How Do I combine Outlook 2010 .pst archives?

I am huge PST files in Outlook 2010? Now I am looking for a method that can merge related PST files into single PST without any data alteration. How can I do so?

How to merge two Outlook 2010 pst data files?

Easy way: with the one you want to use open in Outlook and the other one not in your profile, go to File, Open, Import.
If you only want to merge some content, open both pst files in outlook and drag between folders. For calendar, use a list view to see all of the appointments.

  • Outlook 2010 psts downloading duplicates - new issue

    Hi all,
I've seen so many posts regarding duplicate emails over the last few days but nothing that explains my exact problem and any solution to it so apologies if this is just re-wording an old problem
We've been using Outlook 2010 for the last 3 years that I've been with my current company and in that time I've deployed and redeployed most employees onto this version. 90% of them work off of pst files connecting to MDaemon messaging server.
In the past whenever I've upgraded someone to 2010, reinstalled 2010 onto their pc or upgraded their pc inc. 2010 I've always set their outlook up the same way:
    Manually configure
    POP3 account
Use an existing outlook pst file
advanced settings > leave a copy on the server > do not delete after n days
This has never caused me any issues. I've never had duplicates come down using this method and it has always just picked up where they last left off
In the last few weeks however we have used this exact same method on about 4 accounts and all of them have started downloading duplicates. The first few were only small (1000-2000 emails) and so we went through and removed the duplicates afterward. However
once we deleted these duplicates they then re-downloaded again. One account we had this delete/redownload/delete combo happen 4 times!
So far the only way I've found around it is to move all of their emails out of the IMAP inbox folder so that Outlook can't find anything to download. This does work but we've never had to do this before
    The question is multipart:
    1) Why is Outlook now downloading these duplicates when it never has before
    2) Why does Outlook continue to download duplicates after a download/deletion has happened
    3) How do we prevent these duplicates from happening in the pst file without removing emails from the IMAP folder
    4) Where does Outlook store it's records of what's already downloaded
I've been told that what I've covered above is just the way Outlook works with pst files but I simply can't logically believe that. Fair enough on a new profile on a new machine I can understand that the setup may not know what has already been downloaded
but then there must be something somewhere that tells Outlook that it's already downloaded emails somehow, otherwise you would constantly be redownloading every email. And if this record is stored in the pst file itself then why would it download duplicates
if you use the same pst file elsewhere?
I'm struggling to understand and/or pinpoint why duplicates all of a sudden are now plaguing us. I've not had this issue in 3 yeares of using hte same method to set up accounts on new installs using existing pst files

    Hi,
How about manually canceling the credential window, can Outlook still send/receive emails properly?
For this kind of credential issues, I would first try creating another Outlook profile and test if the issue persists.
    Thanks,

  • How do I force Outlook 2010 to use Firefox instead if IE8?

Whenever I click a link in my emails, it opens in IE8. With only one link, it works fine, but when I click on multiple links in a techie email, IE locks up when dealing with multiple tabs. Firefox works great.
Where do I change the settings in Outlook 2010 so that links will open using Firefox instead???????
Help files have not produced an answer.
This is on a Win 7 Ultimate 32, Office 2010 Military version, with full Outlook 2010.

  • How do I sync outlook 2010 using the latest idunes

I upgraded to the latest version of Itunes and now Itunes will not see my outlook?

After multiple hours of searching and trial and error I found the solution--for those that are still looking.  Yes you can sync Outlook 2010 running on Windows 7 to your iPhone 4--contacts, calendars, notes, bookmarks, etc.
    Here's how:
    Items you will need:
    iPhone
    Computer
    Microsoft Outlook 2010
iTunes USB dock connector for iPhone
Step 1 Open iTunes and connect your iPhone to your computer.
Step 2 Click your iPhone name in the "Devices" section of the left menu column.
Step 3 Click the "Info" tab in the main window.
Step 4 Check the box marked "Sync Contacts with". Step 5 Click the drop-down box next to "Sync Contacts with" and select "Outlook." Step 6 Select "All Contacts" or "Selected Groups." Step 7 Check the boxes next to the Outlook contact groups you wish to sync if in Step 6 you chose to sync only groups. Step 8 Click "Apply." If the sync is successful, skip to Step 15. If the sync is unsuccessful, continue to Step 9. Step 9 Open Outlook. Step 10 Click "Tools" and select "Trust Center." Step 11 Click "Add-ins." Step 12 Click "COM Add-ins" in the "Manage" section. Step 13 Click "iTunes Sync Add-in," then click OK. Step 14 Repeat Steps 1-8. Step 15 Connect your iPhone to your computer and sync as normal.

