my project, and and archive them into a folder without breaking the project's links to the original media? Perhaps there's a way to copy all of the files and move them into that folder, so that when I move the originals, I'll still maintain all of the links in the copied version?
I tried using the project manager tool, but received an "unknown error message" each time I ran it.
Any organizational insight would be much appreciated!

The way I do it is through iTunes. First you have to have to import or already have the photos in your computer where you have iTunes and sync your phone. When you have your phone connected and iTunes open click on the iphone under "devices" in the left sidebar list - then over to the right select Photos then Sync Photos and probably best to check selected folders unless you want them all, then choose the photo folders you want. You have to have your photos in folders for multiple folders to be created in your phone, the names will be the same as the folders in your computer. Alternately you can sync from one of your photo programs if they are listed as options and they will go to the phone in the structure you have your photos in in that program.
Hope this helps... There may be other ways and other third-party programs for doing this but I haven't looked...

Simplified situation:
I currently have mybook.book containing:
   chapter1.fm
   chap2.fm
   appendixA.fm
   apdxB.fm
I'd like to reorg the files such that mybook.book contains:
   chapters\chapter1.fm
   chapters\chap2.fm
   appendices\appendixA.fm
   appendices\apdxB.fm
If I move the files into folders with Windows Explorer, it will of course break the cross-references. I thought I could simply use right-click Rename on the file enteries within the book in FM to move them, but it won't allow the / or | chars. How can I accomplish this reorg without breaking the cross-references?

Not sure what the problem here is. You need neither a 3rd party plugin nor any MIF editing. Simply do it this way:
Create the required folders (chapters/appendices) within your current book folder
Open the book
Open the chapter files and do a "Save as" into the \chapter subfolder
Open the appendix files and do a "Save as" into the \appendices subfolder
Delete the book file entries and re-fill the book with the newly saved files
Every "Save as..." keeps xrefs intact, including the new path in the document's references. This reqires some steps, yes. But I think it's still better than doing edits to MIF files by someone who is not experienced doing this.
Edit: Sorry, it's not a easy as I thought. I forgot that this is done in several steps, and previously saved files don't recognize path changes of files saved afterwards. So this is no solution.

Using GarageBand for MacOS X, I have no difficulty importing and playing .mid (MIDI) files. Indeed, I can even rename .kar (Karaoke) files to .mid, import them into GarageBand for MacOS X and see the lyrics along with the score. Using File Sharing for iOS apps in iTunes.app, I have tried to import .mid and .band files (made from .mid files with GarageBand for MacOS X) using this mechanism. I get no errors but it doesn't seem to work. That is, neither the .band file nor the .mid file are accessible from within GarageBand for iOS as far as I can tell. What should I be doing instead?

As I understand it GarageBand for iOS .band projects can be imported to GarageBand for OS X, but the reverse isn't true. GarageBand for iOS does not import midi files.
The File Sharing section of iTunes doesn't validate the files you put into it, but if the app doesn't like the structure of the file it will just ignore it.

How can I sort a sequence files into two new folders in Automator?

I have a folder with 2000 files. I need to sort these files into two folders. I have sequentially renamed the files in automator so that a number is the first character of each file. I need to put the odd numbered files in folder one and the even numbered ones in folder two.
I can do this sort in a spreadsheet. How do I get the resuls of the spreadsheet sort back into automator?
Or is there a better way to do this within Automator?

Trying to move files into a new folder and th finder folders disappear and show latest open application

I did not have this problem running the beta. I upgraded to the shipping version yesterday and whenever I try to move a file or application into another folder, both folders disappear, the desktop screen flashes, then I see the finder folders behind whatever application I had open last sitting on top of the finder window. If I let go of the mouse nothing moves and the windows close.

I'm having the same or similar issue... I think... trying to do a little house cleaning in the file structure. For example, in our events folder I'm creating archive folders (i.e. - 2004, 2005, ect...) and when I use the Files Panel to drag and drop the past event pages into the newly created archive folder, the pages loose all their links.
Image link prior to and after moving are the same (../images/logo1.gif)
It does ask me to confirm that I want to move the file but nothing about updating the links. Is it due to the way the files are linked in the original files?

Hi.
If you have a Zip drive, you can handle the file as you would any other file. Copy and paste. Drag and drop. Select and attach as an email attachment.
Zip drive data discs came in two capacities, 100MB and 250MB. So the largest files would not exceed those capacities, depending on the media from which they are pulled.
The trick, I should think, would be finding a working drive that can read the media... and hope that media is not corrupted. Zip media was notorious for failing.

You need to authorize the new computer in iTunes, transfer purchases from the iPad into the new iTunes library, backup the iPad and then restore the iPad from the newly created backup and then sync with iTunes.

As stated above, you can download apps again at no charge as long as you use the same ID. Depending on where you live, (in the U.S.) you can download just about everything again that you have purchased as long as you use the same ID.

I'd like to upgrade a VI which calls a CIN from LV 7.1 to LV 8.5 or 9.0, but I have no access to the CIN code (the .lsb file) anymore. That .lsb was not one of the .lsb which came with LV but written by some third party.
The only chance I see write now is to compile the CIN-using VI into a DLL with LV 7.1 and then use this DLL in the newer LV versions. I wonder if there is simpler way to do it, maybe by extracting the LSB code from the LV7.1 VI? (OTOH the CIN support seems to be discontinued in LV 2009, so that would probably not make much sense...)

Well, as long as you do not change the platform the CIN resource should simply be forward portable by LabVIEW itself (Platform means here OS AND CPU bitness). Of course if what you say is true and LabVIEW 2009 does not support CINs at all anymore then this can't work.
An LSB is a compiled object file prepared into a special form by the lsbutil tool. But the basic fact of compiled object code remains. So the only way to get back at what this CIN does is to extract the binary object file image from the LSB, something not exactly obvious but doable, and then disassemble that object file into assembly code and translate that back into C code.
However this is considered illegal in many jurisdications including the US, when you do not hold the copyright on the original code. DMCA anyone?

I'm trying to optimise the amount of GPU memory my textures use for a Stage3D project so I thought I'd finally switch to ATF textures. I've converted them from png to atf using the png2atf tool and I'm loading them with a URLLoader but I'm having trouble passing the textures into ByteArrays. I've tried various things and I'm running out of ideas; Does anyone know the AS to pass a loaded atf into a ByteArray? I need it to be a ByteArray for upload to the GPU with the
uploadCompressedTextureFromByteArray method on the Texture class - unless someone knows better...

I want to load them in at run time with a URLLoader. THAT's working fine; It's then passing the loaded object into a ByteArray that I'd like help with. Cheers.

Is there any specific number or code on the box to tell if it is factory unlocked? Id hate to pay for it to find out that it's not.

The only way to know is to go to a place that is actually authorized to sell factory unlocked phones. More than likely your friend has bought hacked phones that he is looking to resell for a profit.
Also, the warranty is only valid in the country of origin. If these phones came from anywhere else, you will need to take the phone back to that country if you have any issues.
