How do I combine two dated (same date) sub folders to one?

I have two "2011-05-21" sub-folders, one is properly under the folder "2011" while the other is under "2014". They have different images in them so I would like to move the images in the 2014 folder to the 2011 folder. Thanks.

In the LR Library click on the 2014 folder and use Ctrl+A (select all) and then drag the thumbnails to the correct folder.
If the 2014 folder is then empty you can right-click on it and choose remove.

IF you are going from PC to external then drag the whole library to the external drive and andwer no when asked if you want to copy over existing files. That's how I do it. No duplication and only the new songs actually copy.

I found out how to do what I wanted and I'm giving my steps in hopes that it might help someone else. I wanted to put several photos from a file onto a new blank image. This is what I did.
1. Create a blank page.    File/New/ Blank File.   Put in the size. I used 8x10.
2. Bring the photo you want to use into Elements as you always do. It will list along the top next to the blank sheet.
3. Choose SELECT (top of screen)/ Select All.
4. Choose Edit/Copy   or Command "C"
5. Click on the Blank File.   Chose Edit/Paste or Command "V"
6. Click on Image/ Transform or Command "T". There should be a dotted line around your pasted image. You can then move and adjust the image to how you want it. When finished, press the check-mark on lower right of photo.
7.   Repeat this with all the photos you want on the new blank file.
8. You will see on lower right of Elements, the background layer and as many layers as you have photos. These layers need to be permanently placed on the background layer. Go to Layers and press Merge Visible. This will merge all layers to the background.
9. Save as and you are done.

Both are based on a recent backup, so they are lengthy--except that the new machine's database has a hole in it for the period I was on the laptop and the laptop's database also has gaps. How can I combine two databases into one that includes the messages from both machines?

Thanks for your reply. My profile folder did not contain any MBOX files. I found them in another folder on another drive. The Import-Export tools simply transferred each folder to the current one as a sub-folder. Then I had to use ctrl-a to select everything in the folder and move them manually to the current folder (such as inbox). Then I could use the other utility you mentioned to remove the duplicates. This had to be done, one folder at a time, to combine each folder. It worked, but I had about thirty-five folders to deal with. The whole process took most of two days to complete. I wish there was a simple way to blend everything together in one action, but I could not find an add-on that would do this.

To clarify, I want to be able to make a flie I can take to a photo printing place (not for my own printer) so they can print it and I crop it. The place I used to print at used to print an 8"x12" for the same price as 8"x10" (now they may only do 8x10 and I would need to keep the ratio the same so it would be two 3.3"x10" pics on an 8x10").
