Got an iPod touch as gift. Set up account and library on laptop w/MS XP Pro. Laptop fried, and not replaced. Been using Touch as standalone. Now want to combine with family account on different computer, Vista. So I can sync calendar and contacts. Don't want to lose library on Touch. Don't care about anything else.

How to change the account setting for App Store

once you sign out just click sign in and put the new email address in the "Username" field and your correct password then click OK
it will look like it is doing nothing but give it time and it will sign you in with the new username.
is it possible you have multiple itunes accounts?
when you changed your itunes account from your me.com to your gmail.com address did you change it within the itunes Edit Account Info ('Store' menu then select 'View My Account', then sign in , select edit account info) or did you just create another itunes account?

I need to combine 2 sets of bookmarks in one computer. One set was just replaced -- how do I get it back and add it to the second?

I am combining the contents of 2 computers into one new computer. I did a file transfer from the first, which transferred all of my bookmarks and passwords; when I did a file transfer from the second, it replaced the bookmarks and passwords that had already transferred. I want BOTH sets together as one Bookmark list in my new computer. How do I find the set that has just been replaced and add it to the second transfer?
One last thing -- I can still access the computer from the second transfer, but the first has been wiped clean. I wish I had known that the bookmarks would be replaced before I did the second transfer.

From what I understood you created UDA's for your accounts dimension and tagged the account members as tblast/first etc. based on the UDA's.
I guess you tagged the time dimension as dynamic since you no longer use the native tb first/last etc. options in the accounts dimension.
Do you create an additional dimension like View (based on gary's solution in his blog) to calculate MTD/YTD/QTD?
Can you please help me clarify these...
BTW, I am creating an ASO application and I have to use time balance and dynamic time members...however I cannot afford to keep a separate dimension for QTD/YTD/MTD. I wanted them to be a part of Time dimension.

I have a little related question about a bug I've got. Would you have any ideas about this?
I've got a bit of a problem with the Now Playing window that should pop open and act as a player-window, with the artwork of the song filling the space. This function was working for me but it's now stopped. When I click on the Now Playing image it tries to open, adding a tab to the task bar, but then I can't expand the window. This has happened before and then righted itself but there must be some reason why it stops. I've recently been updating a lot of song artworks. This could be related. Is this an iTunes bug or is the fault with my computer? Any fixes that you would know of?

You need to contact Adobe Support thru chat and ask them to reset your activations to get the used activation freed up. Your license allows you to have two activated installations, so there should not be any reason you can't just install on the new machine and activate it now, except if you do pursue the reset it will reset all your activations... so it might be better to wait.

How can I restore bookmarks from a now dead computer to a new computer? I cannot access the bookmark library as directed in the restore article.

My old computer died. I got a new computer 2 weeks ago. I tried using the restore from backup function as described in the Mozilla help article. However, when I click on the bookmark icon, it only shows menus, not the library as described in the article. How do I access the backup function so I can move my old bookmarks to my new machine?

How do I deactivate Photoshop Elements 9 from a dead computer?

I recently got a new computer to replace my old one which stopped working. I had Photoshop Elements 9 installed on the old computer and used it often, so I installed it on my new computer. However, it told me that the serial number had been used for 2 computers already (my old computer and my dad's computer) and that I needed to deactivate the old one before I can activate this one. This is impossible because the old computer can't be used anymore.
Is there some way the serial number on my old computer could be deactivated online?

Hello, I have a problem with Activation. My computer was broken and I had my Photoshop Elements 9 installed in it. Now I want to activate my PSP ELements 9 on new computer. It says "Activation limit reached for Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. " And it wants me to deactivate my PSP ELements on the broken computer or a new serial number. Copy \Music\iTunes\iTunes music\ folder to the memory stick.
Plug it into your MacBook.
Open iTunes.
Go to iTunes prefs -> Advanced. Tick *Copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library*.
Now go to iTunes menu File -> Add to library anbd select the *iTunes music folder* on the memory stick then click Ok.

You'd basically start with key commands Command + Option + R, choose Disk Utility to erase the drive and then Apple's servers will reinstall the OS. Once that is done, the setup will begin and Setup Asst will be offered in the beginning (it's only offered once - you decline and you have to use Migration Asst or start over).
