  • Photoshop in Adobe RGB 16 bit don't fill a layer with paint bucket and a color 35.40.35.100.

I create a new file in RGB profile Adobe RGB 16bit
take the paint bucket and fill the layer with a color created by selector with the following parameters 35.40.35.100 CMYK and RGB corresponds to 24.20.18 the result is a full level of color 76.73.63.9 but in RGB corresponds to 24.20.18 because the values in cmyk not match ??

Could you please post screenshots (with the pertinent Panels visible) to illustrate the issue?
Are you not aware that you cannot reliably define a CMYK color in RGB because the transformation is performed through the Profile Connection Space (Lab) and depends on the involved Color Spaces/ICC profiles (edited) and the Color Settings?

  • How to synchronize colors with two different video cameras

I own Sony FX1 and HC9 video cameras. The color between the two video cameras can be pretty noticeable, and I tend to flip between the two cameras a lot during editing. Ideally I would get them to match up better before I start filming, but despite my attempts, I still can see a noticeable difference between them in post-production. I know I can use the color corrector filter to adjust the colors, but is there a more effective way to adjust the colors of the two video so they match better? I have used that eyedropper on the "visual" screen of the color corrector to adjust the white balance. Is there something similar where I could for example click the eyedropper on the blue of one video and it would change the blue of the video from the second camera to match?

You don't really have the controls for that in FCE. You can't fine tune the color with real precision for color matching in FCE. There is a match hue function with the eyedropper, but without separate shadows, mids, and highlight color controls there is only so much you can do.

  • How to Inverse color with home button?

IPad4andi OS 7.0.4. Just did reset. Now I can no longer invert color by pressing home button three times. Where can I set this up?

I just tested the triple click on home button setting described by King_Penguin.
It works on my iPad Air / iOS 7.0.4
I went into the Settings App as described and
          checked: VoiceOver, Invert Colors, Zoom
Are you triple clicking it quick enough ?
I tested the Voice Over feature similarly (triple click on home button)
kind of interesting that when Voice Over is active
you have to Double Tab on icons and
check boxes to activate the GUI items..
in particular the check box to deactivate Voice Over..

  • How to select a shape from pen tool for paint bucket

I was under the notion that I could make a shape with the pen tool and if I closed the the shape it would then be selected in a way that would allow me to color the interior with paint bucket.
However, when I splash the paintbucket inside my shape, it paints the whole layer, not just the part inside my shape.
Obviously I don't understand how it is supposed to work.
Apparently I've gone at this the wrong way.. I want to create a freeform shape, that once created will be a selected region in the same way a rectangle or elips would.
What is the best way to do that?  I'm shooting for thought bubble sort of shape, something along the line of the outline of an egg, but with a tail at one end.

Added tips from Tip Merchant ($200 consulation fee)
    - on mac - command/ numeric keypad Enter turns the path into a selection. Option delete then fills.
    - an action can be setup to bring up Fill Path from the Path panel menu. Just pressing enter fills with FG color
These are ways to avoid he paths panel altogether. Best way may be to use the TINY fill path icon in that panel as was pointed out by John

  • Photshop CS5 paint bucket colors do not match selected color picker colors

I recently installed CS5 on my laptop after first removing it from my previous machine.
All licences were validated so no problems there.
Now when using paint bucket in photoshop, the colors that I select in the color picker are not the colors that result when I use the paint bucket.
If I create a new black canvas then the colors selected in color picker work with paint bucket.
But if I attempt to recolor the background in an existing image that I import into photoshop, I get the mismatch with colors when I use paint bucket. My method for selecting colors is the same in each case, I select 'set foreground color' and set the color using html values entry at the bottom of the panel.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Try changing Image > Mode to RGB – does the Tool work as expected then?
    To quote from the Help:
    Indexed Color mode
Indexed Color mode produces 8-bit image files with up to 256 colors. When converting to indexed color, Photoshop builds a color lookup table (CLUT), which stores and indexes the colors in the image. If a color in the original image does not appear in the table, the program chooses the closest one or uses dithering to simulate the color using available colors.
Although its palette of colors is limited, indexed color can reduce file size yet maintain the visual quality needed for multimedia presentations, web pages, and the like. Limited editing is available in this mode. For extensive editing, you should convert temporarily to RGB mode. Indexed color files can be saved in Photoshop, BMP, DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine), GIF, Photoshop EPS, Large Document Format (PSB), PCX, Photoshop PDF, Photoshop Raw, Photoshop 2.0, PICT, PNG, Targa®, or TIFF formats.