  • How do I combine my 3 pst files

    Hi All,
I am hoping to combine the various PST files that I have from 2 different computers now that I have moved them into Outlook for Mac.  It seems that they should do such a thing but not sure where to start or if it is even possible.

  • Outlook 2010 PST Import issue: ".pst is not an Outlook data file (.pst)"

I recently installed the Office 2010 Beta and am attempting to import my old .PST files from Outlook 2007.  However, every time I try it I get the error, ".pst is not an Outlook data file (.pst)".  The two data files are large (2+ GB in size each) but have been working fine with Outlook 2007.  Steps to repro are:
    1.       In Outlook 2010, click the File tab.
    2.       Click Open and then click Open Outlook Data File.
    3.       Navigate to the .pst file to import and then click Ok.
When I click "open Outlook data file" I get the error "the file Outlook.pst is not an outlook data file (.pst).
I've seen at least one other person post this question on another forum...  Any help you can provide would be fantastic as I have a lot of history (obviously ;-) tied up those files.
    Thanks!

  • How do i migrate outlook email .pst files

Just switched from pc to mac. I need to migrate my .pst outlook email files to mail in mac.
    how do I do that?

The simplest way is to open a MobileMe or Google Apps account and sync the info across the divide.
Almost as simple is LittleMachines O2M which will convert the pst into files that iCal/Address Book and Mail can read.
If you are looking for a free solution, have plenty of time and a tolerance for frustration you can try exporting Outlooks contacts to a txt file, then use one of the free converters to get it into Mbox format and import that into mail, for calendars there are some utilities that claim to be able to do the same for iCal but I have never seen one of them actually work without creating more work tidying up. Emailchemy will move the mail to MacMail very well (but it's not free, cheap)
Unless you know what you are doing and have time and patience to spare choose option 1 (sync) or 2 (O2M), I have tried the free way and am glad that I do not own a firearm.
PS: if your email is Imap or Exchange but not POP it will not need to be exported/imported, connecting to the account will bring it back 'as-was'

  • How can I disable Outlook 2010 addins using Group Policy

I have downloaded and imported the templates to enable me to set a GPO for disabling Outlook  addins, but I am confused about how I disable things like the SharePoint addins (we do not use SharePoint so this is not needed). I have found several
posts saying to do this via a registry change, which I can easily do via GPO, but it does not say how to add keys for the different addins.
Does anyone have details of what I need to add into the registry or have a link to somewhere that gives a list of common ones I can use?

    Hi,
    >>Does anyone have details of what I need to add into the registry or have a link to somewhere that gives a list of common ones I can use?
After searching around, I think the following article may give us some tips about how to manage application-level add-ins. To disable a specific add-in, we can try to set the value of
LoadBehavior entry to 0 in the add-in's corresponding registry key. The registry key path for a specific add-in is as follows:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\application name\Addins\add-in ID
    Registry Entries for Application-Level Add-Ins
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/bb386106.aspx#LoadBehavior
If this doesn't help, in order to get better help, it's recommended that we ask for suggestions in the following Outlook or SharePoint forums.

  • How do I sync Outlook 2010 with my BB-Z10?

I have downloaded and installed Blackberry Link and successfully ran it. Everything I want has been transferred from my Torch, EXCEPT the calendar. I could get it from Outlook, but I don't see any way of syncing the BB10 with Outlook - which is something I DEFINITELY want to do. I use Outlook all the time.

