How do I configur a 4350 USB?

The 4350 shows up on Measurement & Auto Explorer. And appears to be functioning. Under properties I selected the accessory as 2190. This is the TC interface which is connected. In the test panel the Thermocouples are responding to stimulus. However, My VI gives the following message:
Error -10401 occurred at AI Parameter
Possible reason(s):
NI-DAQ LV: The specified device is not a National Instruments product, the driver does not support the device (for example, the driver was released before the device was supported), or the device has not been configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer.
My application lays out like this: Initialize, set powerline freq, set read rate, set channel mode, set scan list, aquisition start/stop, read, aquisition start/stop, simple error handler.
Thanks

Hello gnwtci,
I'm guessing that the reason that the directory is not on your computer is because you do not have Calibration Executive installed. Calibration Executive is a piece of software that NI sells that allows you to perforfm device level calibration.
In regards to NI-DAQ. NI-DAQ is not application software but driver software. MAX is a utility that installs with NI-DAQ that allows you to configure your DAQ hardware as well as other NI hardware. Anytime you update any of your NI drivers (such as NI DAQ), the driver will install MAX if it is not already installed on your computer or will upgrade it to a newer version if possible.
You can go to this webpage to get the newest versions for your drivers:

I hope this clears things up a bit.

What is the Problem? flash formatted on most Cisco (it has decreased in numbers from 16 GB to 2.75 GB)???

Syntax is the one as Chandu poined out.
However, i see there is a space between usb0: and the filename.
    "Switch#copy usbflash0: 3560-ST"
Make sure there is no space in the syntax above and also the file name is correct.

i have an imac connected to the internet through a draytek vigor 2820n router. this router has a USB port with a HP Deskjet 5560 printer attached (for use as a network printer for other machines on the network). How do I configure this printer on the iMAC?

I checked on the HP web site. Your aswer is on the HP website under your printer type. Update your drivers and follow the instructions given by HP and the printer will work as you have it connected.

How do I configure my Airport Extreme to see the printer I have plugged into the USB port?

OK. The 6.0 version no longer has a printer configuration that I could find. You might try Printer Sharing in the Sharing preferences.
I would also check the printer's user manual for help with the setup, and that failing check the manufacturer's website and/or tech support.

  • How to properly configure a home network using both Mac and PC computers

Is there a book or set of guidelines that can tell me how to properly configure (exact specifications) my computers in a home network? Here is what I am trying to do and using:
    1) Three computers: iMac (late 06 ver), Macbook (newest version), Dell laptop. The two Macs are using Leopard and the PC is XP.
    2) Bellsouth modem which feeds into the Airport Extreme Base Station (AEBS)
    3) The AEBS has a USB hub which is connected to a external hard drive and two inkjet printers. A third laser printer/scanner/fax machine is connected to the AEBS via ethernet.
    4) All three computers use a wireless connection to the AEBS.
    I would like the following:
    1) Have a secured and password driven network - don't want outsiders connecting to the nework without permission.
    2) All computers to be able to access the USB printers and ext HD.
    3) The two Macs to read/write to each other with password access
    4) The iMac to have read/write capabalities over the PC via VSFusion or Bootcamp if possible.
Currently, all three have Internet access via the AEBS and can print on the ethernet printer. Both Macs can see the Bonjour USB printers and print (however they to do not display on the AEBS configuration display utility and neither does the ext HD). The USB ext HD is shown on the iMac desktop and I have access to it, but does not display on the MacBook. I have not checked if the PC sees the external HD and it really does not matter if it ever does, although it would be nice.
I am hoping that there is some standard configuration that I can "cut and paste" that is generally used to allow a home network to share resources while still being secure.
Any advice and help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

