How do I combine Gmail contacts, Contacts on MacBook Pro and iPhone5 without duplicating?

I use a MacBook Pro, but my preferred mail is Gmail, so I have a lot of contacts on my MacBook from Gmail and just a few that have gradually crept into the Address Book that came with the MacBook Pro. Just got a new iPhone 5 and have spent two days manually deleting duplicate contacts that were caused in the switch from my old Droid to the iPhone. There MUST be a way to efficiently merge all three address/email sources without winding up with triplicate entries!
Any suggestions?

How can I take lion off of my MacBook Pro because it has too much problems with the new operating system, I have talked to Apple support for both computers and still nothing happens I think they know that there's something wrong and they don't know how to fix it are there working on fixing it. So how can I put snow leopard Mac on my computer so that it works every time, there's a lot of good features in Lion but there's a lot of bad features and especially when it comes to turning on your computer and the memory that it has held so if one item is missing then it doesn't work and you have to reboot the computer to get it to work but I still like my Mac.

Aperture 2,how can I share one vault with my MacBook Pro and G5?

I want to run Aperture 2, on my MacBook Pro and G5, I want to keep all images on an external Firewire drive. I would also store the vault there as well. I want to be able to have the choice to work on the my photos on my MacBook Pro, take the external Firewire hard drive with me and work on my photos, then when I come home I want all of those changes reflected back on m G5 when I open it, and updated the vault.

I want all images stored in a single Library that will be accessed on my G5 & MacBook Pro, but I want to create a single Vault and when changes are made to my Library from either system, when I go to other other systems they are reflected there, with a warning that my Vault needs to be updated. This is my goal, this is how I envision having both systems using the same Library and same Vault.

How to sync all my contacts? MacBook Pro to Bluetooth Nokia 6103 phone.

Good morning, everyone!
I'm having some trouble with the bluetooth connection between my MBP (C2D) and my Nokia 6103 telephone. Specifically, I am trying to send the contents of my addressbook from the MBP to the Nokia. However, I'm only able to send one contact at a time and the connection turns off and back on between each contact. I'm presuming (hoping?) that I'm missing something quite obvious.
Can anyone offer some help? (I've posted this same question in the e-mail/addressbook area.)

The obvious thing I think you may be missing is iSync.

Open the Bluetooth preferences pane, click the Devices tab, then click the 'Setup new device..." button, then follow the instructions.
iSync will handle the synchronisation of Contacts and Calendars between your phone and Mac. Its not necessary to do it manually from Address Book.

How do I use the App store with macbook pro and mac pro

I currently use the app store with the mac book, but want to buy (share?) apps and music with the mac pro.
I can't find anything that specifically outlines how this works.

Your license from the MAS allows you to download and install the apps on as many Macs as you own or have under your control (institutional or employer supplied Macs.) The Mac should to be running Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard or Mac OS X 10.7.2 Lion. Open the MAS app on the Mac Pro and sign into your account to have access to download all of your previous purchases in the Purchased pane.
Simple apps can also be dragged & dropped over a network connection from the MacBook to the Mac Pro.

Have storage optimised with Photo Library but need more space - How do I delete photos just off my MacBook Pro and not from other devices and icloud

I moved a 40GB file off my MacBook Pro to make room so that I could enable the iCloud Photo Library. I optimised the storage but during this process it used 10GB of space and so I cant now put back the file I took off my mac. I though that once I had optimised the storage I would gain space not loose it!. So i'm wondering how can I delete photos off my MacBook and not off all my devices and so I can get this 40 GB file back on ??

Hi, that's how it works. photos in Photo Stream are these ones that actually exist on your Camera Roll. Photo Stream is an iClous service that helps you to share photos. Just think about Dropbox or any other cloud services, isn't it that you delete a file on your computer, then found the file no longer exist on your other devices?
If you want to keep the photos while making them occupy less space, I suggest you try SafeEraser's Photo Compressor feature. It compress the photos and make it easy for you to keep them on your iPhone without losing much quality.

Combining Aperture Libraries on a MacBook Pro and an External Hard Drive

Hi all,
I'm hoping that you might be able to help me with a little advice!
Having taken the plunge and recently invested in a MacBook Pro, I have a couple of questions regarding use of the iPhoto/Aperture library.
I have already invested in Aperture for its' advanced editing features - which is great so far. However, the MacBook is the 13" retina with 512GB of storage - and, whilst still quite large, I'm worried that I'll quickly run out of storage as I do take rather alot of photos! So far, I've only imported my library from my iPhone and it tells me that I've already filled 20GB with photos (and I only had about 6GB of photos on my phone so I'm not sure what's happened there).
On my old non-Mac computer, I have approximately 250GB of photos which I'm reluctant to copy onto the MacBook for fear of instantly bogging it down by clogging up half of the memory. Ideally, what I would like to do is import the pictures (so I can still see them and still have a 'hard copy') so that they're in iPhoto - and then export the entire iPhoto library to an external hard drive (I've read about having it in the 'journaled' format so that should be OK). The EHD would then be regularly backed up.
However, for times when I'm away (eg, on holiday and fancy doing a bit of photo editing if I've got a couple of hours free), I don't much want to have to lug the hard-drive round with me.
Would it be possible to keep the "main" iPhoto library on the EHD - and then just import albums into it (from the MacBook) at regular intervals. For example, if I go away for a fortnight and come back with 14 new albums, can I merge these 14 albums with the iPhoto library stored on the EHD? the title of your question is saying "Aperture", but in the body you are asking about iPhoto libraries.
Have you previously worked with iPhoto and are considering to switch to Aperture?

Aperture and iPhoto now share a unified library format. If you are having the latest version of iPhoto and of Aperture, both applications can open and update each others libraries.

If you have multiple iPhoto libraries, you can easily consolidate them into one library, that could reside on an external drive.
if you want to use Aperture while on the road, with the external drive disconnected, you could export a small, partial aperture library from your main library with the projects you are currently working on, an later merge this working set back into your main library. That is, what I am doing when on vacation, and I'm only taking my MacBook Pro with me.

How do I stop receiving messages on my macbook pro and receive them on my iPhone 5s?

I have a macbook pro 13 inch with Retina display and intel core i5 and I also have an iPhone 5s. When I receive a new iMessage I only receive it on my macbook and not on my iPhone. I wanted to know how to go back to receiving messages on my iPhone and not on my macbook. The iMessage setting on my phone is off but i carry on receiving messages on my macbook. Can anyone help me please.

If you set your imessage off on your phone it will only turn it off on your phone i think I don't think it effects your mac. I'm not 100% sure on this though.
If you want to remove imessages from your mac - Open iMessage, go to Messages top left, and then select Preferences. Select "Accounts" and then simply "Sign out" That should do it.

How do you use multiple displays with a MacBook Pro and iMac

I have an iMac and a MacbookPro laptop both upgraded to OS X 10.9 (Mavericks). I'd like to use multiple displays with them. Can I do this without an Apple TV? They are both on the same network. If I can, can someone please give some instructions on how this can be done?

Both computers have ports for external monitors. Check your user manuals. Only one display can be added to the MBP, but newer iMacs have dual Thunderbolt ports.
Do your own Google research to learn what to do, but reading your manuals should be all you really need. It' not rocket science yet.

How do I download Microsoft Office for my macbook pro retina display without a disc drive

I can't seem to find anywhere to purchase a downloadable version of Microsoft Office online. Is there one out there? I need to get Office on my computer but don't feel like purchasing the external disc drive. Is there any way around this?
