How do I completely uninstall Photoshop CS ?

I have Photoshop CS (2003).  I've been using it on a regular basis without any problems.  Two nights ago I was using it and not having any problems, and printed out a few pictures.  I left it open while it printed a huge file and in the morning I noticed Photoshop wasn't responding.  So I had to use the task manager to close out the file. Then I tried restarting it and it froze up again.  So I did a cold boot of my system.  Same results.  So I tried uninstalling via the control panel. I chose the option to keep the activation info but then on reinstall I had the same freezing up.  So I tried uninstalling via control panel that would also remove activation info.  Then I tried reinstalling.  What I get now is "An error has been detected and the product cannot continue.  Please reinstall the application."  Well, I've tried.  And I don't have any luck.  And I also tried going in and deleting the program file, but that didn't help.  And instructions on how to remove registry info and go to 'documents and settings' do me no good since my operating system is so sophisticated (I think it is Windows 7, but I can't even figure out how to find that out - give me Windows XP back!) that I can't find those anymore (I'm an ex-assembly language programmer so it's not that I don't know what computer code does - it's just gotten too sophisticated and it left me in the dust).  When I start Photoshop, the 'credits' window opens along with the photoshop window and then the credits window disappears and after a very long time, this error message pops up.  Meanwhile if I click my cursor inside the Photoshop window the message at the top banner next to the name Adobe Photoshop says 'not responding'.  My two standard side windows come up that show the basic editing tools and the layers, but I can't access any of that.  Oh, and the Adobe help desk attendant informed me that they don't offer any support on this anymore.  Any suggestions how I can get this working again?

Read this and this. It doesn't cover any specifics of CS2 (was already out of fashion when I wrote this stuff), but you should be able to take hints and clues to know what you must do (especialyl dealing with caps-db and licensing issues).

  • Problem completely uninstalling Photoshop  Elements 10

How do I completely uninstall Photoshop Elements 10?  I have already gone to the uninstall program, and it uninstalled it, however it is stil on my computer.  When I go to Adobe it is still there, when I try to delete it, this is the message that I get:  You require permission from SYSTEM to make changes to this folder.
I have no idea what this means, or what to do about it.  I have installed Photoshop Elements 11.
    I'm running Windows 7 (64 bit).

Permissions issue means you need to be logged in as Admin in order to uninstall PSE10. If that doesn't work, please download CS Cleaner tool from : CSCleaner and run it as Admin, thereby uninstalling all left out traces of PSE10.
Let me know if you need more help on this.

If you don't have an uninstaller:
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:

        2. AppDelete

  • How do I completely uninstall ClamAV from my system?

    Hello folks,
How do I completely uninstall ClamAV from my system?
I trashed the application, but once in a while, the system console pops up with the "ClamAV update process" trying to update ClamAV. How do I safely completely get rid of ClamAV from my system?
    Cheers!

If you are talking about ClamXav, this you would need to follow these directions as posted on his website.
    15. How do remove ClamXav and the associated engine?
First, you must download the Engine Remover. When you unzip it (making sure to use either OS X's built-in unzipper or the most recent Stuffit Expander or similar), double click clamavEngineREMOVER.command. This will open up the Terminal where you'll be asked to enter your Admin password. The rest takes care of itself.
Finally, drag the ClamXav application from wherever you installed it, to the trash.

Intego has their own uninstaller which is the best thing to use. Otherwise, see the following. From a practical point of view you really don't need any such software on the Mac.

How do I complete uninstalling itunes? when I try installing i get an error message saying it can't find the path ,itunes64.msi missing

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component won't install normally.

  • How do I manually uninstall Photoshop 7 Wiindows 7?

I have an old install of Photoshop 7 on my laptop (Windows 7 32-bit) that I am unable to uninstall. I have admin rights, but using the Windows program uninstaller tells me that I don't have sufficient rights to uninstall. The original program CD does not have an uninstall option, nor does attempting to re-install from the CD change my ability to uninstall it. A search of the web and search of Adobe's site have support documents for removing PS Elements and the CS versions of PS, but not version 7, at least that I have been able to find.
I understand the process of manually removing software and removing its entries with RegEdit, I am just looking for a document that lists all the registry entries specific to Photoshop 7. Note: just searching for any "Adobe" or "Photoshop" entries within RegEdit won't work as I have other Adobe software, including a newer versions of Photoshop that I do not want to remove, so I'm looking for a list of all registry keys that are specific to PS7, as well as, the various other folders a PS install creates. Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Are you getting this error message while uninstalling FIM?
FIM Portal and Service is trying to find a site which is not there anymore.  Just add  the url which FIM was looking into the Central Administration >> Alternate Access Mappings
Save and exit out from Central Administration and try to uninstall now and it should work.  It worked for me.

  • How do I completely uninstall an application using Darwin?

    Dear Forum Members,
Hello to everyone, I'm new to the Apple Discussions forum and this is my first post. Recently, I came to understand through online sources that most applications designed to uninstall software do not completely remove everything. Does Darwin have the commands needed to completely uninstall an application? If so, what are they and in what order would I execute them? When the need arises, I would like to know how to do this properly.
My experience in using Darwin is basic but I would like to learn more and become more proficient with its use.
    Thank you,
    AYW?

There is "No" unified uninstall facility.
If the application did not provide its own uninstall script, then you generally drag the application to the trash, then if you are worried about the preferences files you look in $HOME/Library/Preferences and maybe "$HOME/Library/Application Support" for files related to the app you trashed.
If you installed something via open source tools, then you dig through the makefile and look for where stuff was installed, and undo it.