    Andrew,
What you would like is fairly complicated so this will probably be a lengthy post, but hopefully I can assist you.
As others here have pointed out, networks can vary widely, but the best networks have one element in common: planning. The first thing you need to think about is how you would like all of these systems to cooperate. For instance, do you want one of the machines to serve files to the others and be a central repository, or are you just interested in having them share documents on occasion so that you don't have to carry around, say, a USB key all the time? That said, here is a basic list of things I think you should look into.
    1. Network Basics
First step is to get your local network set up. I'd go for WPA or WPA2 wireless security as they are relatively strong standards and you can use human-readable passwords. Additionally, unless you have an explicit need for someone outside your network to initialize a connection (Windows' RDP for instance), do not allow any passthroughs or port redirects on your AEBS.
    2. Network Topology
Decide how you want computers and networked devices to identify themselves and their relative locations in the network: in short, do you want static ip's or dynamic ip's? Most of the time, static IP's can be assigned on a DHCP router, the trick is to assign the statics higher than your number of devices (or lower on some routers - for instance Linksys routers start DHCP at 192.168.1.100 but you could have statics from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.99). For instance, it is impractical to set a laptop to static because I'm often in coffee shoppes and other environments that assign via DHCP; on the other hand, it's a good idea to have a printer be static so that you always know where to find it. So, I have 10.0.1.x network (default on AEBS), and the printer is 10.0.1.24, since the likelihood of my encountering an IP conflict with 4 computers on the subnet is virtually zero. If you configure a static device behind your AEBS, defaults are usually
    Default Gateway 10.0.1.1
    IP Address 10.0.1.(your choice)
    Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
    3. File-sharing.
3a) Mac OS X has a built-in SMB/CIFS (Windows file & printer sharing protocol) client, and a basic SMB [samba] server can be enabled in the sharing preference panel (enable file and/or printer sharing). Windows XP can use these shares, but must authenticate. For that reason, you may not be able to see your shares in the Network Places browser, however you should be able to get to them by mapping the network drive (tools menu) or executing RUN with \\computer.name\share.name. You will then be able to type in your credentials. I would also suggest relatively simple names for the Macs in question (set in Sharing preference pane). Typing Andrew's-iMac-G4 in every time you want to find it will get irritating after a while to say the least, especially if you need to troubleshoot.
3b) The reverse works similarly. You can Connect to Server... from Finder to get to the Windows shares. To do this you must have Windows File and Printer sharing enabled (most easily through the Network Setup Wizard in Control Panels - Use Classic View). It's really easy if your account names and passwords are identical on the Mac and PC, because when loading user profiles, the Mac will generally automatically try to authenticate against the Windows machine with your Mac logon credentials. (Windows seems to do this against the Mac as well) You can write an Applescript or there are some PLIST modifications you can make to mount Windows shares at login.
    4. Printing
I'm not exactly sure what you had in mind here since I'm not sure what's connected to which computer or directly to the network. If it is possible, I personally find putting my printers directly on the network to be the easiest thing. Especially if printing large PDF or graphics files, the spooling on the host system can really slow the computer down, and slow down printing. For example, I used to have a laserjet on a Windows box and had to print a very large file. Going through a Win print server, it only printed a page every 30 seconds, but when I got a jetdirect adapter, the whole thing was done in under two minutes. If you have HP Printers, I would recommend the jetdirect print servers (I have used with both a laserjet and a supposedly unsupported color inkjet).

  • How to read out data via usb

    Hello,
i am trying to get the measurements of a dial indicator, "MarCator 1075", product of Mahr Co. via USB-Cable.
I installed all the drivers and MAX shows that its a COM-Device and its working properly. So i configured the settings: baud rate 4800, data bits 7, parity even, stop bits 2, apllied and saved the changes.
I tried those 2 attached VI's, but it doesnt work.
    1. basic_serial_write_and_read.vi is the standard VI for USB-communication of NI.
    2. Sylvac Read.vi is a VI the vendor send after i talked to him to inform me about the dial indicator. He said its a VI to get Data via RS232, but the problem is that i dont have a RS232-slot in my computer. In order to that i have to realize it via USB.
I think it doesnt work because there are no databits to be read out. When the dataflow arrives the "VISA-Read" theres is an error. This occures in both VI's.
Error -1073807339 occurred at VISA basic_serial_write_and_read.vi
Possible reason(s): VISA:  (Hex 0xBFFF0015) Timeout expired before operation completed.
Anyone who can help me with my issue??
    thx in advance