  • Cannot use paint bucket on 32bit

i am trying to isolate the chrome ball part in my picture. and I have made a selection around my chromeball and ctrl+shift+i to reverse my selection.
and then I tried to fill it in with black color using paint bucket and it poped error message that saying it doesn't support 32bit?
I am following the tutorial on digital tutor and it works according to the tutorial and how come it is not working on my photoshop?

Yes, the paint bucket doesn't work in 32 bit/channel. Underneath it has some assumptions about the range of the image data that will take a while to resolve.
But the Fill command works just fine.

  • Paint Bucket not filling entire selection (CS4/5)

Hello, I'm a professional cartoonist and have worked in Photoshop since the earliest versions.  Since upgrading to CS4 (and now CS5), I've been having trouble using the Paint Bucket Tool, so I'd appreciate any help here.
    Here's a basic example ...
    1) Imagine a single layer CMYK document.
    2) Draw a closed shape using the Pencil Tool (no antialiasing!) with a color of choice.
    3) Select the inside of this shape using the Magic Wand Tool (again, no antialiasing!).
    4) Fill the selection with the EXACT SAME COLOR using Paint Bucket tool.
    5) Deselect region.
    6) Now use menu options SELECT -> COLOR RANGE ... And click on the filled region (technically, that color should be selected by default since it's your current foreground color).
    7) Click OK
    8) Choose a new foreground color and then Paint Bucket the selected region, BUT make sure you click on the area you filled in Step 4 ... i.e., do not click on a pixel you drew using the Pencil Tool.
In CS4 and now CS5, the Paint Bucket is not including the pencilled outline when I click fill.  That is, I'm left with the original pencil outline, and the filled region in a new color.
HOWEVER ... If in Step 8, I'm lucky enough to click one of the original pencil marks, the entire color region fills as it always did in previous versions.
This has grown increasingly annoying while working with my cartoons because I use the Pencil Tool to "close" gaps in my inked lines, and then the Paint Bucket to fill.  If I decide to change the color of a character's shirt, I'm left with tiny spots in the gap regions.
    Help would be much appreciated!!
    Thanks

    Thanks for your suggestions, Charles.
Here's a better explanation as to what is happening with visual examples ...
I ink my cartoons with traditional tools, and then scan a high-res copy into Photoshop.  The black ink is converted to a 2 color bitmap so that there is no anti-aliasing.  This file is then converted to CMYK for coloring.  The black line art becomes the bottom ("Background") layer, and I add a new layer on top for the flat colors.  The flat colors layer is set to "Multiply" so that I can close tiny gaps in my lines with color, without erasing the original black lines.
    Visually ...
    1) Bottom layer is black outline with no antialiasing ...
    2) Create new layer on top for flat colors and set to MULTIPLY.  Using pencil tool (and Wacom Tablet), close the gap with red ...
    3) Because layer is on multiply, you can see that the red in Step 2 is actually this shape ...
    4) Magic Wand to select the area INSIDE of the now closed circle.  Wand is set to "Sample All Layers" so that it selects only the area closed in by the black outline layer AND the red.  Paint bucket this area with the exact same red ...
    5)  Once again, here is what the flat color layer actually looks like since Multiply is on ...
    6) Magic wand the area outside of the circle and fill with a DIFFERENT color ...
    7) Now, suppose you didn't want the circle to be red.  I now select the red using Magic Wand (or Select -> Color Range menu) and click on the red.  An outline appears around the ENTIRE red shape (i.e., you would assume that all of the red has been selected since it is the EXACT same color ... verified using eyedropper tool) ... However, if you click to fill with Paint Bucket, here is the result ...
    8) For some reason, Photoshop is "remembering" the red originally drawn using the Pencil Tool in Step 2 as a separate region ... Even though all of the colors are on the exact same layer ...
I hope this better explains what I'm experiencing here
    ANY IDEAS???

