SORRY!  I thought you were referring to Logic Pro X.
I assume the regulations will be different with earlier versions.

  • How do I completely (!) uninstall "Logic Pro X" with all associated files?

    Hey guys,
I'm a relatively new MAC user.
I'm sitting here since two hours to figure out how I can uninstall "Logic Pro X" and all it's associated files completly?
I found several guides on the internet pointing to different folders which should be deleted.
When I follow those guides all I get are circa four deleted files and 1 GB of free space nothing more.
They are all written for older versions of Logic (mostly 8 and 9)!
So maybe someone here on the official support communities can help me getting rid of it?

    Hi
If you really want to delete all of it:
    Applications: Logic Pro X
Macintosh HD:Lbrary:Audio:Apple Loops:Apple (you may want to keep the GarageBand ones?)
    Macintosh HD:Lbrary:Audio:Impulse Responses
    Macintosh HD:Lbrary:Application Support:Logic
That should get most/all of it

  • How to uninstall Logic Pro 8 and Reinstall Logic Pro 7.2?

For numerous reasons I'd like to uninstall Logic Pro 8 and return to Logic Pro 7, the reasons for which I'd rather not discuss, as I'd like to focus on the reinstallation task.
Apple states that Logic Pro 7 still functions, but this is not entirely correct. Since many instruments were replaced, the complex 50-track songs that I painstakingly mixed on pure LP7 (prior to the upgrade) now sound completely different in LP7 post-LP8 install (as well as LP8 as you can imagine). It seems that the levels are actually different on some of the EXS and other instruments. Yes, Apple says they are richer and better, but I really don't care. I am in the middle of a CD and need to return to the state I was in prior to the upgrade.
Ultimately I'd like to reinstall Logic Pro 7 and/or its content in order to get all of my original instruments back.
Does anyone have a procedure for this? Should I uninstall Logic Pro 8 and then perform a complete reinstall of Logic Pro 7 following Apple's procedure? Or should I simply use Pacifist to replace the content files that were replaced? Will any of my preferences (plug-in settings) be lost during a reinstall? Should the rest of Logic Studio be uninstalled as well?
    Thanks so much in advance.
P.S. I'm just looking for a procedure and do not wish to discuss the reasons, which you'll find all over the forums.

Regarding copying the settings, these should all be in my personal user folder, correct? My plugin settings should all reside here as I understand. Would ANY customized settings reside anywhere OTHER than my user folder? *Yes, everything should live here, but it never hurts to snoop around the other folders just in case.*
I had modified some EXS instrument settings, but did not import new ones.
Where would the personal EXS settings exist - in my user folders or elsewhere? *All exs are stored Library / Application Support / Logic or GarageBand. The audio files for instrument should be stored there as well. You will need to copy and save both the instrument file and the associated audio files*.
If I simply modified an EXS instrument within a song, my understanding is that would be a property of the song itself, correct? *Yes, if you did not save the exs instrument as new instrument, it settings are stored with the song.*
    Also,
Which folders am I deleting when I "delete both versions of Logic"? *You can delete ANY and all folders associated with them. Delete them out of the Apps folder, utilities, and Application support*.
And how would I delete the new Logic 8 content - where does it reside? *The Library. Not in front of my mac so sorry I can't be more specific.*
I just spoke to Apple and they recommended an "Erase and Restore" of the entire system, and a reinstall of Logic 7 in order to get me back to where I was - do you agree? *Yes, that is the preferred method but only if you are willing or in a position to start from scratch i.e re-installing all 3rd party apps, hardware drivers ect. Remember to back up all your important files.*
    Thanks!

  • How hard can it be to uninstall Logic Pro 9??

How do I uninstall Logic pro and all the programs that follow with it? I can´t find the answer anywhere. The answers I find are all older than 2010 and just includes deleting alot of strange files I cant find.
And apparently theres no uninstall function either... frustrating.

It's not hard, just drag the Logic app icon to trash, empty the trash, and that's it.
You may also want to move Mainstage, Compressor, Waveburner, Logic Node, Soundtrack Pro and Apple Qmaster (depending on whether you had these installed along with Logic as a Logic Studio suite) to trash too.
After that you may search the hard-drive for any Logic-related items, and trash them too. Check <your HD>/Library/Application Support/Logic AND <your HD>/users/<your username>/Library/Application Support/Logic (this one should contain your preferences, apple loops, custom sound patches, temp files and undo data).
Apple Loops, Jam Packs and other Logic content (if you installed them all) could be found in: <your HD>/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/

If you don't have an uninstaller:
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper
        2. AppDelete
        3. Automaton
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner

  • How do I completely uninstall ClamAV from my system?

    Hello folks,
How do I completely uninstall ClamAV from my system?
I trashed the application, but once in a while, the system console pops up with the "ClamAV update process" trying to update ClamAV. How do I safely completely get rid of ClamAV from my system?
    Cheers!

If you are talking about ClamXav, this you would need to follow these directions as posted on his website.
    15. How do remove ClamXav and the associated engine?
First, you must download the Engine Remover. When you unzip it (making sure to use either OS X's built-in unzipper or the most recent Stuffit Expander or similar), double click clamavEngineREMOVER.command. This will open up the Terminal where you'll be asked to enter your Admin password. The rest takes care of itself.
Finally, drag the ClamXav application from wherever you installed it, to the trash.

Intego has their own uninstaller which is the best thing to use. Otherwise, see the following. From a practical point of view you really don't need any such software on the Mac.
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics

  • How to record guitar in Logic Pro 8

    Hi,
Well, I´ve got a Mac Mini, Logic Pro 8, Audio Kontrol 1 audio interface, and an acoustic guitar. What I would like to do is to record my guitar songs into Logic Pro 8 and add other sound effects. My problem is, however, that I can´t figure out how to record guitar using Logic Pro 8. In the "Preferences" I choose "Core Audio" as device. I connect my guitar into the audio interface (Audio Kontrol 1) and from the audio interface to my Mac Mini using an USB.
When I start playing, Logic Pro is silent. When I record, there is no sound. What is even more strange is that GarageBand is working perfect! So I guess it has something to do with the settings in Logic Pro 8. So, I ask you guys...do you know have to solve this problem? If so, I would be very grateful!
    Best regards,
    Tor

    Thanks guys!
I will try this as soon as I come home!
I will let you know how it works.
    Tor
Well, I mentioned the aggregate audio device since I saw this article. Is this possible for me? Why should I do this?

How do I complete uninstalling itunes? when I try installing i get an error message saying it can't find the path ,itunes64.msi missing

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component won't install normally.

Logic 9 installs files in all sorts of places (as well as the Application itself):
    <Boot Disc>:Library:Application Support;Logic
    <Boot Disc>:Library:Application Support:Garageband:Instrument Library:Sampler
    <Boot Disc>:Library:Audio:Apple Loops

How do I upgrade my Logic Pro to Logic Pro X ?

If you bought it on the Mac App Store there are terms and information on how to contact Apple.  Though I know few companies where a purchase 5-6+ months prior to a new release qualifies for a "free upgrade," but you're always welcome to try.