    Hello FCHansa,
have you installed the proper drivers?
Which version of LabVIEW are you using?
Which OS are you working on?
In the LabVIEW Example Finder you have a simple example how you can communicate to a USB HW via NI-VISA.
It's called "Basic TCPIP or USB VISA Write and Read - PDA.lvproj". Or another would be "Basic TCPIP or USB VISA Write and Read - Touch Panel.lvproj"
Have you configured your USB Device to a virtual COM interface?

  • I have LabView Student Edition, how can I make work a USB 6008?

The Student edition it doesnot have many Vi's that there are necesary to work with a USB 6008, I would like to know how can I make work the Usb 6008 with LabView Student Edition

    Hello Jorge,
When you say "NI-DAQmx configuration" do you mean the NI-DAQmx Base Configuration Utility?  Are you using NI-DAQmx or NI-DAQmx Base to communicate with the 6008?
NI-DAQmx 7.5 added support for the USB-6008.  Therefore, you can use either NI-DAQmx or NI-DAQmx Base to control this device.  Make sure that you are setting the USB-6008 to NI-DAQmx before trying to use the NI-DAQmx VIs in LabVIEW.  To do this, Open Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) and select Tools >> NI-DAQmx Configuration >> NI-DAQmx USB Driver Selector.  Your USB-6008 should appear in this window, indicating which driver your device is configured for.  Make sure it is set to NI-DAQmx before trying to use the NI-DAQmx VIs.
When your 6008 is set to NI-DAQmx, you cannot use NI-DAQmx Base or any of the DAQmx Base examples.  Likewise, when the 6008 is set to NI-DAQmx Base, you cannot use any NI-DAQmx VIs.
If you would like to use NI-DAQmx with your USB-6008, please set the driver by following the steps above and verify that "USB-6008" is listed under "Devices and Interfaces >> NI-DAQmx Devices" in MAX.
I hope this helps.  Please let me know if you continue having trouble with your USB-6008.
    Regards,
    Sean C.

  • How to run fsck.vfat for USB-stick during cRIO-9030 boot?

    Hi all,
we have a cRIO-9030 with a USB-stick. Sometimes after power loss the USB-stick filesystem (FAT32) gets corrupted and has to be checked/fixed. How can I configure cRIO LinuxRT to do that?
I've checked /etc/fstab, but it looks that the USB-stick is mounted somewhere else. I run mount - here is the line:
    /dev/sdc1 on /media/sdc1 type vfat (ro,relatime,fmask=0000,dmask=0000,allow_utime=0022,codepage=437,iocharset=iso8859-1,shortname=mixed,quiet,errors=remount-ro)
It would be nice if I can run fsck.vfat /dev/sdc1 every boot or when an error is detected.
    Thanks in advance,
    Nikolai

    Hi NickViz,
My name is Ed form National Instruments Technical Support, I have researched into the topic and found that it is possible to use the 'System Exec.vi' to complete the command during the initialization of your RT application.
You simply need to input your commands as a string just as you would to command prompt/terminal (depending on OS), you can also execute commands via SSH however this is one way communication between the RT application and the command shell.
I have included some links below to articles which describe the methodology as well as give some further explanation into the NI Linux Real-Time OS.

    http://www.ni.com/white-paper/14626/en/
I hope this is helpful and you achieve what it is you need, do note you will need to enable SSH scripting as described in the article on using PuTTY for your Real Time device.