  • Cannot find paint bucket icon...

hi all. brand new here. here's what i did. hopefully someone knows. i sketched art work on paper, scanned it, and used live trace in illustrator to create the design. i was told that subsequently coloring it with paint bucket under photoshop would be much simpler. i pull up the .ai file in ps, and simply cannot find the paint bucket tool! what did i do, or not do?
THANKS in advance for your help

It is co-located with the gradient Tool. Hold the mouse down there and you will see!

  • How to isolate part of my workspace and use paint bucket to fill it with color?

Here is my situation:  I want to draw a vertical line on the left-hand side of my workspace about an inch away (to the right) from the left edge.   Then I want to fill up that inch-wide column with a particular color.  The end result being that I will have an inch-wide bar of color running vertically down the left side of my project.
I know this is probably really easy to do but it's been a long time since I had a course in Photoshop.
    I use PSE 6.  Thanks!

    Something like this:
    1. Use the Rectangular Marquee Tool to draw the rectangular selection
    2. Select the Paint Bucket Tool
        Add a new blank layer
(so it's easy to change later)
Click on the foreground color chip in the toolbox and set your color for the fill
Click inside the selection with the paint bucket tool
        Select>Deselect
You can use the rulers to see how far an inch is in your document
    (View>Rulers)

  • How do you keep selected colors with Live Paint Bucket?

I am always having to re-select the colors for fill and stroke each time I use the Paint Bucket.  This is tedious. There must be a way to keep the selection...

Not sure what the "Live Paint Bucket" is, but if you are working in Premiere's Titler, and have constant Stroke and Fills, you can easily create and Save a Style, so that the colors and attributes will be constant, Title through Title. The Style will even set your font, and its size, for reuse.
Another method would be to Save the Title, and use it in multiple Projects, just changing the Text, as is required.
Now, if you are talking about something else, please point me in the correct direction.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Coloring issues with magic wand tool and paint bucket tool, leaves uncolored areas near drawn lines

Photoshop CS6 doesn't color properly.  Whetever I use brush tool or elliptical marquee tool to do the lines (with brush tool I use Hard Round, not soft), it doesn't color the whole area when i fill them with color. This happens with both magic wand tool AND paint bucket tool, there is always a small uncolored area near the lines. I have tolerance on 30,  and anti-alias, contiguous and sample all layers boxes checked. (this setting worked on my old CS3) I have tried tolerance from 0 to 100, no difference. I have also tried unchecking the boxes I just mentioned, still no difference. I hope there is a solution for this, because it is tedious to always go to the Select - Modify - Expand every time I need to color some area. So how do I fix this problem? I use seperate layers for lines and colors, like I have always done with other Photoshop versions. Even in school where they have CS5 those normal settings work.

    Hello Chris,
I don't think this is a "user error". I think Adobe should be able to program a state of the art paint bucket, which is capable to get this done right.
Other applications are able to get this done right.
Please don't fall into a programmer's ignorance ("this is done right by definition") but listen to us artists and improve this unintuitive behavior. Add something like "ignore transparent pixels", because this doesn't even work if you draw on an empty layer.
    Thank you!

  • My paint bucket is filling with a different color than I selected

Please help! All of a sudden my paint bucket is filling with odd colors......tried opening and closing program but it doesn't work. Thanks in advance.....I have Adobe Photoshop CS.

I'd check the blend mode and opacity settings set in the tool options bar with the paint bucket tool selected.
Most likely you want it set to Normal and 100%
Or right click on the Paint Bucket Tool icon in the tool options bar and choose Reset Tool.

  • Color Adjust Filter and Paint Bucket not available in CS3

I recently noticed that Colors in the Filter menu is not available in my install of Illustrator CS3. I also noticed that the Paint Bucket tool is missing. Both appear to be in the Plug-ins folder in their respective folders (Illustrator Filters and Tools) but are not available in the program. I am using Mac OS X version 10.4.11 on a PowerPC G4 running at 1.6 GHz with 1 GB of SDRAM. I have the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium package.
There may be other problems with my install, but these are the two things I notices. Can anyone shed some light on why this is happening and how to fix it? I tried a re-install, but to no avail.

Basically yes, but not quite. You may want to review the new features. The paint bucket was removed because it was, well, pointless in most cases. THe Live Paint tool is much more useful than the old Paint Bucket.
