How do I combine two user accounts into one account?

When we originally set-up our iMac, I set-up two accounts for my wife and I. Since then it has been a royal pain with music and applications sharing. How do I merge the two accounts into one?

I found an answer to this by searching on "merging two accounts" rather than "combining two accounts." BTW, it's a little mini-nightmare if you only use "combine" on both Google and Apple support. At least this post might help others avoid the same fate.

You can combine individual PDFs into one PDF using one of these freeware utilities.

So i'm a new Mac user and when I got my MacBook Pro I transfered files from my PC using Migration Assistant. That worked succesfully but I had trouble trying to find the files and now I have they are all on this separate user account. So I was wondering if it be possible to combine the two accounts into one? If not how would I transfer the files from account to another?

I'm making a video of a guitar player. I'm using two cameras simultaneously. One gives the overall wide shot, and the other is zoomed in on his hands. Both cameras run at the same time. I would like to use the wide shot as the main video, and occasionally fade in clips from the zoomed in shot to show details of his playing. I can manually line up both files so they are synchronized. How do I cut a clip out of the main (wide) shot, leave the gap there, and insert a clip from the closeup? I'm putting the two video files on two of the video timelines and synchronizing them that way.

The effect you are looking for is 'Picture in Picture'. If you want the gap to be there for the duration of the timeline add some 'black video' - from the Tasks Pane> New Item - on the video track above the main track. Resize / position it to where you wish it to be.
Then with your second clip (now on video track 3)
Do the same sizing / positioning for it.
split video and audio and delete or disable the audio.
Cut it where you want the various start/ends of the fade to be.
Delete, or just disable (right-click) the unnecessary segments.
Apply fade in / out to the remaining segments.

In Windows Vista, most of the iTunes files (musing & movies) are in the public folder. But, my kids have files in their separate user folders.
My question is how do I copy the files from the separate user folders to the public folder so that any of them can load any of the files into their iPods?

That would be kind of you. Thank you. This is my first post on the new support setup. I find it a lot different than the previous arrangement. Harder actually. I don't remember what I did when I first posted it. It seemed like my searches for my subject I could not find until I posted my question and then I found some immediately. Items purchased from the iTunes Store are permanently associated with the account from which they were originally purchased. Apple provides no way to change this.
However, if you wish to put content from two accounts into a single iTunes library, you can easily do so. Use the command File > Add File (or Folder) to Library.

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

Your old account is the one you migrated, but it has been renamed because the new account had the same name. "Fixing" this is a bit complicated. It is possible to transfer data from one account to the other. See Transferring files from one User Account to another.
A cleaner solution is to do this:
Create a temporary new admin user account with a completely different username.
Log into this new account.
Delete the new account you created before migrating.
Delete the old account you migrated that has the changed name.
Re-migrate your old account from the Mini.
Log into the newly migrated account and delete the temporary account.
And, the simplest solution is to use the migrated account as-is and delete the account you originally made on the new computer.