  • How do I install windows from USB on Macbook pro 3,1

How do I install windows from USB on Macbook pro 3,1 ?
My Superdrive is far from super anymore, So I managed to make an extern drive with both Snow Leopard Partition, Lion Partition (Since I thought Boot Camp 4,1 would bypass my problem), and Time Machine partition, Since I got 1. USB drive that works.
    - My general issue is that Boot camp Refuse to see the USB drive - (Many "how to"´s though show how they install windows perfectly through the USB port, but they use airbooks!, and somehow the Macbook will not ?)
I fix that issue with >> rEFIt <<, that suddenly makes it possible for the Mac to see the USB drive, and partitions.
Which was very strange since I could use an extern HD with the whole installation to start up wipe the whole disk, and then use my extern drive with partitions to install Snow Leopard and get everything as before with timemachine. Very smart with timemachine, but very lucky that I have a extern drive that runs the whole system and that I made the partitionsdrive before. DVD-drives are the past!
Point: So the original system could see the Snow Leopard installation USB disk, but boot camp cannot find the USB drive ?????????
After rEFIt I booted and then I got this error:
    Starting bootmgr.efi
    Error: Unsupported while loading bootmgr.efi
I read it could be a problem with the Windows software, so I purchased an extern DVD drive, Used Disk Utility to make an image (.DMG), then used another program to convert the .dmg to .ISO.
Then downloaded a trialversion of vmWare fusion, and installed windows from the iso. Everything worked brilliant, except and that is why I want to use boot camp, Running windows in another program while running the mac system is a little hacky and slow.
Point: Nothing is wrong with the windows software, and windows runs fine.
I then downloaded the Windows DVD / USB Tool, reformatted a USB drive as Master Boot Partition, MS-Dos Fat partition, then after lots of struggling got Vmware, windows to recognise the USB drive. And installed the windows software on the USB drive, as all the walkthroughs recommend.
Then I tried for "fun"! to just install windows form the extern USB drive, and with rEFIt it will see the drive and start to do something, but then when it starts to boot, the screen just turns into black and nothing happens, and you can see the drive does NOTHING. (I think it is because I only have 1 USB drive and the Extern DVD drive does not get enough power, but again the mac refuse to see the USB drive unless it is a Snow Leopard installation USB-drive!
Well trying to install Windows Ultimate 64 Bit, which worked great in vmware, because that program installed from the .ISO file that I had on the desktop, but trying with Boot Camp did not get anywhere, what kind of **** program is this boot camp anyway!?, but then I try the new USB disk with windows made from windows, thorugh rEFIt, it sees the disk and then starts and then I get this ERROR:
    rEFIt - Booting Legacy OS
    Starting legacy loader
    Using load option ´USB´
Error: Not found returned from legacy loader
    Error: Not found from LocateDevicePath
    (x 9 times)
Error: Load Error while (re)opening our installation volume
The firmware refused to boot from the selected volume. Note that external hard drives are not well-supported by Apple´s firmware for legacy OS booting
(Hey Apple please send out a updated firmware that fix this issue?!)
So how do I do it ? - or is the only option to fix the partition running the system from the extern disk. Format the whole drive in 2 from the "bottom" and install windows and then afterwards install Mac on the other partition ?  Or just run windows on the mac and forget about mac software ? What a stupid solution...

There are strings in the pliist file to add other Macs so that you can use some USB-DVD drives.
This is 5 page thread, so a little more 'meat' to it:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3410900?start=60&tstart=0
And on PC booting Windows from a USB DVD to do the install is usually a piece of cake, sometimes you just need to specify that USB in the BIOS boot order and sometimes select via F12 (or another Fkey) and that is it.
What you have here seems to be everything and everyone is excluded unless there is a  mac-model device ID string that specifies yes.  An unnecessary hurdle.

How can i create a new usb connection (service)  on my iMac for sharing internet from my iPhone5 ( i seem have to deleted it )

And when i try to add a new one i dont get a USB option.
can some one help me please??
this is how it looks (after the bluetooth PAN i used to have USB iPhone option)