Unfortunately, we have been told that wired sync will not be coming to BlackBerry Link.
The best workaround we've found is to sign up for an Outlook.com email account. Then install the hotmail connector in Outlook to sync Outlook to that outlook.com account. You can then set up the Outlook.com account on the Z10 (without email sync if you don't want that for email) and calendar and contacts will sync.
I know it's not what you want to hear but it's the best workaround we've been able to find so far. Outlook.com is the best for syncing everything. You can use google if you pay for the Google Apps service. Outlook.com is free.

  • How do I make Outlook 2010 shared folders sync immediately?

    Dear microsoft community,
I have shared folders with a lot of collegues, where we receive mails, which we frequently access and process. A problem we have though, is that the mails that e.g. I access, do not turn up as "read" for my collegues. They still show as unread.
Is there a way that this could be sync´ed realtime?
    Thank you in advance,
    Oskar.

    Hi,
The users may have downloaded the shared folders in Outlook, this is kind of like Cached Exchange Mode & Online Mode, if we switch to "Online" it will be more "realtime".
    Check the following setting:
File -> Account Settings -> Account Settings -> Double click on the Exchange account name -> More Settings -> Advanced tab -> Untick the checkbox of "Download shared folders" -> OK.
This will abandon shared folders cache and should improve the performance in your scenario.

  • How to sync Outlook 2010 Contact Groups to my iPad and iPhone

I am trying to figure out how to sync my Outlook 2010 contact groups to my iPad and iPhone.  Also how do you manage the groups once on the device?  Seems they can only be selected and not edited.  I can get my Good contact group and my Windows Contacts contact group to sync but not my Outlook 2010 groups.  Any ideas?

Mac solution.  No idea if works on PC:
    Work Around:
    On your mac:
    1.  Open a new email
    2.  Insert name of an existing group into one of the "To" fields as usual.
    3.  Highlight all the resulting names in the "To" entry
[Highlight first name, and while holding shift, highlight last name and all will highlight[]
    4. Copy (Command C) the highlighted emails
    5. Paste (Command V) nto a pages document
    6. Remove the name and anything else preceeding the first < and also the first < of only the first entry whixh will look like this:
         [email protected]>,
    7. Remove the > of the last email which will look like this:
         , Jane Doe <[email protected]
    8. Copy the entire altered list from the pages document
9, Go to Contact Book and click + to add a new entry
10.. Name the entry (XXX Group for iPad) or whatever you wish to call it
    11.  Paste all the copied altered list into any one of the email entry spaces
    12.  Click on "Done"
    13.  Create new email On iPad and click on + in any one of the "To" lines and search for "XXX Group for iPad"  You cannot just key in XXX Group for iPad!!!!!!!, you must use + contact search.
    14.  Enter the selected iPad contact group into the "To" line.
    15.  All the entries will now appear in the "To" line and you are good to go.
Adding or deleting email addresses from the iPad group:
Easiest:  Alter the original mac group in the usual way and repeat steps 1-14 above.  It seems impossible to edit within the emai line of the iPad contact entry.
    Rediculously simple once figured out.
Happy emailling, but please send Bcc so that you don't spread your groups' email addresses all over the internet for spam, viruses, and other unwanted emails.  Be considerate and ask your recipients to notifiy you if they wish to be deleted from the lists you compose.

  • AD: Auto Archive Outlook 2010 GPO

    Hello,
I am currently testing Auto Archiving in Outlook 2010 via GPO but am having a little trouble with it. I copied the ADMX files to the DC and the workstation I am testing it from. I was able to get the policy applied and everything seems to be working. However,
here is where I am confused. I have it set to auto archive anything older than a month (to test) and the only thing I see archived are Sent emails. Does anyone know why it did not archive the Inbox and anything that was older than  a month in it?
    On this test machine:
    Windows 7 64bit
    Office 2010
    Server:
    Exchange 2010
    AD 2008 R2

    Hi,
Please use Group Policy Management Console to generate a Group Policy result to check policy apply status.
After you applied Outlook 2010 Auto Archive policy, its data are stored at:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\14.0\outlook\preferences
Check such registry hive in your client; make sure your user applied the policy successfully.
    > I have it set to auto archive anything older than a month (to test) and the only thing I see archived are
